Use WUGA TV to inform public of all UGA activities.
Dear UGA President Jere Morehead: March 5, 2014
Regarding the recent article lamenting the failed financial success of the television station
WUGA TV, why not do something new and original for a change instead of the old worn out
politically correct recommendations by high paid administrators and worthless committees?
You have a golden opportunity to use this failed business enterprise to bring all of the vast daily operations of UGA to every citizen and taxpayer of Georgia in ways never done or even contemplated before.
Film and broadcast every UGA department faculty meeting on the UGA campus to the public.
Film and broadcast every UGA college or school or institute or other subdivision faculty meeting on campus to the public.
Film and broadcast every Administrative meeting on campus to the public.
Film and broadcast every lecture in every department to the public.
Film and broadcast every Master’s and Ph.D. oral examination to the public.
Film and broadcast all meetings of every UGA Foundation and the UGA Athletic Association to the public.
Film and broadcast all of your meetings with all parties.
I am sure you can think of others. This would finally open up the mostly secret activities of the public
UGA to the taxpayers and public it purportedly serves, and provide them with some true information about what really goes on there every day, instead of the normal public relations lies and propaganda.
This would provide the citizens of Georgia with knowledge, truth and understanding about UGA for a change. Isn’t this what UGA is, or should be, about?
Wouldn’t this original idea be a true breath of fresh air for a change from UGA to the public it purportedly serves? How about it President Morehead? You have a golden opportunity to do something truly original and groundbreaking for informing the largely ignorant population of Georgia regarding the mostly secret operations of this institution of “higher education”, which you brag to be the oldest land grant such institution in the country.
But a cautionary note: The public might not be pleased with everything it sees from this information if so provided openly and honestly and fully, without censorship. In fact, the public might demand this institution be shut down if they receive all this information in a truthful and open manner.
