Chapel Hill, Georgia, Douglas County. A High School Senior was nearly killed, and an audience was possibly placed at risk, from a fire as a result of a public chemistry class demonstation the other day.
All articles about this very serious incident focus on the quick actions of a few who likely saved the life of this student, but fail to address the possible negligence of those teachers in charge or even name them. This is shameful.
These types of accidents must be prevented and it is the responsibility of the teachers to prevent them and not risk public safety. A thorough investigation of this horrible accident must be performed and likely result in the firing of the negligent teacher and possibly the school district as well. Bad supervisory judgement was shown in burning dangerous chemicals for a public advanced placement chemistry show.
