Your idea, the one about business paying all taxes, no individual tax liabilities. What is the number one reason you believe this might be a good system.

I'm going to venture a guess that the ones who are going to continue this travesty of the neverending argument into the holiday, have no life, no family, and no friends.

Because it worked before the gubmint got real greedy, and wanted more and more.
And what is your number one reason for everyone paying a 30% sales tax would be a good system.......
And dont forget to add the Georgia sales tax to the final bill..........

Is it the bad economy, obamacare, or just tired and weary taxpayers that is the reason for the slowdown..........

"According to the analytics firm, traffic for the week ended Dec. 22—which included the crucial final weekend before Christmas—was down 21.2 percent year over year. The first two weeks of December saw double-digit decreases, which trailed a 4 percent decline over Black Friday weekend, it said."

Really? Who is arguing politics on Christmas Eve? You want to argue about taxes? Take it to the kitchen. Go visit family and friends. Don;t be a douche and presume you know everything. Go help the homeless. Do something useful.

Would you get back in the barn and check Rudolph and Blitzen. We don't have time for you to lolly gag, they both have colds and you just may have to run by CRR and pick up a couple of stand-in's for later. Do I have to do everything???

I just wish he could explain how individuals live within their means when we as people are carrying record debt, just like gubmint.
This poster is quickly becoming the King of Straw Man arguments...

BTW, worry about your own debt, I have none and haven't had any for several years. It's called living within YOUR means and doing what is necessary to make sure you do so.

Perhaps this poster needs to contact that Dave Ramsey guy to learn how to manage money.

Okay secret's out, but don't tell any of the little munchkins. They'd never leave me alone, I'm not really married to him but he can't take care of himself so somebody has to do it. The wife left him forever ago. Such a sad situation indeed. Don't tell anyone but he's senile.

... know that if I was rich enough I could pay almost all income tax using the capital gains tax loophole. I also know I pay a lesser percentage of tax than you do at McDonalds. I take advantage to all the tax write offs available, thanks to the business I have. Because of the business I am in my accountant takes advantage of what the very rich have put in place for themselves.... From most of what you say my taxes must be a whole lot more complicated than yours, but that's no surprise now is it.
Then you wonder off on the fair tax ride, again the resulting legislation when the 1% get their way as they always do will result in very little if any difference....To many people make a living with the current tax system, to many jobs to bet on the unknown. To many politicians are lawyers and get "donations" from the 1% who have no interest in the fair tax experiment. I know more about how things work in the real world than you ever will. I know you are an arrogant ass, even more clueless than the so called clueless and uneducated you love to put down. Education in todays world is not a e-ticket to success, just look at the current crop of billionaires, then look at fools like you.
"takes advantage of what the very rich have put in place for themselves"

Wealth envy rears it's ugly head again. BTW, is there anything in tax law that is legal for the rich that is NOT legal for others?

"I know that if I was rich enough I could pay almost all income tax using the capital gains tax loophole."

If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.

BTW, salaries and wages are not taxed at the capital gains rate. But, if you were rich enough, you wouldn't have to work. But, it would be difficult getting the interest income and short terms gains to be covered under capital gains treatment, though.

"From most of what you say my taxes must be a whole lot more complicated than yours, but that's no surprise now is it."

First of all, I'm ASSUMING that was a question, although you didn't put a "?" at the end of it.

Second, you might be correct, but probably not. My return and schedules for 2012 (printed out by TurboTax) was 135 pages. Doesn't really matter though. It's not real complicated for me, obviously you couldn't do it, you paid someone...

"To many people make a living with the current tax system, to many jobs to bet on the unknown. To many politicians are lawyers and get "donations" from the 1% who have no interest in the fair tax experiment."

Is it "to" or "too"? One would think as bright as you claim to be, you could spell better.

There you go with Straw Man arguments again. I have never said I thought the FairTax would be passed.

"I know more about how things work in the real world than you ever will."

Possibly. Possibly not. Being that you know very little about my background, education and experience, it's kind of a stretch to say such a thing. I don't care one way or the other...

"Education in todays world is not a e-ticket to success, just look at the current crop of billionaires, then look at fools like you."

It's always funny, the people with little or no education always taking shots at the educated. Education envy, somewhat similar to wealth envy.

"I know you are an arrogant ass, even more clueless than the so called clueless and uneducated you love to put down."

Yes, some could consider me an arrogant ass. Do I care what you or someone on an anonymous board thinks of me? Seriously? At least I know what I'm clueless about. I post about things I know and am interested in (like the FairTax and taxes). Your should try it, you won't get embarrassed so much.

What I find amusing is that (although I don't reply often to your posts) it appears some of our beliefs are pretty consistent, yet when you get called out on your lack of knowledge about the FairTax, you become hostile...

Sad, but not surprising...
