Many more people would have lost their homes if the feds had not put in place programs to help them.
You talk about your facts, they are not facts, its what you would like to believe to be true because of your hate of paying taxes and government regulations someone told you hurt business. Things that benefit you in so many ways I don't have the room or the time or the patience with you to list.
Facts is you are so out of touch with reality it's alarming. Add to that the obvious fact that you are an idiot at best I somehow feel sorry for you. Being a grownup is a product of aging and has nothing to do with intellect or your abilities to accomplish anything. You are proof of that fact and that's the real truth.
You can't handle the real truth. I have seen many auto manufactures go out of business and America didn't fall down and die. I have seen Kaiser, American motors, Studebaker, and others go broke. May the best selling cars stay in business. That is called capitalism. When the government buys into and is partners in a industry, that is called Fascism. Bet you would have loved to live in Germany in 1940.

Why do YOU feel the need to go to extremes? The incidents above illustrate the actions of a few irresponsible or irrational individuals. And yet you wish to paint all responsible gun owners as unreasonable if they do not wish to have their Constitutionally protected rights infringed upon BECAUSE of the actions of the VERY small minority of irresponsible gun owners - and it bears repeating that the majority of gun related crimes are committed by NON-legal gun possessors.
It has already been addressed, but what about all the myriad of other ways in which people can be hurt by the irresponsible use of other items. Should ALL cars have breathalyzers installed that must be used before a car can be started because of the (actually larger) number of idiots who go out partying and then get behind the wheel of their vehicle - that would save more lives than any gun restrictions the Left wishes to enact.(2010 - 10,228 DUI related deaths, 9,369 gun related homicides)
What about the irresponsible people who leave medications out where children could get them. Should everyone be required to have a safe in which they keep all medications - including aspirin?(don't want to take the chance of Reyes Syndrome). That is one of the latest crazes amongst irresponsible teenagers - Pharm Parties -everyone raids their parents medicine cabinet and they throw the pills into a big bowl and just grab a handful - IDIOTS.
Why are guns the target (no pun intended)?
And just how responsible was it to tell gun store owners who called about concerns over gun purchases near the border to go ahead and sell the guns? And then made NO EFFORT to track the guns, nor did they inform the Mexican govt (unlike the Bush administration with Wide Receiver). THAT if just what Fast and Furious did and yet somehow Obama and Holder are NOT held responsible by the Left - do you even see the hypocrisy?
+1 good post.
I think it is clear that ChickenButt is against citizens legally owing firearms. He denies this, but what other reason would he be trying to blame law abiding gun owners of every evil act committed with a gun. He has no problem with any government actions taken concerning guns. I still think that this person is a professional socialist propagandist and will always take the governments stance. So far he always has.

Nope, the auto industry would not have failed, bankruptcy and reorganization would have been the logical result and they would have come out of it - BUT the UNIONS wouldn't and so the government stepped in to keep the unions whole and violated bankruptcy regulations that should have protected creditors.

And typically, you try to state that those who object to unreasonable tax rates to fund failing programs object to ALL taxes - nope, sorry - none on the Right object to taxes to support those functions the government is expected to perform. Can't even call that a "nice try" on your part as it has been refuted so many times.

Whatever are we going to do when you're generation is in the ground, and the vast majority of us know nothing, and don't care? The world will be truly a boring place without the know-it-all Boomers. We'll miss ya'! But, for now, you may continue the bickering that entertains us. And I have decided to vote next time for President. I will write in my vote for Stelio, as a cartoon character could run the country better than the morons you people vote for. Either that, or Ted Cruz. I figure we might as well replace one idiot for another, huh?

And just to illustrate how bereft of common sense some of the gun control/anti-gun crowd can be, let's not forget how a preschool told a deaf boy's parents that he needed to change how he "signed" his name because the gesture "resembled shooting a gun".

You are truly tiresome. I may disagree vehemently with the Lefties on here, but at least they believe what they believe and vote accordingly. I am stunned that someone would come on here and actually seem proud of the fact that they don't vote and belittle those that do. I despise both the Democrat party and the Republican establishment, but they are the only game in town so one does what one can to try and make a difference. I vote against Democrats and vote for conservative Republicans and Tea party candidates in an attempt to bring the Republican party back from the brink.

Your full of bull and hot air. What solutions are you giving? I have actually heard nothing but you trying to blame law abiding gun owners for the crimes of the mentally ill and criminals. You will deny it but in the end your game is gun confiscation. By taking away all the guns from people you would think that everyone will be safe. Well it will not stop anything. Actually violence will increase because criminals and the government are the only ones that will have guns. Dear me, which one do I fear the most?
Since you refuse to answer me if you own a firearm , I must assume that you do. I bet you will still have your gun no matter what happens to gun laws. Are you the only gun owner that is responsible? Is your family the only family that has the right to be protected?
I just pointed out many of the flaws in your thinking. You know that your points are pointless.
Good Lord, BigDave.

If we're going to converse on this subject, you're going to have to listen to what people say. Instead you just want to jump to Gun Owner Armageddon, and then preach.

I am for gun-control measures that promote responsible gun ownership. I think I've said this about 5 times to you in the last week.

You hear the word "guns" and jump straight to "THE GOVERNMENT WANTS ALL OUR GUNS!" "WE WON'T BE ABLE TO FORM A MILITIA AND DEFEND OURSELVES!", even when somebody says precisely the opposite.

The inability to have a rational conversation is a definitive indicator of a zeolot and an extremest with whom it is useless to discuss something with.

If you like the current system, where anybody can buy a large-magazine rapid-fire assault rifle with no background check, no training, and no legal obligation to store it responsibly, just say so. Wait - you already did.

But - how does the situation get any better with your solution? Are you advocating Easter Sunday Services filled up with pistol-packing mamma's and AR-15 toting grannies so they can protect themselves as millions of more guns get into the hands of an ever-increasingly ignorant population?

Sometimes the country has to step back and deal with reality. If you and your political party are too irresponsible to do it, the adults will have to step in. These are the kinds of reasons Republicans are dying off and lost 5 of the last 6 elections.

Again - I never have, and do not propose that guns be confiscated. I do suggest that they are deadly weapons and that precautions and responsible behaviors need to be encouraged, and yes - legislated, because people AREN'T responsible or intelligent for the most part.

You wanna be a reactionary, and get so worked up you tell me what my "inner thoughts" are for me? You're insane. You truly have been brain-washed.

Fortunately, your insults are my compliments. Your name calling technique just goes to show how truly childlike your way of thinking is. And it was obvious what Rush meant and I was in complete agreement. "I hope he fails." does NOT mean what the Left tries to say it means - "I hope the country fails.", No, it means "I hope Obama fails in 'fundamentally transforming' this country into something the Founders or even our own grandparents would recognize."
It means I hope Obama fails:
in destroying the coal industry
in destroying our health care system
in further destroying people's sense of self respect and initiative
in eventually implementing single payer health care
in further limiting our home grown oil and gas resources
in crippling our industry with ludicrous carbon emission standards set by bureaucrats with no knowledge of the industries they are regulating
As far as the private enterprise responsibility of the Obamacare mess up - maybe if the Obama administration had put out guidelines of what they wanted and talked to different companies about how best to implement it, it might have worked. But instead they handed it on a silver platter (no open competitive bidding here) to Michelle Obama cronies and Obama bundlers - yeah, love that transparency and fiscal responsibility.
Nope, like you, Rush is nothing more than a hyperventilating ideologue, and what Rush wanted to fail was Liberalism, of which, Obama was the upcoming boogeyman.

Without having to read anything past the first 3 sentences of that. Let me say, AGAIN, I lean neither way. I just find it morally debilitating that a society allows itself to be the subject of the grand experiment of divisiveness, and then complain to each other about it, while the source of the problem continues to completely drain your souls. Tell me this... Do people wake up one day and magically think "I am now going to believe in this because some person I just shelled out money to elect says they will be doing me a personal favor"? Is that how that is? Do you really believe anyone in our government give two squirts of piss about you? lol Good luck with that.

Yep, differing expectations, due to differing interpretations.

Now let's see, can you actually refute an interpretation, or can you only disagree with it. Course by declaring that you have refuted the interpretation of another sounds so much more powerful, so much more convincing, then simply saying I disagree with your interpretation.

3 out of 6 items - 50%- of what you seem to care about is big-energy.

2 out of 6 items - 34%- of what you care about is health care. Actually, you don't seem to care about health care, you seem to be ANTI-GOVERNMENT health care.

1 out of 6 items - 17%- of what you care about is just some nebulous Libertarian battle-cry.

Now- lets go a step further. Big-Oil, Big-Coal, Big-Pollution is a proponent of small government, and they donate a lot of dollars and set up a lot of 501c to promote this. Small government means less ability to regulate massive polluters. Essentially the Anti-Obamacare trend is in REALITY and anti-government regulation trend.

That gets you up to 85% in favor of letting corporations run hog-wild with pollution, and no regulation, plus 1 meaningless libertarian battle-cry.

All I can say to you is, you live in that world if you want to. It already exists.

http://www.un.org/africarenewal/magazine/augu...

Personally, I don't want to. And I really don't see how any private citizen can support blind, lawless pollution and corporations without laws and regulations.

Here's the party platform from the 1980 Libertarian Campaign.
The players at the time were Big-Oil, Big-Coal, and Big Tobacco.

http://politicsbyjustin.files.wordpress.com/2...

The same people involved in that ridiculous platform are the same players dumping money into Libertarian and Tea Party propaganda RIGHT NOW. The only thing is, they're better at it now and have more money now to promote their interests.

You think you're patriotic and all for "freedom", when the only freedom you're actually enacting and enabling is the "freedom to be abused by big-business".
