You raise some excellent points, then proceed to abandon the possible, because it not perfect.

Americans need to be pragmatic and accept baby steps toward a return to normalcy if that's all that can be achieved right now.

Don't bother signing up for The AHCA.

Just wait until you have pneumonia, then receive free medical care at the ER.

Me and my family will pay for you.

We've been paying for decades for these freeloading deadbeats whining they have to buy insurance for themselves and their kids.

Damn... Personal responsibility for your own medical care - what a great "Conservative" concept.

LMAO! Oblama had to "stretch the truth"? You are a voter and a worshiper NO DOUBT! Obama blatently and repeatedly LIED to the American people. IF uninsured Americans can get heathcare coverage it is off the backs of the middle class taxpayers. UNafforable healthcare for ALL is what Obamadontcare is! The contributers to society are DONE paying for the takers. IMHO you have not seen the uprising that will take place when Obama's LIES continue to be exposed over the next few months. Will you continue to support a boldface liar when you get nothing in return for your loyalty to Oblama?

Finally, the FACT that you keep referencing FOX proves that you watch it! You also admittted that you listen to Limbaugh. Minus the "dummy" part, you are quite correct. It was my understanding, upon birth, that this is a united society with certain inalienable rights. You tell me where being forced into something is just. How about if I get elected President, and force the country to eat Lucky Charms cereal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or endure a fine and possible jail time for disobeying my almighty command. Hey, these are the doofuses you all support. I just state facts. Oh wait, I forgot..."If you like your existing health care plan, you can keep it". Kind of like "Read my lips, no new taxes". There is your totem pole of wooden figures lying to you on both sides of the fence.

I'm quite capable of funding my own hospital visits, if necessary. I've never had the flu, never had a flu shot. I walk everywhere (almost) that I go, so my cardio is pretty immaculate. I have been homeless at one point in my life, years ago for a year in Jax, FL, due to circumstances beyond my control (or maybe they weren't), and never took a handout from anyone. Come to think of it, I never asked. IN case you haven't noticed, the homeless get free healthcare. Now, just how is this grand illusion of a grand plan for health insurance going to help them now? Are they going to shut down the lifelines that the less fortunate have and fine them for not having access to the website (wait, lmaoooooo. Had to get that out), or will they simply just let the bodies pile up in the streets and burn them in pyres? I understand your points, but we are on this planet right now, and everyone should be guaranteed the same right to exist, and flourish, regardless of belief, status, or ethnicity. It is neanderthal in the line of thinking, that forcing anyone to do anything that they really don't need is the right thing to do. Most hospitals have indigent coverage that people can apply for, if needed. I'll only cite one very recent case here in good old Columbus. Four million dollars is going to renovate a house. NOw I ask you, just how much health care would that much money cover, and for how many people?

By the way, don't worry. If I ever set foot in a hospital anywhere, it will be to visit someone, or because I am dead. Doctors, mechanics, lawyers, etc., can all tell you something is wrong, charge you astronomically large sums of money to fix it, and wait for you to come back 6 months later because something else went wrong, only to bill you again.

There are so many problems with what you're saying here. Essentially you're suggesting the governement be "ala cart" - if you don't need a road, you don't pay for it. If you don't NEED a F-18, you don't pay for it, if you don't need an ambassador to France, you don't pay for it.

World doesn't work that way, and you're just going to keep on being disappointed until you figure it out.

I'll dumb it down. I am a Human Being. I have the common goal of all Human Beings on the planet, which is freewill. There are some of those, who choose to commit crimes, and they go to prison. Some folks choose to live their lives right, and work for the common goal of the betterment of a united society of people that are all flourishing. And then there are the voters, who choose to buy into a system of belief, being force fed to them by the idiots they vote in, only to whine and complain later about it. "It's your fault" seems to be the motto of this country now. Well, It ain't mine.

And this freemen-of-the-land thing of which you speak? Yep. I was the kid that couldn't get up from the dinner table until my vegetables were eaten. Guess who always won when bedtime came around on a school night? Strange thing is, I like vegetables now. BUt there isn't anyone forcing them down my throat.

Bush lied? He was given the same intel information as many other world leaders. Going to war with Iraq was wanted globally, and approved by US Congress.
Stovepiping for the answers they wanted...

http://www.newyorker.com/archive/2003/10/27/0...
...There were, of course, good reasons to worry about Saddam Hussein’s possession of W.M.D.s. He had manufactured and used chemical weapons in the past, and had experimented with biological weapons; before the first Gulf War, he maintained a multibillion-dollar nuclear-weapons program. In addition, there were widespread doubts about the efficacy of the U.N. inspection teams, whose operations in Iraq were repeatedly challenged and disrupted by Saddam Hussein. Iraq was thought to have manufactured at least six thousand more chemical weapons than the U.N. could account for. And yet, as some former U.N. inspectors often predicted, the tons of chemical and biological weapons that the American public was led to expect have thus far proved illusory. As long as that remains the case, one question will be asked more and more insistently: How did the American intelligence community get it so wrong?

Part of the answer lies in decisions made early in the Bush Administration, before the events of September 11, 2001. In interviews with present and former intelligence officials, I was told that some senior Administration people, soon after coming to power, had bypassed the government’s customary procedures for vetting intelligence.

A retired C.I.A. officer described for me some of the questions that would normally arise in vetting:“Does dramatic information turned up by an overseas spy square with his access, or does it exceed his plausible reach? How does the agent behave? Is he on time for meetings?” The vetting process is especially important when one is dealing with foreign-agent reports—sensitive intelligence that can trigger profound policy decisions. In theory, no request for action should be taken directly to higher authorities—a process known as “stovepiping”—without the information on which it is based having been subjected to rigorous scrutiny.

The point is not that the President and his senior aides were consciously lying. What was taking place was much more systematic—and potentially just as troublesome. Kenneth Pollack, a former National Security Council expert on Iraq, whose book “The Threatening Storm” generally supported the use of force to remove Saddam Hussein, told me that what the Bush people did was “dismantle the existing filtering process that for fifty years had been preventing the policymakers from getting bad information. They created stovepipes to get the information they wanted directly to the top leadership. Their position is that the professional bureaucracy is deliberately and maliciously keeping information from them.

“They always had information to back up their public claims, but it was often very bad information,” Pollack continued.“They were forcing the intelligence community to defend its good information and good analysis so aggressively that the intelligence analysts didn’t have the time or the energy to go after the bad information.”

The Administration eventually got its way, a former C.I.A. official said.“The analysts at the C.I.A. were beaten down defending their assessments. And they blame George Tenet”—the C.I.A. director—“for not protecting them. I’ve never seen a government like this.”

Ah, but you made my point for me. The world doesn't work that way. Why? Because the voting public falls into the trance of "I'll make things better, I promise". A lethargic way of thinking is defined in many ways as far as I see it. with the most foolish of all being one of well, let's just go vote in the next one and see how that goes. I could promise someone that I can crap piles og solid gold, drag them into believing it, and give them the mindset that they will be rich because of me, but it the end, it is just a pile of crap, and the only one benefiting from it is my colon.

Here is the real truth about you. You are a bias Republican that don't want the Affordable Health Care Law to work and are not even willing to give it a change. Your party has ruled it a bad law because they can not protect their giant insurance companies investments for getting them elected in the first place. Go ahead and laugh but it will not doo you any good because the law is taking effect and people are signing up as fast as they can. If you like you current insurance plan then keep it. I sure didn't like he thoughts of paying some crooked insurance company 1,513.00 for a lousy high deductible 80% plan. At 538.00 and a 90% plan with a good tax credit sounds a lot better than me. As far as being a taker, I'll bet I've paid in many times more taxes than you ever have. I own a company and I sure know taxes. If you work a job for someone else, you have no idea about taxes except what they have taken out of you measly pay day. You don't know about Corporate taxes and quarterly taxes and taxes on machinery too. You talk a good talk but you know very little. When you pay a premium for insurance then you are not a taker goof ball. Change from Fox to another news source...you will be awakened up to the real World. Until then, you should shut you pie hole. It's making you look like a fool to everybody. Funny thing, you choose to listen and believe lies and distortions and cull the truth. Get off the dummy pills!
