A consensus is clearly the case with regard to climate change and the knowledgeable, highly-qualified scientists who have researched it for more than two decades.

... skeptics persist in distorting the facts, sowing seeds of doubt for their own purposes, and arguing these points in the public media rather than presenting valid counter data or analysis in scientific journals. All this to delay taking any action.

What are the some of the key facts? According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration National Climatic Data Center:

They conclude that there is a compelling case based on a strong credible body of scientific evidence that climate change is occurring and is caused in large part by human activities..
To be sure, there are scientists, a handful with seemingly impressive credentials, as well as writers and others who disagree. They are relatively few in number and, this point is critical, mostly they do not argue with their own counter evidence in the scientific journals but in the public media or published books (of which there are several) suggesting climate change is a scam or hoax.

It is a commentary on our times and our approach to these matters that the maverick's views often gain more uncritical traction in the public media than perhaps they deserve because the media gives them equal time against multiple massive, legitimate, mainstream, painstakingly-done scientific studies, involving large numbers of scientists.

In Cheyenne, Wyo., last week, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) held a lease sale in for mining rights to a tract in the state's Powder River Basin — 149 million tons of publicly-owned coal. The sale failed to attract a single bid.

It was the first time that a federal coal tract offered for sale in Wyoming failed to attract any bidders — even the company that originally sought to mine the location determined that it couldn't do so profitably....

Both you and I.O. should, if you haven't already, begin buying carbon credits, you know. to reduce your carbon footprint. Wasn't it P.T.Barnum who said, "There's a sucker born every minute"?

Again you are a proven liar, in addition to a proven pervert.

You just don't get it do you. No matter what party is in power war is the American way, always has been. If he doesn't stand up to the Muslims he is wrong, if he does he is wrong. Nothing this President does is right in your colored eyes. The House and the Senate voted, its not just the President. Paint the pictures any way you want, you always chose the color.
Another horse for you to ride. Some groups are trying to change the Pledge of Allegiance in court again. This time from a different angle. All they want to do is change it BACK to the way it was before being changed in the 50's. Taking out the words
under God that are offensive to a small part of our population. Unfortunately they also have rights, as much as that troubles you. Right now the online voting is running 90% in favor of the change back to the original pledge. Here is a link, not to a blog but to a news story. Your group can now add 6 or 7 votes to the no side, it will have no affect because you people just don't matter anymore.

Look, Dahlonega. YOU are the one who doesn't get it. Obama and people of your ilk have harped on Bush and "his" war ad nauseam. That's ALL we've heard for YEARS. Obama was GIVEN the Nobel PEACE Prize(for doing nothing)(also, rather IRONIC) and NOW he wants to attack Syria. You liberals think as long as OBAMA is doing it, it's okay. His reasons are "valid". Do you understand how ridiculous that is?????
Do you understand how STUPID you liberals look supporting that? On the one hand, you stomp around slamming Bush while saying the U.S. ISN"T the world's police, but now that YOUR HERO wants to ride into Dodge City flashing his badge, well, that's AWESOME! So NOW it's GREAT to be the world's police. Right?
As far as the pledge, I'm not surprised. Even if the poll showed a vast majority favored leaving "under God" in the pledge, the minority rules, so......

"Farmer's Almanac Predicts Bitterly Cold Winter"

"The almanac was first published in 1818 and its secret formula for weather predictions based on "planetary positions, sunspots and lunar cycles," remains largely unchanged.

Scientists are not impressed with the formula, however, the almanac says its readers use the forecasts to plan weddings and plant gardens because it says its predictions are correct about 80 percent of the time."

These Scientists are the same Scientists who have predicted Global Warming, and when finding out the temps have dropped in the last 15 years, have changed to Global Climate Change(which covers all the bases when they wiffle and waffle.)

The Farmers Almanac is usually more accurate than today's weather forecasters.

Oh no it's hot today,
Oh no it rained today,
Oh no a blizzard's comin'.

What's the Difference Between Weather and Climate?
http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/noaa-n/clim...

The difference between weather and climate is a measure of time. Weather is what conditions of the atmosphere are over a short period of time, and climate is how the atmosphere "behaves" over relatively long periods of time.

When we talk about climate change, we talk about changes in long-term averages of daily weather. Today, children always hear stories from their parents and grandparents about how snow was always piled up to their waists as they trudged off to school. Children today in most areas of the country haven't experienced those kinds of dreadful snow-packed winters, except for the Northeastern U.S. in January 2005. The change in recent winter snows indicate that the climate has changed since their parents were young.

If summers seem hotter lately, then the recent climate may have changed. In various parts of the world, some people have even noticed that springtime comes earlier now than it did 30 years ago. An earlier springtime is indicative of a possible change in the climate.

What Climate Means
In short, climate is the description of the long-term pattern of weather in a particular area.

Some scientists define climate as the average weather for a particular region and time period, usually taken over 30-years. It's really an average pattern of weather for a particular region.

When scientists talk about climate, they're looking at averages of precipitation, temperature, humidity, sunshine, wind velocity, phenomena such as fog, frost, and hail storms, and other measures of the weather that occur over a long period in a particular place.

Ron Paul is sounding more and more appealing everyday for independents like me who like to see him stand up to his own party, which is very understandable. Better yet he pull away from that party and make a third party stand. He unlike hillary are against us being involved in Israel,or any other countries regional conflicts. Clinton has sold her sold to the back east jewish establishment who are more concerned with THEIR Israel instead of OUR America. I just wonder if he would pull a 180 if elected but then you have to trust someone to a certain extent. Finally it's time for some new blood. I am tired of Clintons bushs and all old standing career politicians. Mexico has one thing going for them that beats us, One 5 year term for Presidents.

Dont let the liar fool anyone. Climate is a condition predicated by the weather.

# 3 definition is real, but was added especially for libroids with Hemorrhoids by the online Free Dictionary.

It's still cold in Alaska in the winter and it's still hot on the Salt Lake of Utah. Always has been, always will be, at least until what we call "the next disaster."

Gradual changes are normal, always have been, always will be, until "the next disaster."

sorta like Oh my will post, and then IO will say "great post": Always has been, always will be, as long as they have fingers.

The definition of climate...

cli·mate (klmt)
n.
1. The meteorological conditions, including temperature, precipitation, and wind, that characteristically prevail in a particular region.
2. A region of the earth having particular meteorological conditions: lives in a cold climate.
3. A prevailing condition or set of attitudes in human affairs: a climate of unrest.
