Instead of adding staff how about cut some services. A library is supposed to be a place where books are stored for use by citizens for reference and entertainment. Why have libraries morfed into some sudo educational facility? Stick to your book inventory and cut out all the crap.
KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Of course, libraries are more than a place where books are stored. Children are guided to better citizenship and learn to communicate by visiting and taking part in their local institution. Seniors can participate and improve themselves as well, particularly at the Lady Lake facility where I personally observe the many activities and take an art lesson myself.

Sounds like you need to result to what OUR county is doing: volunteerism.

These days, if you want a job as a librarian, especially in decent size libraries, you have to have a special education for it and that costs money. If you DO get the job, it doesn't pay much. It's not designed to be a living job.

When money is tight; you get volunteers, or you cut hours of operation.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Libra

It's Christmas Eve and you're running around like a scalded cat. However, it will do you no end of good if you can find a few moments here and there for some quiet contemplation. You might want to visit a place that's sacred to you, or take a walk in some beautiful surroundings so you can commune with nature. You need to feel that you're connecting with something bigger than yourself.
