If I read this article right, it says the Lake County Sheriff's Department budget for 2007-2008 is $62,500,000.(Sixty-Two & One Half Million Dollars.) And apparently the entire
Lake County Budget equals $191,000,000.(One Hunderd &
Ninety One Million Dollars.) In regular old fashioned math this equals 32.7% of the entire County Budget!

Now, just 5 minutes ago I went online at LCSO and clicked on finance on the SO website it says the budget is:
$35,493,774.(Thirty Five Million, Four Hundered Ninety Three Thousand, Seven Hunderd & Seventy-Four Dollars)

I wonder just when this was last updated and, are they spending money so fast over there, they don't have time to keep our records up to date? Check this out, it's our money they're blowing, while we are walking, riding bicycles
and have the largest list of unpaid real estate taxes in Lake County history... They want more and more!

LCSO is thee most pathetic law enforcement agency out there. They wasted 2 months investigating a strip club because someone complained that there were bare breasts being shown. Wasteful wasteful wasteful.

Thanks, Typical Politician (TP)
I went to that download and I see what you mean.
What is amazing to me on page 34 is the Sheriff's Department got about 1/2 of that big old budget increase or about 6.5 million dollars for a total
budget amount in 2007-08 of 62.5 million dollars.
Thats almost 1/3 of the entire county budget unless I figured it wrong! The Sheriffs Department
budget showing on their website as of yesterday
was $35,493,774. I don't know when it was last updated! But they're getting $27,006,226. more than their website shows.Looks like they spend
so fast they don't have time to count it. they don't care it grows on trees.
