now is the time to shut the doors down . you have your own family that are swingers and that they do that in front of your grandkids . and the ambulance is a joke they have people in command that spent a time in jail

So, why is the fire chief on the chopping block? Sounds to me as if the Volunteer Relief Association should be, not the fire chief.

How long is this going to go on? I agree, just shut
the doors to close the chapter in this book. It has been dragging on for way too long.

Herman Monster- Ultimately the President and fire Chief together are responsible for the organization. When the Relief Association and the General FD are run by the same people (that way in many FD's) who are you going to hold responsible?

I think we should go to every Fire Dept and I am sure we can find alot of things for each dept. Then we will put it the paper for every one to see from local to national. So, before people open their mouths once again look at your dept before they to will be next in the paper.
Then after all this happens, each county in PA should go to a County Dept and have Career staff. Heck most areas already have Career staff because some companies are running out the volunteers and the taxpayers either have fork for Career Staff or the "BIG" station they need to build. My 2 cents worth

First grangeville, then hanover #1, then midway, then kingsdale, now asper next irishtown, when will it stop, maybe when some people stop going from one company to another after they cause trouble at one.

Provided that you can read, Act 84 guidelines are straightforward. Follow them, and if you have a question, call the Auditor General's office. I've been an FRA Treasurer, and have straightened out messes made by lazy and stupid people. When an audit comes back with notations, get off your duff and fix the problem, right away, and then you don't end up in the newspaper.

I agree with "What I think." It doesn't matter if you are paid or volunteer, There is scandal everywhere. Here are some examples. Did you know that in the last month, a firefighter in Florida who was on scene of a MVA, took the patients foot for their cadaver dog?!? The foot had to be amputated in order to extricate the individual from the vehicle. A PARAMEDIC in New York City (after being warned one time before) wrecked the ambulance in a snow bank after they swerved to avoid hitting an on coming car. You know why?? BECAUSE THEY WERE TEXTING SOMEONE AND NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO THE ROAD!! Thank god it was a non transport and no one was hurt. One last incident. This happened in the UK. A paramedic was drunk when driving an ambulance on an urgent call-out during which he was involved in an accident.

I am no way condoning what goes on with their funding with the state. But, my point here is.. Things happen everywhere.

I would challenge Louie alexander to produce those trining records that he say's Asper's. I can remember a garage fire that Louie drove the engine. Thank god Bendersville pulled their own lines upon arrival because they don't trust Aspers and behold Louie couldn't get water out of the pump until the chief got from Co.27's area where he actually lives. Maybe we should talk about the Zeigler fire a few years ago. The tapes from that call can always be listened to to see what kind of command structure was used. Hell they even have residents in their first due ems area that ask for Biglervilles ambo because they don't the poor service from Aspers.

Do you have a point? Are you alleging that compliance is difficult, or are you babbling?

Oh me and oh my,
Aspers Fire Company has finally died.
You can say and you can yell,
All their firefighters are as dumb as hell,
But do you know or do you see,
What it takes to be a firefighter or EMT?
We are all supposed to be a "band of brothers"
Not true at all, they're all against one another.
You talk about fire companies that have closed in the past,
But now you will see, the responses wont be as fast.
You talk that their members are criminals,
What fire company doesnt have some, even if minimal?
The truth should be told that this is a horrible game,
A game that hurts the residents; how lame, lame, lame!
I can agree that maybe its time to close,
But why didnt anyone help them before they were in over their nose?
It has time for this riddle to end,
I say NO More closures in Adams and lets make amends!

*Im The Riddler and I support mergers, when its appropriate. I support closures when service is compromised, but all should be careful when choosing.*

to the Riddler & all others who don't know the inside story ... check the facts before you defend these people just because they happen to be a fire dept. The damage they have done to the image of fire & EMS crew is incredible. The "propaganda master" of Aspers calls the papers to try to blow his own horn. Just listen to him tell how great he is. Why doesn't the paper contact the other parties he refers to & get both sides of the story rather than print the slander that comes from Jake.

Aspers has been offered the opportunity to merger & has refused a number of times. They sit only a mile from Bendersville station but have declined to join them. When they're gone, Bendersville will be very capable of adequately covering the district.

Do news papers do that? I know that gettysburg times doesn't! They have burned enough of the Chiefs in the area that they don't tell times anything anymore for fear the words being twisted. The Times is a rag!

I am not DEFENDING them I am simply stating be careful what you wish for. There have been other fire companies in this county who think they " can handle the additional terrority and FAIL miserably.

They are working on a Merger with Kingsdale, and Midway. They new company will be called KingAspWay Emergency Social Bingo Club. Please come out and support them, do you have any idea how much electric it takes to run the heat tape on a Tanker that sits outside? Chris Topper will be the New Chief, he is already negotiating with several places that are in need of parking lot anchors. You never know when the asphalt might blow away.
