I have said this once before and I will continue to say it. If you have negative things to say towards a fire department, then you need to grow a pair and join the fire department. That way you can bump your gums to the appropriate people instead of hiding behind a computer screen stirring the pot.
I'm not condoning what is going on with Aspers Fire Co however, running with a fire department myself, I know what it's like dealing with the political bullshyt.

EMTChick...are your initials S.H.? Sounds like something I have heard before. I disagree that you have to join a fire department to have an opinion on thier lack of cooperation with the community leaders that are elected to represent the community. After all isn't that the job of the elected community officials...to hear the issues of thier citizens and take action? According to state legislation, fire departments are government entities and are subject to municipal regulation. I believe in this case negative comments are not only appropriate but have been rightfully earned by the fire company.

First to Hamilton Twp Supervisor, why would you even make a comment like that. Put your name on your post, because you are a total jacka$$. If you had a paid department, the township wouldn't be able to pay you the hundreds of dollars you make a month because the UNION FIREFIGHTER is making double that. I commend UHAUL, United Hook and Ladder!, great way to combine resources.

CLOSE ASPERS!!! What a bunch of LOSERS!!! I can't believe it's taken this long to shut the doors on that 1/2 assed no nonsense po-dunk place. Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you!!! I can't stop laughing.

OK I'm done, I will respond to the comments I generate!!!! LOSERS!!!!!

I believe the people of Menallen Township have already spoken on this matter so I don't know why the supervisors are even wasting their time. At a meeting a few years back we made it perfectly clear that we did not want Aspers Fire Company. There was proof of the EMS chief (don't know if that is the proper title) hiding funds by using personal accounts, accusations of thefts while they were in people's homes, along with many other questionable issues. They have been a laughing stock in our area for a long time. Nobody trusts them with their life or to enter their homes. Get rid of them already.

No, my initials are not S.H. If you take notice, my isp is Hanover. It's just irritating to me that people get on here throwing stones and have no idea what is going on in the fire department other than is what is written in the Hanover Evening Mistake. Then you ones like Professional Firefighter who is a DISGRACE to his/her fire department with the negativity against his fellow brothers/sisters.

As I said, I don't condone what is going on. The lack of cooperation will ultimately in the end come down on them. HOWEVER, I don't feel that it is right that people come on here and bash them. Go to the fire department and tell them how you feel directly rather than hiding behind a screen name.

EMT, your living in a fantasy world, if you think the Professional FF dude is badmouthing fellow brotherhood members. he speaks the truth, only the dim-witted or members of Apser's themselves would argue he speaks the truth.

The townships need to pull their box cards and funding, and they to will die a slow death like Midway and KLingsdale have done. Everyone knows where the funds will end up, meaning in whose pockets (a certain family)

They just need to be shut down. They always have and always will be nothing but trouble. They have given the volunteer fire service a black eye.

SHUT THEM DOWN!!!
