Hey all of you hypocrites! The editor of the yearbook deserves a Pulitzer for telling it as it is. There is no doubt that the drug culture has become, and will remain part of high school life. Just look at the rest of us, with our pills and caffeine and performance enhancers. There is no distance between these kids and Barry Bonds and Lindsay L.

It was totally inappropraite, the editor has to be fired! The defense of the story by the students is "it is part of our reality." Guess what geniuses, it's been part of everyones reality for decades! Glorifying it in the yearbook only condones acceptance of an illegal activity. The only thing more idiotic is a parent going straight to the media vs. the school to handle it internally without considering the consequences. She obviously was seeking the same attention these "teens" were looking for by promoting the story in the yearbook.

Being a student at conifer, I think that the world is just over reacting. things like this happen all the time, and it never becomes a big deal until someone decides to become offended. Yes, it was inapropriate, but I speak for a large portion of Conifer High School, We Love our yearbook!

All School Districk should be alowed to show the office staff what is going in the Year Books and they have to say yes or no.

Or We need to change this. Platte Canyon School Districk is a lot strick with pictures that the kids take and put in the Year book.

Year Books are full of memories from Elementry school to High School.

The reason i say this is beacause i am a student at Platte Canyon High School. I know what has to be dune before they send the Yearbooks home with the kids and before they have friends and teacher signe it.

I think that is a really great thing, maybe now some people wont be so uptight, dont get mad, kids DO these things its a part of high school life, making hard choices. Be respectful of what the editor was trying to do.

The editor was very irresponsible. True, these things go on but should not be in a yearbook. Did the yearbook have a page dedicated to the dropouts? Will next years yearbook have a page dedicated to the two boys who died the day the yearbook came out when their van went off the highway at Shaffers Crossing (7 passengers, 5 seats) killing two occupants. I believe they were intoxicated. Date rape, and sexual abuse also happen, will they have a page for that too?

A yearbook is for the good things in school, not the stupid things we did.

I think it's artistic and if the students are making the yearbook, they should be able to choose which memories go in. Why force them to put pictures in the yearbook that have no significance to them or how they spent thier highschool years?

Did you Garduate from Conifer High School? If not next time when doing the year books you should get it approve through the office or your principal. He can tell them what can stay or need to be taken out

People were so shocked even i was shocked to hear about Conifer High School Year Book. Year Books are suppose to be for memories throught out the year not kids drinking.

Platte Canyon has a strick policy the staff has to look at the year book before the kids get it. They have to approve the pictures.

Who does your Year Books? I mean put them together does Life Tuch do it? Platte Canyon Has Life Tuch putting the our Year Books together.

Last year, I joined the Conifer yearbook late into the year. This year, however, I am an editor and I must convey that it is pointless to create a conservative yearbook. High school kids aren't babies...and we aren't stupid. Maybe parents should take a hint as to what their children are exposed to! Just because the page on "drugs" was controversial doesn't mean it was unbalanced. And may I add that the student journalists who worked on that page had every legal right to publish EVERYTHING they said. So everyone really needs to get over their bias opinions!

John do you really think denying it's reality will make it non-existant and that it was for attention?

Justin, how are you an editor of anything if you can't spell basic words?

Back to the story at hand. You dumb ass people are raising your kids in a boring little mountain town with no excitement except for that found in drugs. I'm more shocked this didn't happen a long time ago.

Thank you Conifer High for disgracing our community by creating this 'factual' yearbook.

Be proud of yourselves, authorities should find you in the pictures and question you, if not arrest you. They did that during the Smoke Out up in Boulder, do you think you're immune?

While applying for work in todays highly competitive job market, where it sometimes often gets down to two highly qualified applicants, employers go back and review a potential employers records. With the internet it is easily done. I'm not talking about the local flipping burger type job, I'm talking about a good paying job that you may get much satisfaction from, only to lose out on due to this flexing of your freedoms given you by the yearbook staff. To risk your future on such acts is just beyond stupid.

Yeah, you made your point, but people already knew there's a drug and alcohol problem, you think they didn't? More stupidity, yes let's by all means promote drug and alcohol use by showing students having fun while using. The fact that you broadcasted and have your pictures documenting such behavior is really flagrant stupidity.

Also not everyone uses, how righteous of you to put this out there as if representing all students. Yeah, be really proud of yourselves. Also know that Conifer High School represents our whole community, so because of a few lousy students that put their spin on their year's experience at school, they taint the reputation of our high school in our community.

The teacher overseeing this yearbook production should be fired. To have allowed the students to be so asinine.

There was a reason behind stopping cigarette commercials on TV, in addition to the trend moving to not smoke in scenes in movies.
Does that mean folks don't smoke? Of course not, people will smoke, but it doesn't have to be glorified or advertised.

Well angry parent is'nt somebody ticked off. Tell me in high school did you ever do something wrong, did you ever by chance, speed, go to a party that got a little too wild or even smoke? ou seem to be overly self motivated "it makes our town look bad and the teacher should be fired" well too bad, didnt happen, but guess what they can't censor, it's this neat little thing called THEFIRST AMMENDMENT so ya know maybe you should do a little research before trying to have bravado it makes ya look like an idiot

How are you an editor? There is no way anybody who can write with a shred of decency, yet alone edit other peoples writing, would put together something that wasn't only poorly crafted, but also sounded like an elementary school child wrote it.

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Capricorn

With dark Pluto under pressure in your sign, this rather grave mood has been colored by the current state of a relationship. It isn't going as well as you would like, probably because you're feeling distanced. It's an inward-looking phase, full of obstructions, but best not to worry about things that might never happen, nor to stew about problems that are little more than ancient history. It's the festive season, so raise the cup of kindness and help those less fortunate than yourself.
