Overnight search continues for armed suspect in Whiteside County

Illinois State Police, using helicopter equipped with infrared technology, attempted to find an armed suspect who fled into cornfields near Rock Falls Thursday night.

We are in Rock Falls right now Nicholas Sheley has killed 4 or 5 people in a apartment complex behind the Rigler's gun store and 1 out of the deaths was a baby

We live in Sterling and just got a call that Sheley is cornered by police near the Latin American club on the west side of town...keep your fingers crossed

it was 2 adult males a19yr. old female and her 2yr. old child it was said it looked as though thay were butchered.

thats a relief people all over whiteside have there doors and windows locked watching the News and he should be in prison for killing so many people and killing an innocent baby.

I am tentatively relieved too - just hoping they really can catch him this time. Still waiting to hear. Everyone I know is locking their doors and watching out for their neighbors like never before.

We've gotten a couple of calls with conflicting news about where Sheley is cornered (Rec center, LA club, etc). There are usually people in this areas at this time of day - so I am hoping the best for all of them.

well a 2 year old is just a baby cause its not a toddler yet

We've heard something similar. This is horrible. The Wagon Wheel isn't far from where we heard he was cornered - I REALLY hope he didn't escape them again. This is horrifying.

I heard that a few more people got killed near Griswald street in Sterling - not sure of the validity of that but...Police cars and news cameras are all over that area.

Whiteside Chicks - the McDonalds in RF is very close to the site of the first shooting (3 adults, 1 child)...could be the same event?
