Complaint about Blue Ribbon Kennels

We used Blue Ribbon for our dog boarding about four times in the past over 3 to 4 day weekends. The last time we picked our pet up we were 1 1/2 hours late due to a blizzard and Jody charged us another day-24 hour charge of $15.00. We asked her if she could charge less & she refused. She told us her cash register does not allow it.The prior time we boarded our pet we came to pick our dog up and I had to wait over 30 minutes for Jody to come & open the kennel up because she was late due to a snow storm. I was late for work that morning as I had to drive my dog home and drive back into Ashland to go to work. I mentioned that to Jody & she did not care. I do not recommend this kennel when the owner does not have common customer service courtesy!! Where is Northern Wisconsin hospitality! Actually it is stupidity on the owners part as she is now losing $100.00's of future business!

We have left our dog there to be groomed before & never has he had such a terrible grooming. His face was bleeding below his eye, nothing was said about this only Jodie would call us the next day, which she never did. We sent her several e-mails before she even responded. We had boarded him several days before that & didn't feel we should have to pay a boarding fee that day he was groomed
she said that was the way it was & she would make no consession for this, & only had excuses about the way the dog was groomed.
Needless to say we will never use the Blue Ribbon again.

Don't feet bad, Jody has the worst personallity of anyone in Ashland. She just doesn't care about anything. Never smiles, never greets customers. If she doesn't like her job, QUIT! I've known Jodi for years , and she always was great with our pets , until the last couple of years. We boarded our dog with her and she was only there one day. Next day we stopped to visit our puppy , I've never seen her like that before , she was growling I had to get down on my knees and beg her to come out when she finaly came out her whole body was shaking . Right then we took our puppy home . We tried to talk to Jodi about it all she would say was , our puppy was fine . I have never seen my dog like that before , or since. Needless to say we don't take our dogs there any more.

I have requested several things/items of Jody and other staff of Blue Ribbon and they have went beyond what I expected to help me with this, including unique dog food brands and specialty pet items. I will continue to purchase from Blue Ribbon.

I have taken my pet there several times for boarding and have never had any problems with their services. Keep up the good work Jodi and other staff members of Blue Ribbon Kennels.

Jody has boarded our dogs for 35 yrs. I think that says something! However, recently I haven't been pleased with her haircuts. I have a feeling she's been training another girl to groom...

I'm very sorry your puppy "growled" that does not mean anyone did anything bad to your baby. I really don't remember this situation its been a few years and I see hundreds of people and pets yearly -if I said that I did not have any problems with the pet than I didn't. Perhaps your dog was not well socialized very well at the time, puppys go through stages at different times in their growing formative 1st year and boarding can be stressful keep working on things its never to late to acclimate them to various situations its easier if there younger not impossible maybe now your dog is more social and used to different environments, I hope so and I hope your doing well.

Ist of all my place is not in Ashland its in Bayfield County check your map and update yourself.
Well you have a lot to say and surprisingly I usually talk too much to people sometimes I'm too chatty and they need to go and I'm holding them up! Really- you should not judge a book by its cover. Everyone has good and bad days "Charlie" and just to let you know WE don't charge 3% on Credit Cards any longer AND HAVE NOT FOR YEARS NOW and YES some local and not so local businesses still do charge 3% on Credit Cards LOCALLY! I regularly do business in these places and love the owners and I totally understand it- none of these places are Walmart -they are small town family owned and trying to make it work so they can keep their places running and employees employed. Its obvious you have no idea what that is like. You have no right to tell me to quit my job I think you would be nicer if you stopped insulting people you don't really know. If someone has a question or issue they should be calling me not ruining someone's day by posting nasty insults no matter who it is.

I m sorry your experience was not what you wanted. I did send you an email on it and this is what I got for it.... basically your dog needed more grooming more often than was being done and had a lot of crusty matter around the eye area {which you knew about} this irritates the skin in the corner of eye and scrapes or nicks can happen while trying to remove the matter and it did and I am sorry no groomer wants to cause any discomfort to any pet ever. Also there is a check out time that we have just like anywhere else we try to stick to it. Your pet was done before check out time at 12 noon. No one showed up for the pet until later in the day- We cannot run a business and care for animals all day and not be compensated. No business can. Again I am sorry and I hope your happy going where your going now.

cuz every dog is different, just like us. different dogs will react different. I think you just don't know anything about dogs. 1 time and you make a lifetime choice. wow do you do that with your men.

my dog goes there 5 days a week all year long for 2 years. no problems!! maybe its your attitude.

We have always loved Blue Ribbon!!! We have taken our old boy Buddy there for years and she knew who he was all the time. Now he is gone and we take our Abby there and she is always well taken care of even though Abby is a handful!! Jodi just keep on doing what you are doing!! You do an amazing job!! Thank you for always taking great care of our Abby.
