Why are we only just now hearing about this? If people with medical history such as this gentlemen and the woman last week go missing people should be alerted ALOT sooner than 1 month.

Even if the person is found safe and sound shortly after an alert, the old adage Better safe than sorry applies here.

Most people don't recall much about a stranger they may have passed a week ago much less 1 month.

It may be that he lives alone or has a transient lifestyle that would make it difficult for anyone to realize that he's missing for some period of time. As far as we know, he may have just been reported missing to the Sheriff's Office.

Sad, but unfortunately not that uncommon these days.

This man was reported missing as soon as he vanished but because he is a grown up you have to wait. The laws are foolish if you know someone and you live with them and you know how they behave and you tell the police but they are a grown up with medical problems but wait....... now who knows where and what... Just take a good look at the picture and if you see him please call we are worried to death...
Thanks you

this is my brother and I appreciate all your comments. any exposure is good for our plight. If he has survived this terribly hot summer, I believe he will head for San Diego, California.again thank you for even taking note of him and your concern, God bless

I thought I read in another article that he was last seen on foot. Did the police do an area search for him?

We have an investigator with the Hanover Sheriff's dept. actively working on this case, the only way the police can help is if he is stopped for vagrancy or a crime. If it's vagrancy they can only alert him that his family is looking for him, the problem here is that he is ill, and sometimes with epilepsy he is not always in his right mind and may not be thinking rationally. He could also have a seizure and be hurt or killed while he's out of it. the day this all came about the police were called and they spoke with him in the front yard. the officer asked for his I.D. and seeing that his drivers license was revoked ( I can only guess by his doctors orders)proceeded to take it away from him, so he is out there without any I.D.

I know it sounds insane, but it took a long time before the doctors actually took his drivers license away from him, up to that point he had been driving. It is very easy for problems like this to go unnoticed and people really do fall through the cracks and don't receive the help they need.

So in other words, they have not conducted a physical search for your brother. I would argue that he can be declared "missing - endangered" due to his medical condition. I'm also guessing there hasn't been any activity on his bank account, credit cards, etc. I think you should request that the investigator organize and conduct a thorough ground search effort in the area he was last seen.

Put his picture on CNN news, someone will know and respond if they have seen your brother Mrs. Denton. God bless you and family.
