John Payne has got to be the worst. He sexually harassed me and several other females that rented from him. He doesn't like to repair, and will use his key to walk in when he feels like it.

They are awesome, we had just moved in June from Springfield and couldn't find anything. We had a few mix ups at first with the lease but they did everything they could to fix it! They do not bother you unless you have called them to come over and fix things within a day! Lindsey the office clerk or front desk is super polite and welcoming while Tyler one of the Leasing Agents is down to earth and is very nice!! Obviously no one ever says anything about places unless it's bad so heres so actual advice. Rent from CPM!
I'd say you are one of the lucky ones then. I've watched Dan the owner actually walk out of the side door just to avoid tenants who have shown up with concerns about their place, because he won't return their calls.

I rent from ray boothe now and thought he was a kind man until he came to my job today and said out loud that i have a disconetion notice for my gas bill. He said to me instead of buying a new car i need to pay my gas bill. But dont i have to have tranportion to get to work? I if i cant get to work i cant pay ameren ue or his old ass eather. Anyways the point is he didnt have to come to my job telling my clients and my manager personal information about me. Besides my gas isnt even disconected yet and i was planning on paying it on friday and my job is not the place to talk about my bills. That shit is crazy! And im sure the law would love to here this story! And im also sure the health department would love to here about all the chiped paint on the windows. And the spray painted bath tub. I can only take showers unless i want paint to float up my pussy! The fire department would also love to know about how the lights come off and on by them self and the bats flying around in the walls. Hell unless he wants me to start talkin he better stand down!

Rob Alongi! He owns houses and lives on Lyons st. slumlord and stole my deposit when I cleaned the place better than it looked before I moved it. The little deposit I got back ($75 out of $400) it took him a year to send me a check!
To second this opinion, I too rented from Mr. Rob Alongi on Lyons. We stayed in one of his houses, and there was a sistern in the rear, under the porch, that would stink to high heaven when it was hot out. Sewage smell throughout the house. The place was alright, however, when we asked for things to be fixed, they were never looked at. The neighbor wanted to use OUR hose and spicket to wash their car, and as a result, the copper pipe burst somehow. Luckily, I was there when it happened, and there was a shut off valve for it in the kitchen. The house had to be inspected by the city while living there, and so maintenance decided to take all the storm windows and screens off, set them around the house and took some with them. He did put up a privacy fence in the rear, really nice. There was one broken board, cracked in half. Maintenance came to paint the interior of the house near the end of the lease, and they got paint on one of our leather couches and wool oriental rug. Both were ruined, took them to the curb and reported it. Rob said 'shouldn't have been in their way'. And, towards the end, Rob said it was OK to the next tenants to leave their stuff in an empty room of our house! How nice of him to offer that suggestion.

We left the place in about the same, if not better, shape it was rented to us as. I cleaned the house, top to bottom, even the fan blades and vents. Only thing I couldn't get perfect was the oven, but it had been dirty from the start! We got our rent deposit back, out of $800, we got ~$250. He said there were missing storm windows and screens, and paint on the carpet (from their painters!), a broken fence board, a hole in the closet wall (was there from the start), and a few holes in the vinyl siding (from his lawnmower running over rocks!). The rest was for cleaning. The cleaning lady wasn't there but an hour, I know, because I had to make two trips for moving, with two cars, and the new tenants were moving on in. I told him his maintenance men took some of the screens and windows! The fence board had been broken! Did not budge, did not care. I had put in a new thermostat, fixed the half-A$$ installed toilet with a new gasket ring and fill valve, fixed the tub mixet faucet, fixed the dryer.

Words of advice: beware of who you rent from. Don't waste your own money fixing things. When the last month's rent is a couple weeks from due, have the landlord inspect the dwelling so you can just utilize your deposit as last month's rent. If they disagree on that matter, you know there will be trouble.

Do not rent from Darren patterson! Hes a nice guy with a cool attitude. But far as coming out fixing stuff no. He will ignore your text messages to him and phone calls. He put me and my family into a roach infested dump. The roaches are so bad there until they live inside the walls. And they get into any and everything in your house. And Darren dont give a damn. And if you tell him about the roaches. He will just scend a guy out to spray. And that makes the roaches come out even more. I am so glad me and my family is out of that apartment.

I can readily concur -- stay away from the Links, the Greens, or anything else owned by Lindsey Management. The last time I ever lived in any of their properties was 10 years ago in Rogers, Arkansas, when I had to move before my lease was up (job transfer) and they made me pay for the rest of the months in my lease. I will NEVER move into another Lindsey Management property as long as I live. They are CROOKS!

Oh, and about the people who had problems with the people with the middle-Eastern sounding names...given the hotbed of terrorism that that part of the world is, I don't trust anyone from that part of the world, either -- I'd run like heck, too.

Rented from REMI six years, They came into my apartment once a month or more for maintenance even though I was changing the AC filter because of my allergies. Threatened to charge me for Furnace/AC unit if I did not let them in. Multiple times men came let themselves in while I was home to do some maintenence without warning....things came up missing also..They also came in with men in suits to inspect once in a while, without warning. They get you in, make you want to leave and take your deposit. Mark is a Lawyer, and a nasty one with no regrets. Bet he has big issues! I have more stories about him!

No matter how desperate you are do not rent form Don Fries. He owns Amelia townhouses east central and a few filthy places south of town. Other than being a twisted/sick/ utterly disgusting human being who has never taken a shower in his life and pees where he eats, he will make your life impossible with having you sign a lease that is foolproof. Examples: The place will be dead filthy when you get in but he will expect you to have the carpets professionally cleaned after you leave. Because he is such a disgusting human being, no maintenance guy stays to work for him more than a few days, thus you will never have any maintenance work done. Also you're expected to have renter's insurance and show him that since most of his tenants are junkies and keep setting their places on fire. You may also kiss your deposit goodbye since there is no way he will return it under the absurd pretensions supported by the lease.

This subleasee was, without doubt, the biggest disaster we have ever encountered in more than 40 years in business. She refused to pay rent from day one and then found every excuse in the world to blame us for all of her problems...which basically boiled down to NO MONEY to pay anybody. There was no black mold, there was no nothing. She invented it. We had licensed professionals inspect the unit. They found nothing. She wanted to live free, pay nothing. When we finally got rid of her, every creditor in the US came to us to try to find her forwarding address to try to collect what she owed them. She should thank us for not providing them her forwarding address.

The worst property management and the worst properties I have ever seen are GARRY LEWIS PROPERTIES. The management is rude, the apartments have so many problems because of poor upkeep. They like to bait and switch, that is, show you a clean beautiful "model" apartment and then you get a dirty, unpainted, spider infested unit. These places are so poorly built you can expect $300.00 electric bills for a small 2 bedroom apartment. No pride in the look of the place. Big property owner only cares about the profit line.
