Meanwhile the victim, who by all accounts was a lovely person, almost doesn't exist.

He should not be allowed end on end continuances avoiding the court system if he is well enough to be going to work. His excuse, after all, is that he needs more time to recover. It seems to me it would take less effort to show up and face your responsibilities than to go to work. Unless of course your job is aiding and abetting you in avoiding your responsibilities.

And we wonder why the world is like it is. Actually, I don't.
