I have wondered about this myself. I cannot seem to find a good church in this area for my family and myself to attend.

Because everyone has lost faith and they get the door slammed in thier face when going door to door...The government has took prayer out of schools and everywhere else and make people feel like you are sinning if you talk about christ in public...I believe in christ but i do it in my own home where its safe from being sued, arrested or judged...

one reason many churchs arent going out witnessing about CHRIST is simple.. they dont know themselves.they are to afraid to offend anyone with the messege of CHRIST crucified and the finished work of the cross.they think if they tell people how it is and how it is going to be that they will lose the all mighty dollar and some will stop attending there.they tell about how to be a good person and treat others and how much money to send them in order to get a blessing but they fail to tell about whats going to haoppen if we dont do as the bible tells us to do.it is a faith walk we all are into, not a financial walk.if many would just look around they would see prophesy's being fullfilled everyday yet they still chase the money instead of the sinner and lost souls. there is going to be many preachers and christians with alot of blood on there hands come judgement time.i applaud those that have started a prayer group and trying to reach the lost and the youth. for every door that gets shut on you, GOD will open another for you to witness to.just pray and invite to holy spirit into your meetings and he will guide you. if GOD softens ur heart and leads you to witness to a perticular person, chances are that he has allready done a work in the one ur sent to also. so that they will be ready and actually expecting you. so march on. just remember to pray and seek the holy spirits guidance in this and you will do good. but expect some hatefull and snotty remarks and rejection. just remain polite and someday that rude one might remember ur good will and come seeking you to lead them to the LORD. i dont type well enought o explain the way i would like to and im very crunched for time now but i hope this has helped at least one person.it re juvented me to go out and witness more. GLORY TO GOD SAVED BY GRACE.

Please....don't come to my door. Going door to door puts you in the position of forcing your point of view on someone who may not think the same way.

I, personally, would not slam the door in your face. I would, in fact, be very polite to you. Anyone with a shred of decency would be.
That does not change the fact that you would be unwelcome. What gives you the right to force me into a situation I don't want to be in, in my own home? Any place that is a public area, I have the choice of walking away, with a polite shake of my head. At home...the only choice you give me is listen to something I'm not interesting in hearing, or be rude to a guest (albeit an unwelcome and uninvited guest) in my home. Both of those choices are distasteful to me. So, please, when you talk of door to door, think for a moment about the position you're putting some people in.

Not sorry

You are welcome to come right up 371 north and come to Amazing Grace Bap. It is only a few miles and won't take anytime to get there. We have a wonderful pastor and congregation . We are country people and dress country. The only requirement we have is to be there ! Give us a try.

find a good assembly of GOD or just look for a spirit filled one. we have some in this parish that are doing wonderfull things in GODS name. that are preaching the finished work of the cross. but beware and test the spirits and make sure it is a church that believes like you do, avoid one that goes agaisnt the bible and what you personelly believe.we are in dire straits as a nation . the writing is on the wall and our SAVIOR is coming sooner than anyone expects. if u havnt dont this yet, go to the library and check out the 'left behind' series 2 books at a time and read this. it will open some eyes and this is a example of what some think end times will be 'like' bare in mind tho that no one living really knows.and i cant stress enough, that if you cant find a 'home' church to belong to. join a media church. i recommend sonlife radio. in our area it is 104.9 fm or u can listen 24 hours a day online. this station never sleeps. GOD BLESS YOU.

the last commandment that christ gave to his people was to love one another as I have loved you.He meant all over the world not just 1 place.back in the 1940s 50s churches were compassionate they helped the poor feed and clothed people and gave with no thought of return. They helped strangers travelers and went the extra mile for others.I was homeless at one time.I went to different churches to see just how they would react.I was dirty unshaved, lonely desparate for God,and you know not one of them offered me something to eat clothes to wear,or even soap and water.they just didint get near me.I looked up in the sky and with tears in my eys I said"Lord why was I refused?.God replied "when you done it to the least of these you have done it to me for I was hungry and they gave me no food.I was thirsty and they gave me nothing to drink I was a stranger and they took me not in naked and they clothed me not sick and in prison and they visited me not.the churches I went to were wells without water. They did not do as God said to do.I have witnessed to countless people.I have gave to the poor, helped the weak and frail and did everything with no thought of return.I give God all the praise honor and glory.Today if someone comes into your church le me would you do as they did me or whould you keep the command that christ gave to his people?churches Im sorry to say are falling away.look at first baptist and open door fellowship Split! look at betheny cumberland and bethany independent Split! A house divded can not stand.churches need to remember the story of the sheeps and goats.they need to open their hearts to the poor because they were once poor. All glory honor and praise goes to God.Its all about him,and his death on the cross for our sins. His last commandment? LOVE ONE ANOTHER all over the world.Go and do likewise.its not hard to go up to a poor person and give them a meal, clothes, and a gentle hug.when you done it to the least of these you have done it to me.Hear the word of the lord churches and obey!

My vision of a church: open 24 hours a day 7 days a week help feed and cloth poor a place to pray worship, get counseling, asplace to go to be alone with God,people giving loving helping others.and not asking for anything in return.people going the extra mile for others, being a blessing and miracle to all that enter with a need, desparate for God.weeping for those that weep mourn with thoughs that mourn lauch with those that laugh.A church of love for God and for others.Im going to build that church one day.there wont be any little clicks,no partiality,no favoritism.the gates of hell will not prevail against it because Gods glory will fill the building, and love and compassion will always be there. The devil himself will never enter in.gods glory will prevent him from that.all those who are hungry, thirst,a stranger, naked, sick and need healing will in no wise be turned away.that my friends is the church I have a vision of.

Although I am Baptist, I do agree with what you're saying about people going door to door!

An old pastor of ours once had a Jehovah's Witness come to his door (in the parsonage right across from our BAPTIST CHURCH)! He, of course, let the fellow in and let the man say what he had to say. When he was done, he asked if he could say a few words and started talking about what HE believed the Bible taught! The man got aggravated and walked out! My pastor thought this was sort of rude since he had listened intently to what the Witness had to say.

I wondered that too. If a person comes to the door and the person wants to talk about God and such they should ask and respect the home owners right to say no. I once had to close the door in the face of two adults and one child. When I nicely told them I was a different religion and had a church and my own beliefs, they shoved the child to the front to start singing. After she finished singing I again tried to send them on their way - again they had the girl start in.
I don't mind them coming around so much - it's their staying after you tell them no thank you!

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Virgo

If the December sales are calling you, you'd better work out a budget before you leave the house. Otherwise, you'll be tempted to use your credit card first and only consider the cost of your purchase later on. Even so, you could track down some great bargains now, provided you don't get carried away and buy items that you don't really want simply because you're astonished by the amount of money you'll save in buying them. But you'll save even more money if you don't buy them!
