Also in the Ashland Cemetary there is a big copper statue of a weeping woman with a rose held to her chest. The rose is always red. Nothing else though. There are two graves in front of it that have these big marble covers over them with the star of david carved into them and the name on them is Ringo. I loved that statue and would go take pictures of it all the time when I was in high school. One day we were looking through a bunch of old family pictures that my papaw had and I found this picture of this little girl sitting on one of those graves. The picture was really old. I asked my family who it was and they had no clue. We never had any Jewish people in our family. I always thought that it was erie.
There also is the story of the Ashland Tragedy. The little girls that were murdered are buried in the Ashland Cemetary.
The statue that someone spoke about earlier is the disappearing statue at Golden Oaks in Catlettsburg. It has to be a full moon and around midnight but when you drive by you can see her disappear.
There are a couple of books available at the Jesse Stuart Foundation about Ghosts in Kentucky. I have 2 of them.
A really great ghost story is the story of Octavia Hatcher. It is in Pikeville, but she really is buried there. Google it and read the story.

Do you remember the house that was where hospice is now? It was supposedly haunted. Charlie Manson used to live over at Andover apartments and his uncle lived in that old house. He was found killed tied up and had his tongue cut out. The old cement factory in Ironton is really scary too.
the cement factory is freakin scary

This is crazy bc I live in a haunted house. Tonight a few of my friends were over & we had a lady come by to read our cards. She also has psychic abilities, so she did a white candle reading. She accurately picked up on 3 of my deceased family members. She gave me details about a loved one's death that blew me away! No one knew anything about this but me!
While doing my reading, Something fell loudly in the back part of the house, it shook us ALL up, we never found the origin of the noise either. Then while doing my friend's reading, we all heard a profound noise of what Sounded like someone tapping their fingers on a table. I have iived with this stuff for years.

that old mansion was built in 1876, eleven years after the civil war and the end of slavery.

I have stayed in that house on prospect. My youth group leader lived there. There was supposed to have an underground railroad in it, but no one ever uncovered it.
I stayed there a lot and I never felt like the place was haunted. I think that some people just attract spirits and unfortunately I am one of those people. I lived in a trailer over on Old Buckley that was extremely haunted. We had a knocking spirit we had a black shadow that would loom over my husband while he was asleep and we had a spirit that tormented our dogs. Doors flew open, we would hear knocking on all the windows. It made the dogs crazy. They would act like they had had their tails pulled and then they would hide behind the furniture and only walk along the walls.. I also lived in a house next door to the trailer and it was haunted too. I thought for a long time that it was my grandmother haunting that place. Everytime you would wash dishes you could smell white shoulders in the house. The doors would open and shut and the tvs and stereos would turn on my theirselves. one time my aunt came over to redecorate my room. She ripped all the old wallpaper down and went to lunch. when she came back she heard a noise and went back into my room. my hairdryer was plugged in turned on and laying under my pillows.

<quoted text>thank u so much. As soon as i get back down that way i'm going there. What is up there now? Can u go inside? When we would visit my dad we had to stay in the lobby or in the outside park. Dad talked alot about the dead that still walked around the basement. As a 7 or 8 year old really didnt want to heard about it now i wish i had my dad is dead over 30 years now. Mom's been gone for over 4 years. So there no one to ask. Does anyone know anyone that was in there as a patient there?
I advise anyone to stay away from the th hospital not because of ghost but because safe harbor is a domestic violence shelter really strict on strangers being around they could possibly have u arrested besides the hospital has been turned into apartment anyway.

Oh yeah the Paramount is definitely haunted. I volunteered there when I was in high school and so many odd things happened at night. There's a church, I can't remember the name of it, but it's up by King's Daughters. It is haunted by a man as well. My aunt used to clean there and we had several experiences with him.
Is your name cam?

My dad's house on Belmont St is haunted. It never shows itself, just walks up and down the stairs a lot. No idea who/what it is.
The cement factory in Ironton is very scary.
The adobe colored house on Lexington Ave is haunted. There's another house on Lexington that has had two suicides and a murder (all of the same family). No one lives there very long.
Also Charles Manson's uncle was murdered on Pollard Rd. Don't know if it's haunted or not, but my uncle was a police officer at the time it happened and he said it was an awful crime scene.

I live in the old TB Hospital. The building was converted to apartments and it is very clost to a domestic violence shelter. They're are cameras and anyone who appears to be questionable is subject to having the police called on them. Pathways is near there as well but they are two totally different properties.

madam, i respect u and anyone that lives there. And i would not cause harm to anyone. I most certain would not want to go into any apartments. There no memory's there i could only go to to the lobby and the outside area. It just a big part of of my childhood. And since my dad died when i was 15 there's not alot of memory's that did'nt invole a hospital. He
Died at the va hospital in w.v. And yes i've been there i walked the grounds, and i went to the rooms that he had and the one he died in. Agin no harm intend to anyone at safe harbor,i know the people that live there their lifes has been hard and abusive. But no way would i be a threat to anyone.
