For the most they are a bunch of hardworkers that are underpaid. Most of them really care about kids and try to help.

There are a lot of hard worker's at Boyd County Social Services. They don't get paid enough for what they do. They definitely need to be respected because the worker's have a tough job.

BCSS are NOT what most of you seem to believe. Boyd Co. and Greenup Co. remove and put up for adoption, more children than any other counties in the state. Statistics are available online. Just look it up. They seem to enjoy ripping families apart and playing God. Even when it isn't drug related. So don't try to go there. So many naive people believe, trust and respect them. It's crazy what can happen to under educated parents in this area. Just crazy!

Ok there is this girl from Ashland. She had a child with a guy whos parents were from greenup county. She was going through some rough times after they split up and her son stayed with his grandparents for awhile. She called him EVERYDAY and also went and seen him a few times a week and would take him overnight and things. When the grandparents found out she was dating a black man they went to greenup social services and told them that the mother had sexually molested the child and that the grandma (Mothers mom) had also done the same. They were granted full custody of the child. The mother works 40 hours a week as a waitress and married a black man who recently was Honorably discharged from the Army and she finally got to see her son for the first time in over a year about a week ago and it was supervised visitation. The child was even saying "My papaw says I can't talk to you" "My papaw says I have to call you "By her Name" not mommy" ... This is absolutely rediculous all because they are racist people. Their own son signed his rights away from the child said he was addicted to drugs just so he don't have to pay child support. She has to pay 300 a month to them plus they get assistance. THey are both in their 70's and it's evident just by the last visit that they are brain washing that child. SHe has a good head on her shoulders and has her own home doing really great. But they will not let her have her son. THey also took pictures of a cigarette burn on the childs back and said that she had done it. The girl doesn't even smoke! doesn't do drugs nothing! and nooone in her family does. But yet Papaw does. Come on ... Whats wrong with our system!! they are abusing physically and emotionally this child and yet noone is doing anything about it. So many court hearings and nothings done cause she can't get it moved to Boyd County. A bunch of Racist MFers in Greenup I tell ya!!!!!!

Please responde if you know of anything that can be done or have a similar story so maybe we can take care of these idiotic people that have the right to rip your child from your own arms if they want!! Thank You!!

Please be careful in trusting Social Workers in any county with your children. They are wolf in sheep clothing. Maybe not all but most of them are. I have dealt with social workers form Lex and Newport. I live here in Ashland on a hillside apartment and I've seen the workers come in after 3 vists and pull childeren right out of there home. My husband was rip from his home years ago fro now good reason. He had a upper class life untill Social workers took him and put him in a home were he got things done to him the should never be done to a child. But hey you know social workers knows best right? You wouldn't trust your kids with strangers so why put your trust in a social worker? They dont know you and you surely dont know them do you?

First off, social workers do NOT remove kids from homes...judges do. Social workers have to contact a judge before they can remove a child. So before you start poppin off at the mouth, why don't you get your facts straight. Second off, Mink, 3 visits??? If you are called into a home three times, one would think something needs to be done. Third, if they, like many of us, didn't protect the rights of kids... then who would? All people want to talk about is their bad experiences. Sure stuff happens, ppl get wrongly accused, but that is what we have a justice system for. Is justice always right, no, but don't go talking about something until you have your facts. K? Thanks!

You can run down the social workers all you like. If a child is being taken out of the home it HAS TO BE BAD! I've seen some situations where kids should have been taken and it just wasn't bad enough for the court system. So if it gets to the point where they are actually removed by the judge...then it's horrible...beyond belief. If you are defending an abuser..then maybe you need to be checked out too.

Yes they do ... That's the problem ... and NO things do not have to be horrible ... I mean the boy was staying with the grandparents while she was saving the money to get a place (3 weeks) and then when she got the place they didn't want to give him back. They said she never called or came to see him which there was even photo records she got herself showing how many times she called plus pictures with dates stamped from digital camera showing when she had him. So when that stuff started stacking up on them they brough out the molestation and bingo they had full custody. Which is absolutely Obsered. There was never even medical reports or nothing showing any signs of molestation. No physical or mental. How does this S%%% Happen???

[QUOTE who=How does this S%%% Happen???[/QUOTE]
well back in the 80's CAPTA was passed. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but it lacked any form of accountability. Children who are removed earn their state money from social security which the state does not have to account for how it was actually spent. Soon after this hearsay and innuendo seemed to become fact in the eyes of the family courts. When they investigated L.A. County it was found that 97% of children removed should not have been. The only reason a child can be removed according to the USSC is that there is evidence that their life is in danger or that severe harm will befall them.
If as you state this was based on just innuendo with out physical evidence the case worker, the grand parents and any judiciary agents involved are violating civil rights of both the child and parent.
Can anything be done? It depends if there is honest law enforcement available. Educate yourselves before it happens to you or a loved one. American Family Rights Association may have some information that may help. Just remember this going in "they" have only so much money. If it gets too expensive they usually back off. This is why many children are actually left in abusive situations, they are too expensive.

YOu have it all wrong!!! 99% of the time before a child is removed the Social Worker draws up a plan that the parent must follow.. When parents fall to follow the plan they have no chooice but to try to find a home for the child!! the state gives the parents 15 months to get thier act together. 15 months thats a long time for a child.. The case your are talking about there is more to it then you are being told!

Here in AZ we call those appointed lawyers dump trucks cause they will bury you. They know who is paying the bills and it isn't their client. I have had three flat out say if they bring up the families rights in court they would no longer be appointed any cases. I have helped a few families here by steering them toward AFRA and being willing to be a witness at meetings with CPS. Its scary as hell for these families. on the flip side I have seen families that needed help not get any at all and in two cases it cost a child their life.
When facing off against child services expect a service plan full of unnecessary hoops, impossible deadlines, canceled visitations, expensive testing, and delays (to gather evidence allegedly. Abuse occurring in foster care WILL be covered up most of the time, even so per capita with only 34 states reporting in back in 2002 children were 15 times more likely to be sexually abused in foster care. In Wenatchee Washington children who wouldn't admit to being abused were placed in a mental institution until they would say their parents abused them. An interesting note about play therapy, it can create false memories. It is in use in most states. In AZ until the state supreme court put a stop to it Children would be hooked up to a machine by their privates and shown porn, when they reacted they were given electrical shocks. this was done too children in foster care that CPS said had been abused. There is much more out there even sicker done in the name of child services.
