Knock that chip off your shoulder. I don't believe they were speaking of you or anyone else who's paid for their benefits and is really disabled. SSD is not an entitlement program. No one can draw it unless they've paid into it.

I am drawing SS disability too (not SSI nor any other form of public assistance) and I'm one of the few I know who draw it who REALLY can't work. I worked as long as I could and when I signed up, I did it over the phone, they sent me paperwork, which my doctors and I completed and returned, then I was approved within 3-4 months of initially applying. I got my approval letter before I was even eligible to receive a check (there's a 6 mth waiting period). I was never denied and I didn't have to hire an atty.

There are so many ppl on the draw now though who are capable of working, and they do work for cash on the sly, it's just sickening and makes me furious. I knew of a woman who drew SSD and she worked at least 8 hrs a day bartending and waitressing for cash/tips--standing on her feet and running all over the place for hours. That's not disabled! I contacted the SSA and reported her. They said they needed her SS number even though I provided her name and address and the name and address of her employer. Seriously? She continued that scam for years after I reported her, just as so many others do.

It's the scammers who will cause those of us who really need it and worked hard for years to lose our benefits. It frightens me because I really can't work. The nation is broke and SS will eventually stop altogether. The SS recipients will lose out before the welfare recipients do. Can't deprive those young, healthy welfare kings and queens and their countless offspring (who will be raised to scam the same way), but screw the older folks who've worked and need their benefits. This nation is going to reap what it's sown.

I have seen people all over Flatwoods that are receiving foodstamps and welfare, and they are not married but living with their Bf/Gf as if they got married they would lose money.
I have heard people bragging about going to college so they can get loans from the Government to live off of and they still don't want to work, these persons they have multiple children so they can get more money from us taxpayers, then they hope they can get their children classified with A.D.D or A.D.H.D for more taxpayers dollars.
Their also a few Men/ Women in Flatwoods that live off of disability, and they still work as long as they can get paid under the table, so they won't lose that money that they should be getting.
These are the type of scummy people that are destroying America, there is no difference to them and the illegal immigrants that come to our country.
If you can't find work you should be automatically tested ( Physical ) and sent to the military, or they should be putting those type of people to work somewhere, they are a stain on our country,

Yeah, I love how these people are perfectly fine with drugging their own children (ADD/ADHD/depression) so long as they get paid for it. The schools get paid for it too since they're teaching your disabled child, so don't believe it when a teacher tells you your kids needs to be medicated. It keeps the kids docile and out of their hair. What a plan. The kids stay drugged up and the parents/schools both get paid for it.
We're a nation of idiots who blindly trust. Between poison-laced vaccinations, hyperactivity drugs and seratonin-based antidepressants, the up and coming generations don't have a chance. Most people these days are too stupid to be allowed to procreate anyway.

You are aware that you will draw out more on SS than what you have paid into SS over your working career? So, actually you are living on taxpayers dollar.

I get the drugs for my mis-behaved children, I didnt say I gave the drugs to them! I sell them and take them myself! The worse the kids act, the more I get! You dumb people who work your butts off and support me, my bf and my kids are the idiots. Im living the high life. What is even more senseless is that the stupid government that pays for my schooling cant even figure out that I could never get the type of job I am going to school for. With all my tattoos, missing teeth and no license or any way of ever getting one with my record, who would hire me? But every semester, I get a huge check to major in BUSINESS!!! HAHAHA

You are aware that it's insurance, therefore it's a benefit which I paid for, right?

http://www.ssa.gov/disability/
Social Security Disability Insurance pays benefits to you and certain members of your family if you are "insured," meaning that you worked long enough and paid Social Security taxes.

Look, I am on your side. But, you have to agree, you will get much more out of it than you paid into it (including accrued interest). Therefore, if you take out more than you put in, who do you think pays for that? The remaining taxpayers still working are funding your retirement. Thus, you are receiving taxpayers dollars to support you. Much like the others that you degraded for receiving taxpayers dollars.

What if all of us workers all took a disability, so we too can be just like the ones using and missing the system.
Better yet since I am not using disability why not every year ( end of the year ) give back to me what I don't use after what I have paid into SSI. I have seen people pay in SSI for less than a year and many, many years later they are still milking the system. I think yearly those people should be retested by 2 separate doctors, and if they can't work the job they had, find them another job that they can work, and the our tax dollars could make up the difference in their SSI pay.

Because your payments (while working) go toward paying for "Seriously" retirement.

It can't be refunded to you because, it is already spent.

My suggestion is 5 years on welfare for you and your kids. After 5 years we buy you a one way ticket to China so you can live in a socialistic/communist society and we can take back our freedoms and pride in working for a living. There is nothing "good" about always taking and never contributing to society. Welfare is a safety net not a career.

Yes, I can agree that I'll end up drawing more, if I live, than what I paid in. But that's what INSURANCE is for.

I paid for SSD insurance thru paycheck deductions for years, just like all other employed people do, "just in case" something happened. Well something did happen. I would work if I could work, believe me. I hate being a cripple. It's not a great life and SSD is not a great living, trust me. I'd trade places with anyone who's still healthy in a heartbeat. I worked six days per week every week the last six years I worked.(I owned my own business, paid big money in taxes every quarter, and I worked very hard.) I'd love to be able to do that again. You have no idea.

The others I degrade for getting taxpayers dollars paid little or nothing into the system yet they receive because they breathe and breed, so yes, there is a BIG difference and no, I'm not "much like" them, as you stated.

Since you agree that, once you exceed the amount that you paid in, you will be living off the taxpayers dime. What makes you any different/better than anyone else?

i.e.- You can't go to a bank and open an account with $100.00 and expect the bank to let you withdraw $1000.00

Just because, as you stated, you worked. That does not give you the right to take out more than what you put into it (plus interest).

BTW, using my example about the bank and $100 deposit. If the bank allowed that to happen many times, what do you think would happen to the bank? Eventually, the bank will go broke.
