yes because 43 of the 44 presidents being white isn't enough? Because the overwhelming majority of the poor and uneducated are African American somehow the white man is being treated unfairly. I understand being against rewarding people based solely on race. But every February someone gets on and wines about how black history month is racist. Well I think Presidents' Day is sexist since none of them have been woman. As well as racist since the first 43 were all white men and African Americans couldn't even vote for the majority of those elections. The backbone of this country was built on slave labor and prejudice for profit and all the great white Americans in history allowed it to happen. That's why we don't have a white history month. So after that if we have one month out of 12 to honor the men and women who brought that time period to a end. I ask how is that racist against white people?

I am white and this is one of the best post on topix ever! The truth hurts sometimes. Most people today that I know would never have had slaves and the past is ugly. There is both sides today that wants to point the finger at each other, more education of not just slavery but the history of our country is needed.

Really? Answer: Because "white" is a mix of several different races (like a rainbow) thus there's no history in specific to our mixed orientation for there to be aholiday based on it. There is no pure white person in America! Besides we have a past of less oppression then other races.

Now indian history month....That's what should be celebrated!

The indians were screwed over by us before the black people even were!

no you or your parents or grandparents never owned a slave. But I bet your grandparents voted I. A election a black person wasn't allowed to and received a quality of education there black counterparts couldn't. I would also be willing to bet your parents had more opportunities to go to college than African Americans and if you are Middle Aged then you did so as well. I would also be willing to bet that you all have had jobs that have paid you more than a black counterpart solely because you were white. Now I ask since we have established you are not a slave owner. Do you think slavery is the only injustice black people have ever suffered. Or did the Jim Crow law's and separate it equal Just never happen in your back. Just because black people weren't forced to work on farms after the civil war. Doesn't mean the white man and yes yours an my parents and grandparent didn't keep them oppressed for another 100 years. My generation since I am only 25 is the generation with a clean slate in the fight for equality so far. And we can either continue ignoring the entirety of our past and say well I never owned a slave so it's not my problem or we can realize everything else besides slavery that has happened and change the culture of this country to actually reflect liberty and justice for all.

What about the indigenous people you don't see them crying every time the winds blows. The same people that had their women and children killed and their land stolen from them. Not to mention they were enslaved also.

I m a black man, i am 56 my grandfather was a slave, but, we allowed it to happen, all of us blacks on a farm, ll we had to do is kill the old man runnin sh!t.... but enough of slavery, for blacks anyways. What about the jews, theywere slaves as well, slavery has been around far longwr than just gainst the black man..... i believe black history month is racist. The white people are not just one race, either are the blacks. They are not all.african americans, in fact very few are anymore. There should be a white history month to go along with black history, as well as an indian month, and all the other main races.

just wondering something back long ago when mankind started why is it that the white man was ahead of any woman or black man and i know everyone answer is going to be well we didnt have the same opp or rights but im talking before that why is it that most everything was invited by a white male not black or a woman a white male so im guessin why was it the other way around the black man started out and had white men as slaves and everything opposite of what it was to me its dumb to have a black history month and black this and black that black people want to be equal than quit seperating yourself by doing this and no the other 11 months are not white history thats just dumb there is more black churches, websites and colleges that keep your all seperate and even though they allow whites to go why not just be a man or woman black people want to be equal but keep having these things i think its more of a power trip to say hey this is a black thing look at me
