I heard from a credible source that AK Steel, unfortunately, will be closing. This all started a few months back as RUMINT but recent developments have made this much more of a reality. As an employee of AK Steel, this is a shock to me as much as it will be to all of you. Expect an announcement in the next couple of months ...

Here we go again.
Please people don't give this guy what he wants. Raws is a big sh/t stirrer who wants to get his rocks off seeing people worry and enjoys getting a reaction out of people.

Same guy who thinks it's ok to have sex with a 14 yr old boy from a previous thread.

I'm serious, all trolling aside. This is as close to insider information as it gets. I'm not saying there is anything anyone should or can do in particular. Just hope/pray for the best and try to be prepared.

Let it close... If the employees were willing to work for 5 dollars less on the hour without the Union then steel costs would be cut and, as a result, jobs saved. But these greedy Union workers aren't willing to take a pay cut. I love seeing greed do people in!!!

Yes we are way overpaid!! Forced to work 80 hours a week and escaping explosions on a daily basis. We should take a cut to compete with the Chinese who pay their workers .85 cents an hour. I would work for that.

Lol thats how unions are crippling our economy. If it weren't for Unions business' would compete for qualified employees (not good ole boy rednecks) and prices would remain low while employees were fairly compensated for their work. That is why companies without Unions make much more profit while still keeping their employees satisfied. Unions work for those in the unions.... but they kill the pockets of the consumer and anyone who wishes to work without contributing to such a corrupt entity

Silly, Silly, Silly. The only reason non-unions earn what they do is BECAUSE of unions! Who do you think non-union houses are competing against? So lets get rid of collective bargaining and watch the middle class disappear completely. But hey, would be good for bizniss! That is until the products begin to suffer, and sales drop to nothing. I mean why work a high or semi-high skilled job for the same price as a low or no skilled job. Good luck America. Want to fix the economy and lower the crime rate, increase collective bargaining, lower the drinking age back to 18 and legalize pot.

steel mills run for years with rumors of closure that are false, started just to upset people. by the RAWRS anyone in a real position to actually know a mill was closing would be educated enough to keep it to themselves. AK isnt closing.
