Yes, she is gone. Supervisors are to report to work at 6:30 in the morning and stop people before they clock in if they are being let go. Don't want them to get an extra minute or two of pay before they get the ax! That place is dirty and underhanded. We are short staffed already! Not enough nurses to care for patients...it's dangerous. Then nurses get the blame when stuff doesn't get done. Treated like shit from patient's and their family members, and we run our asses off trying to meet everyone's needs. They need to layoff all the pencil pushers and leave the floor staff alone!

Up to 400 people will be laid off. People will not have their hours shortened, or be kept on as part-time employees. They will be let go or they won't. No in between.

Is Fred Jackson "to blame"? Yes. He is the head of the hospital and thinks of it as a company. He takes the personal factor out of the decisions so that the hospital may remain profitable and able to run.

Strictly business, nothing personal.

That is why some people have negative feeling towards him, they've taken it personal. And that's understandable, how could you not take having a friend or yourself being laid off personally?

Shiat. Lay me off! My job sucks. The people I work with suck. The environment sucks. Everybody around me can't focus. Constantly gossiping about whether or not they're gonna have a job by the end of the week... What's hilarious to me is this... Didn't dumbass Fred start his little "Fred says" state of the union speeches in response to the chaos created by the last layoffs? And if ur an employee of KDMC I know you've been to them. We are ALL REQUIRED to go whatch the homo stand in frot of us and bullshit us with that big ugly smile on his face. Every speech he has said, we're not there yet but we're better than we were. Now boom, layoffs. Lmfao. Hello, right hand? Let me introduce you to my good friend left hand!! Y'all should get together sometime! Fucking morons running that place. Build build build, and no staff to run it. The staff u do have have been running around the past weeks with their heads up their asses worried about the future of their employment. Does Fred suffer for it? Nooooo... Do the nurses suffer? Nah, we'll find jobs at the better healthcare facilities eventually. So who is truly paying for Fred's little horse and pony show? I'll tell you who. PATIENTS! Do yourself a favor people, GO TO OLBH OR ST MARY'S with your healthcare needs! KDMC doesn't care about you. the organization is structured to make rich the top 50 executives at the expense of patient care. And that is the cold hard TRUTH. Stop supporting them with your hard earned dollars. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO A HOSPITAL THAT FUNCTIONS AS A HOSPITAL! Show that son of a bitch who's really in charge;)

What/who is Coventry Care and how does it effect KDMC?
Coventry Care is one of three Managed Care companies that now "manages" Medicaid in Kentucky. It means when the government concedes that it cannot properly manage a program, they turn it over to a "for profit" organization.

I am a little confused if you have to "cut back, lay off or fire people" so that you can make sure the hospital is profitable than why is it that you still have landscaping done???? I am sure plenty of the people losing their job would love to cut shrubs or grass instead of paying an outside agency MONEY to do it!!! I am also sure most patients are more concerned if they have a nurse who can attend to their needs than if they have pretty flowers or manicured landscape.....another thing I am puzzled by is the fact that Fred has more VP's than the President of the United States....which is a lot bigger than KDMC!!! I think as far as having to do what he has to do and it's strictly business...is a crock he answer to NO ONE and has total control!!!! He chooses to do what he wants at anyone's expense but theirs. If you have your employees best interest at heart you would not pay for landscape, buy up practices, buy up blocks of houses and build new buildings yet lay off the employees you "so much care about".... the blame ought to lie where it belongs.

I have a very good source that's higher up at KDMC. 500-650 jobs will be cut starting at 6am. They might be all at once or over a period of time.

Whats that line from the Godfather, oh yeah "'... it's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business ..." which when decoded means it's always personal.

I know it is possible, but not one person who has "heard" can confirm their source. I hope this has just been a case of rumors snowballing and that come 6am nothing happens. The hospital cannot handle another set back. We are running on fumes and as a result the patients are suffering.
Lord help KDMC and the staff and patients if this does happen, and good luck to Fred Jackson with the PR nightmare he will ignite.

Wish that were true honey, but it's not. I'm off tomorrow and my boss called me at home to come in at 7 in the morning for a "meeting"....

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Gemini

Beware wishful thinking because it will cloud your thoughts and lead to confusion. However, that's much easier said than done, because today you're showing distinct tendencies towards living in a rosy world of your own and ignoring any hard facts that are under your nose. Take care that you don't allow someone to dupe you simply because you aren't paying attention to what they're saying or doing.
