WSAZ said the two Huntington kids were released from being expelled and eligible in West Virginia, but the date when they enrolled in KY was prior to the expulsion release. I think since they were released in WV and can play there, KHSAA is being jerks. I believe they will win the legal battle. My nephew attends Huntington, he said the two kids were defending a little sister that was allegedly assaulted. That is why they got sympathy and released from the expulsion. If your daughter or sister was allegedly assaulted, would you punish someone for protecting them? Kentucky is spending tax dollars to pursue this stuff, that's crazy.
really?

Kids should not be taught that they take care of any problems they have with violence.

It's hard to know who to root for.......Fairview who recruits or Raceland, who also recruits. There isn't a shred of integrity in either school. Our kids shouldn't be taught to win by cheating. Recruiting IS CHEATING! If I had kids, I wouldn't let them attend either of those integrity, academically compromised schools!

I re-winded the News and stand by what was reported. I also know why they were expelled and released.

To RN, maybe WV released them because they were not playing in Huntington. Might have been different if they filed an injunction and tried to play in WV. Might have said "Good Riddance!"

A friend told me there was a post here on Fairview, I say let them all play. Play ball, Most Raceland people could give a Rat's a## about all that stuff! surely you guys don't believe we are all the posters on the other threads I just spent 20 minutes reading. I really think after reading all those threads it sounds like a bunch of un-happy fairview parents that don't have the balls to go talk to their coach or russell people starting crap like always. Yes, we always want to beat you guys, but others are always trying to bust your and our balls because of jealous reasons because we both shine for a small school! Good luck any night but this friday!
here is the deal

Have you EVER heard of a kid who lived his whole life in one community, grew up loving and playing youth league sports, going to the same high school as dad...needing a court order to let him play ball? No, only those who cause trouble need to get lawyers to let them play. Name me just one person who was denied the privilege to play who was NOT in trouble.

And I have NEVER heard of a kid (especially a really good athlete) given such a harsh sentence on his first offense. It is a privilege to play sports, Not a right.
O please

In response to your post, I would also like to let this forum know that everyone that lives in Westwood are not all win at all cost loonies. iI'm with you, let them play Friday night and let God and the KHSAA sort it out later. If Fairview wins and are found guilty later Raceland will get credit for the win by forfeit anyway, and deservedly so. What bothers me if they are guilty the kids who worked hard and through no fault of their own will suffer from this. Ask any kid who goes to Rose Hill.

What u need is a board member on the khsaa board of controls like Ashland has and then you don't have this problem, How u think all the rose hill kids got eligible when they transferred.

the boys had no right to beat the 8th grader up, there are legal ways set up by our civilized society to handle such matters, talk to any police officer about it. Acting like it was justified in some way is pathetic and only encourages more violence. Watch your words and get your facts straight as well and oh how does that koolaid taste?
