The residents of WW are already paying the state average in school taxes even without the 3% utility tax. Do the math.

Brandi Webster posted on the I Grew Up In Westwood facebook site a list of questions that the BOE should answer at their "set-up" meeting on Monday. She didn't mention that she is the most ardent supporter of the tax they have, and she has already spoke against those same questions on the Fairview Utility Tax Opinions page. Check it out! Everyone opposed to the tax should be careful of this meeting. You can't ask questions or get feedback from the board. They are having their tax supporters to submit in mass the questions they want to answer. Also, I read on the tax page where Brandi said she was having to pay utility tax to Ashland. Ater some questioning she admitted she was paying utility tax to Ashland because she wanted to. This lady loves paying taxes, and wants everyone else to pay to support her various children. What's the story on this woman?

The board is trying to spread a false rumor that everyone in Westwood is already paying the utility tax to Ashland or Boyd Co. I read where the PVA was contacted about this and has instructed how to have this changed in the rare occasion that it could happen. The supporters are still trying to tell this lie. Check your utility bills and you will see this is not true. It usually only will happen with cell phones because of where you buy them.If they say this to you, ask them to show the bill, and ask why they haven't contacted the utility to stop paying it.

I made a simple mistake when I said to Vote Yes for the children. Then this Vote No person called me an idiot. Now I see who the bad people are in this issue, so I will definitely VOTE YES TO STOP THE TAX.
VOTE YES TO STOP THE TAX!!!!!!

Here are some reasons people should vote "yes" to the recall. 1. The property tax rate of 68.9 is significantly above the state average of 56. With the $150 per month increase the board says will be added to utilities this means most people in WW are already paying what most citizens in other districts pay for school taxes. The 3% utility tax will put a much larger tax burden on the WW citizens compared to the state average. 2. The ever growing out of district population of students contributes NOTHING in local property taxes or fees to help with the cost of their education, the amount needed to offset what the state gives in loaded onto the WW taxpayer without thr BOE even trying to set up a fee directed at this population which is currently over 40% of the population. 3. The board has not maintained the building properly even though local property taxes have been some of the highest in the state for years as documented on the Kentucky state revenue Internet site. 4. Many repaires are currently already being done, 2.2 million including new windows, HVAC, foundation repairs, and many other things. Also, if the plumbing is so bad why wasn't the $265,000 from Armco used on this project instead of bleachers? 5. Westwood doesn't need anymore kids from Huntington. This gas got to stop. Nor should job offers to a certain AAU coach keep being repeatedly made in the area if $40,000. The attitude of football at all cost has got to stop as evidenced by the flagrant disrespectful behavior of the boys the other night at the Boyd County game. We don't need this cancer!! 6. Salaries of certain individuals are WAAAAY of of line. This needs to be changed!! 7. Money needs to be better managed overall and unnecessary items, expenses and trips need to be eliminated. 8. Land should not have been purchased with so many needs at the high school nor should the big red building have been built with so many needs at the high school. The whole theory of "first things first" was ignored and it appears the board did not follow its own facilities plan when the money came from AK steel.9. Will the board just do whatever the hack it feels or use the money wisely as it would be intended for? Who knows? 10. The only thing I get out of when you put those pictures up on Facebook are is how the BOE has totally mismanaged the schools finances and now you want more? HECK NO!!

Jeff Preston has seen these concerns before and he refuses to address them. He lacks the balls. Not a new story with him. He's afraid to come on here and debate with the public because he's not in control of the situation. He's a coward. He's a liar. He's immoral. He wants what Boyd Co. has and he's going to rape the neighborhoods pockets to get it. Vote this man out at the next election. Do it for the kids. I am shocked at what I've seen him write on Facebook. Surely this man doesn't think he can harass people and be a member of the school board and get away with it. It's disgraceful who's running our school. Can't someone have him reprimanded for harassing citizens about this tax issue? It just doesn't seem legally right to me.

Something I've noticed about this election is the fierce way the supporters attack over the thought if this being voted down heck you would think they were getting the money their selves! Oh heck maybe they are !!!!!

If people want to give money to the school then take out their check books and write a check....leave everyone else alone. Personally I don't want my money to support out of area, out of state and out of district kidos. That should be the responsibility of those parents or Mr . Music or Mr. McPeek!

Here is what I don't get, why in the hell are they not hitting up the out of district parents for money? If these people have gas money to get the kids here everyday in cars nicer than a lot of the WW tax payers than it appears they have money for this, that is if they want the school to stay open and repairs to be made. They act like this can't be done. I read a post somebody on here somebody put about Pikeville Ind. and asked my sister who lives there and yep if out of district kids get picked for one of the out of district spots Pikeville Ind has they have to pay an extra fee to go there. The ADA money goes to Pikeville Ind but the parents still have to come up with a little over $800 for the students to attend. If Fairview did this there would be no need for a 3% utility tax, especially because Faieview has exceptionally high
Property taxes, and the added expense the out of district kids in occur would be on them not the loxal WW tax payers.

I've haven't had to much to say about this election, but after going to my mailbox today and seeing the VOTE NO mail I received it makes me furious. The BOE sit up there wanting the people of Westwood to pay out of their pockets for their misusing of the school funds. Misusing funds? Where did they get the money to send out all of these VOTE NO pamphlets? How much were stamps? How much did they pay for the robo caller? And I received another pamphlet the other day concerning the VOTE NO issue. They could have taken the money it took for all of the above actions and done something productive to the school. Am I right? It's a shame that you can not get on Facebook, go to Church, go to the Dollar General Store without this issue being brought up. If the school board would have been kind enough to let the good people of Westwood vote for themselves on this matter, they may have had a different outcome. The people I've talked to say they thought it was a slap in the face from the BOE for them to go ahead and get the tax without a vote. I've heard so much garbage about, "well if you don't vote for the tax, then you don't B.I.T.W!! I'm really thinking now that b.i.t.w.stands for Bullies in the Wood. The people who are causing the most racket about the whole issue are the ones employed by the school and boy are they being evil. Intimidating people, accusing people of lying, and trying to convince the people of the Wood that there will be no Fairview if you don't vote NO. Mr. Musick and the rest of the BOE, there will be a Fairview if you all would just leave the funds alone. Every dollar the school gets goes to the football program, don't get me wrong, we have a great football program, but there are more important things other than sports. And, Jeff Preston is posting pictures of the schools boiler problems, the schools window problems and many other problems that have been there for years and years. First, didn't Fairview get a grant to fix the boiler, heating and air and window problems? And why are you worried now about the school falling apart? It's been that way since I can remember. Is the real reason you people want the tax is for turf for the football field? Oh, and if Mr. Musick is so worried about the schools future, why doesn't he and the rest of the BOE take a pay cut? Over 100,000 dollars a year is a high price for s Superintendent at a small school don't you think? I've have never seen more so called Christians going around attacking others reputation. Churches really isn't a good place to be discussing this tax issue, but it is, and while sitting in the house of God, people are talking about others behind their backs, name calling and just right out being mean. You may want to stop talking about the tax issue and start praying a little more. I for one will be voting Yes come the 19th. It's not because I can't afford to pay the 3%, it's because of the way the board started this whole issue, and the way they are intimidating others and pushing people into voting No. So to the BOE, if this tax doesn't pass, you can blame yourselves, especially Mr. Jeff Preston and his son Tyler for just being the people they are.
