Grow up Westwood, as the one poster said its our turn to pay forward. What a bunch of Cheap Asses. Yes I did say that. You can try to justify not paying until this time next year in your minds. people go back and read your post, most of you sound so awful, I am retired on a fixed income but Lord knows Billy and everyone has the Kids in mind, you all come up with all kinds of crazy non-sense to try to get out of paying " ITS YOUR TURN". I hope So much that this gets passed just so you all can see its not going to hurt anyones way of life.
. The amount of money reflected in financial reports on KDE shows Fairview brought in over$830,000 more in money than the year before( from 2010 to 2011)! Over $350,000 was in local property taxes. The money is there already that they say is needed.

Does KDE show what the overhead for the school year is? I seen someone put superintendents salary, but what about the teachers payroll, utility, insurance, school bus gas/maintenance, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, etc... I'm sure that stuff adds up. That would be and helpful figure to see what that actually clear.

Gripe about football all you want. If the kids at Fairview arent good enough then pull up your big boy undies and work on your skills and weight lift. This topic of taxes has nothing to do with the Football program at Fairview. You pussies are a bunch of liberal whiners that try to demonize a good thing for the kids at Fairview. Should be thankful for the out of district kids or most of the sports programs would have already ended. The new equipment and bleachers and scoreboard was not purcahsed by school money you bunch of ignorant inbreds but by private donations given specifically for the upgrade of the football field, it had nothing to do with the schools money. You pond scum sucking bottom dwellers need to get a life because one way or another you are going to have your taxes raised.

Lets do an experiment and compare local test scores compared to OFD state test scores then we will have a true balancing point to argue about. If the kids in the district can carry the weight by theirselves then you have an arguement , if not then you the only vote is to say yes to the utility tax or send your kids to BC or Ashland
Lets do another experiment. Figure out what you are talking about and learn how to spell if you are going to try to sound proficient or eloquent. Test scores have nothing to do with carrying OFD students while the school board tries to act like the school is broke! Look at the salaries and money spent on things that aren't necessary instead of being spent on the school for upgrades that are needed.

Fairview needs a new school....period...You can make all the upgrades you want to but the structure, limited size classrooms,is falling apart and falling down. You can put ear rings on a pig and it will still oink! Upgrades is just a band aid masking a larger issue. Get a life Abc!

Exactly. Originally the school board said the levy was to build a new school. This was a lie because they knew their wasn't enough property to build a new school. After people figured this out then the reason was changed. They have to have 15 acres of land to build. 10 acres minimum and 1 more for every 100 students. That equals 15 acres. This, and other lies, is a lot of the reason so many people are against the tax, lies and more lies.

For years they have been saying the high school needed repair and I agree it does but why leave it in disrepair look at all the stuff the school has bought and built in the last several years but still never did anything to the high school WHY is that

. They don't even have a new school on their facilities plan. The Plan states a little over 12 million in renovations/ updates to the high school and nine additional classrooms. Also $830,000 was added to Fairviews revenue stream in 2011..... That is a lot for a little school system. The revenue stream Is already there for the renovations on the facilities plan especially with the 2.2 million jump start. Go to the KDE website and check out this information.

I had read somewhere before that if the tax levy goes thru they will change the facilities plan. Idk if that's true or not.

That's my point exactly! That's been their whole scheme for several years. Damsel in distress plea and some people have clearly fallen for it.

That would be an extremely stupid move on the boards part. Go to the papers, news stations, and then take it to court if they had no plans for a new school. How could they get out of it after all of the publicity?

They raised the tax rate agaon. It is now 68.9. I guess the additional $350,000 more they took in on local property taxes in 2011 wasn't enough. Geez guys
