He's 19 and yes I do still consider him a kid. This isn't about the tax, it's about a one man's misleading statements to my son. When he found out just what he had signed he was upset, which makes me upset. He would not have knowingly signed it if it was made clear what it was. Last I heard christians don't lie to anybody of any age. I'm not a christian, I'm not immature, and I'm not wrong to be a quite upset with the man.
If your son is 19 and can't comprehend what he signs, I strongly suggest you sent him back to a real school and you be a better parent and teach your adult son better! My parents taught me at a much younger age than 19 to never sign anything if I didn't understand what I was signing! Just shows the mentality of some of you! Very sad.

If the state pays approx. 4000.00 dollars a year per child that attend fairview, and the total cost of educating the same child is approx 9000.00. Who pays for the difference. I know my property tax money goes tot he school to help pay the difference but who pays the difference for the out of district child???? The tax payers of Westwood do. And now the board wants the people of Westwood to pay more in the form of a utility tax. How is this fair to the people of
Westwood. The school will tell you that they pay for all equipment needed for a kid to play football, they pay for the trips the kids take, they will pay for an instrument for a kid to play in band. This is wonderful if you can afford it. Again they pay for all the extras for out of district kids to who are already having half our their education paid for by the people of Westwood. Maybe that is why we didn't have money to keep up improvements on our schools. And I still would like to know why my son doesn't have a textbook for every class after I paid a book fee.

Agreed, he probably should have read it. He did ask what it was about, and he was told it was a petition FOR the utility tax. He said he agreed, we needed a new school, and Coburn agreed before he signed it with no contradiction to my son's statement. His only fault in this matter is he simply trusted a man who has no moral character. If you defend the actions of these individuals, you have a lot of nerve questiong my son's intelligence and my parenting skills. Just shows your mentality.

He was lied to, did you not read the post? Sorry he's not a rocket scientist like you, although he did get a scholarship to college. This was not given to him, he earned by hard work, but I thought the school did a pretty good job, huh? No get to bed, you have to be at work at Wal-Mart in the morning.

Please be advised that the 4:30pm meeting today is to get a head count of people that are for the tax levy. They are looking for 10-15 people to support this as to continue with a special election. Please do not go if you are against this levy at 4:30. If you are for it then by all means go at this time. The board meeting to vote as to rescind the levy or have the special election will be at 5:30pm today, just after first informational meeting. Thanx

It is fraud if a student lives out of state and a school receives Kentucky ADA(average daily attendance) for that student. The student must live in state for the school to receive Kentucky tax payer Ada money for that student. Giving false addresses to get around this is also fraud. Just call the KDE and ask like I did. Fairview should require out of district students to produce a months worth of utility bills when registering to ensure no fraud is going on.

I herd a man at Clarks complaining about he could not afford the $18.00-$20.00 dollars a month if the Tax Passes. He was buying two packs of Smokes that came to $9.50. What a joke our kids deserve better than this from us. This School has been number one (1) for four (4) years on the Graduation rate, Number one in the whole U.S. Come people wake-up support these great teachers and give our kids a good place to study.

We do support the school already by our very high property taxes on our homes and vehicles. It will be more than $18-$20. Everyone is against the school trying to force us, uncontrolled spending, and will not guarantee what the money will be spent on. Not an argument just a statement.

You and a lot of people should have been at the school tonight ( 4:30pm), I was and seen where the money would go, you and a lot of other people really don't have your facts right, the fact is I would pay $18.75 more a month, I did the math. I the Highest Bills over the last year and came up with the number. If I did an average it wouldn't even be that much. The big money would be the taxes that the big Companies would be sending the School, i.e Walmart, AK Steel and every other big Money Maker in our area, we are missing out the other schools take gets this same tax in their area, And look at the Schools compared to ours. People are listening to all kinds of un-true facts, Its really sad that you people did not come to the meeting tonight to find out first hand the real truth of the matter.

What "untrue facts" are you talking about? They certainly have an interesting way of looking at the truth up on Main St.

I was there and the school board has told lie after lie. They keep changing the reason for the tax depending upon the question. Board meeting was at 5:30. 4:30 meeting was a hoax. Almost everyone there was led to believe it was the board meeting which in turn it was a head count to justify to media that a bunch of ppl were wanting the tax. They didn't find out till after there what it actually was. The board originally said after petition committee collected signatures they were going to rescind the levy which was another lie because they didn't. Made mr musik look like an idiot by making that statement to newspaper. I doubt it will pass but u will find out the truth as to how much each person will have to pay. So it's screw the poor and elderly on a fixed income that was crying as they signed the petition knowing if it passed they could not afford the extra money. I mean who are they? Their nobody to Westwood other than the ones who have got us where we are today. Who cares if they can't buy their medicine or food! Think about everyone here not just a few greedy board members and how much they make and can afford!
