I just had an unhappy experience with AARF. Recently, Amy/Krista sent one of their dogs to our rescue here in Wisconsin and I have it in writing that they promised to officially relinquish the dog to us (we have an excellent reputation here in Wisconsin) so that we could adopt the dog out to a lady for whom we had done reference checks and a home visit. But, after the dog arrived, AARF decided to deal directly with the adopter, having the lady sign a contract with AARF. This essentially left our rescue out on a limb, without the option of collecting an adoption fee or following up on the welfare of the dog after adoption.
During this time, AARF has not acted in a professional manner, and they have gone back on their word numerous times during out dealings with them. I would never work with them again.

Well apparently they had a very good reason to do this and for you to get on here and make this statement just confirms there is something wrong with how you operate. Wether you had a bad experience or not this is all the the dogs and finding them a forever home.

My apologies... After reading all previous posts, I mistook this chat list for an objective, fair-minded group of people. But apparently all the folks who have ever posted anything negative about AARF have gone away, and all that's left is an AARF cheering section who blindly supports their actions without first hearing the truth.

So, I'll go elsewhere--where I can find some open-minded folks--to spread the word about AARF.
Bye now.

I'm very sorry that this has happened to you. AARF does a good service locally and they usually do the right thing concerning the animals. They were recently caught up in a wrongdoing and I think it has affected their judgement. Most of us are here for the animals and for doing what's right. Again I am very sorry that happened.

Thanks to "Just a Thought" for your note. It surprises me that "Whatever" immediately assumed that our rescue had done something "wrong"--and whatever AARF had done was obviously justified.
I won't go into the details of this debacle, but suffice it to say that our rescue here in Wisconsin has an excellent reputation, and--before anyone "takes sides"--they should hear both sides of the story.
I think one of the biggest problems in "rescue" is that so many people are closed-minded, and their egos and agendas outweigh their desire to help the dogs. It's very sad because--when a personal disagreement occurs--it's usually the animals who get the short end of the stick.

You are exactly correct! Most lose sight of the goal and it ends up being about them when the focus should stay on the animals. Thank you very much for what you do!

The only reason I said that is if you go back and read everything that was being said you will understand why I said that. What is the title of this forum. When you got on here just to say something bad about AARF well you can just imagine why I thought that. If something bad happened with a adoption then it should have been handled a different way instead of getting on this forum. We are all here to save as many animals as we can. I'm sorry if im wrong about if you did something wrong. Everyone in rescue has the same goal but as you know in every situation there are some people that can make bad things happen. I love AARF and what they do as a whole. I've seen them rescue so many digs that would have been put to sleep. I'm sorry if I jump to any conclusion concerning your rescue but I was just trying to protect mine.

The group of people AARF rarlly does adoptions to locals. I guess people in the area are not good enough for them. They are always saying they are sending dogs to homes but never show pictures of those dogs in there homes. they beg for mony, food and supplies here. I guess people in the area are only good for donations but nothing else. Do the dogs move out sit in boarding for weeks months or years? Why no word? Where do they send dogs? Is there a shortage of dogs somewhere? Is that why they move them? Is there no dogs in Wisconsin? I am confused. What did you mean by following up on the welfare of the dog. Is AARF going there to follow up on the welfare of the dog sent to that lady. This is not just for MMB but anyone who wants to answer cheering squad or anyone else. I wanted a AARF dog before but I wasn't good enough so I was told no. Its good they help dogs but how do we know they are not send to place where they will get hurt? Where do they go? I Don't want to casue trouble.

Indeed, there IS a shortage of certain types of dogs in some geographical locations. But, in our specific case, AARF had asked our Wisconsin rescue group to help place a dog that they had had in their foster program for a long time. It was a special needs dog and it seemed no one in that area was interested in adopting a dog like this, but our rescue here in Wisconsin had lined up a wonderful adopter who had a soft spot in her heart for special needs dogs.

At any rate....."Whatever" asked me to confirm the name of this forum, as if the purpose of this group was exclusively to cheer AARF on and compliment them. But....my impression of a "forum" is that it provides a place for people to come together, to share different opinions and different points of view. Perhaps I was mistaken.

I love how people get on here throwing my name around to try and bash me but yet don't use their own names? Oh right this is topix.
The dog was returned because enough hell was raised to BOTH rescues to get JACK HOME. He returned home with ear infections, the vet stated it had been like that for a while!
It is funny I have been around AARF members and not one of them have said a damn word to my face about what I did. Except one and I got that on video the day we picked Jack up, just find me on facebook to see the video. I have NOTHING to hide, she called me a twit and told me to get the F'n camera out of her face. There were kids there and the founder of AARF had NO business acting the way she did. So whoever thinks they are woman enough to shut me up, try me! Cause we both know you don't have the balls to post your name.

I personally think AARF needs to stick to their main goal-ASHLAND Animal Rescue Fund. The dogs at the BOYD County Shelter in ASHLAND is full. But yet where is AARF? Pulling dogs from Cabell-Wayne, Ironton and everywhere else while our local dogs are close to being put to death?

Actually I will save you all the trouble in finding the video:

I watched your video and it seems to me you were trying to provoke her. If you really just wanted to film the reunion you would have filmed it longer after that woman dog. I really don't blame her for calling you that and she didn't say it loud enough for anyone else to hear. I've gone back through all of this and it seemed to me that you are the one who has started alot of the trouble. All dogs are important not just the boyd county shelter. From what I've seen from aarf they have saved so many dogs from that shelter. Instead of being a negative person you really need to just try helping instead of running your mouth.

Good day to you and remember that all goods deeds will come back to you tens time better than what you have put out.
All bad deeds will come back the same way but worse.

The name if this forum is Ashland Animal Rescue Fund takes dogs. That is in no way cheering aarf on. Stupid people started this forum in a way to harm the group. Believe me people in this area throw their dogs away all the time do why take them. AARF received calls all the time can you take my dog we are moving or we don't have time for them and do on. There is always a excuse. This area is full of so many uncaring people hence the reason the shelter is always full. So if you have a different problem then start a new forum so you can maybe get other peoples opinion instead of these haters.

I see still not using REAL names and no balls to say any of this trash to my face. We were actually worried she didn't even bring the dog but I wouldn't expect you to understand that, she was also a few minutes late. From what I have seen of AARF bla bla bla. Kiss my ass. You have no idea the hell they put the family through to get the dog back. Same with LOUIE'S LEGACY wanting to charge 1,500 to get him back to KY. Get your facts straight before you start telling me that I need to help out and do good.

Truthfully if people wouldn't have started bashing people and calling people names this would have never gotten so out of hand. You all made the situation worse by harassing people on Facebook. Things happen. With you getting on here and using bad language is just telling me your not a very nice person. You can get things taken care of by being nice and not being mean. From what you did on the video was awful and not very nice. If you really wanted to video the reunion you would have filmed more of the dog and his family. You just wanted to provoke her. All the bashing everyone did against AARF was so wrong. It just made people who love what AARF does get on the defense. I just hope that family can keep him in the yard and he doesn't get out again. Maybe all of this happen for them to be more aware of what could happen. Everything happens for a reason. I do have my facts straight. I didn't say anything about them it was you that I said caused a lot of the trouble. Maybe if you and some of the other people backed off from bashing both groups maybe they wouldn't have been so defensive. Who knows its over with now. I just hope lessons were learned on every side for this can never happen again.

Hey idiot!! Why don't you just shut up your stupid mouth and quit trying to get sh&t started? You talk really BIG, but we both know you are only capable of bullying pets around and videoing helpless others. You should be ashamed of yourself. No wonder nobody has any respect for you. So, stay off of this sight if you want all of this to go away. We all know what you did was wrong and you need to talk to your pastor about it, you skank!
