I dont know why on earth they call it Urgent care, because nothing they do is urgent..They have only one doctor there any given time. We got there when they opened at 4 pm and by the time we were seen and in the parking lot to leave,it was 8 pm..We could have been seen and set home by the E R in that amount of time..

i went there the other day and was seen in and out in 3 hours. I went right at four and it was packed but they took me back quick cause i had a more serious illness then other people that were there for the Flu. It looked like a TB hospital in there haha. one other good note, the security gaurd they have working there isnt all that bad looking....LOL

Who cares whether the sec guard is hot or not! And these days in the ER you would be absolutely lucky to be seen and discharges In 4 hrs. But seriously if it's not urgent or an emergency maybe you should go to a FCC or family doctor! That's why it takes so long in those places-b/c people who don't need to be there over crowd those places!

Nothing beats seeing people in the ER for dental pain. Too bad there are no dentist in this area.

The same Doctors that work the ER work over there.

4 hours to get in and out, or 4 hours to sit in the ER lobby.

I took my daughter in one night around 10pm because she spiked a fever of 103.8. The security guard asked me her symptoms and went back to talked to a nurse or someone and came back out and told me to go to the ER because they would probably give her fluids and they didn't give fluids there. Took her to the ER and guess what they gave her no fluids. I was highly disappointed that a security guard was checking people in. He has no medical background so he shouldn't be there. Secondly I was disappointed that they sent me to the ER without even seeing my child. They don't know if she needs fluids or not if they don't bother to look at her.

People go to Urgent Care because the family clinics are going to by appointment only. Since they are booked people can't get in quickly. At urgent care you can walk in and although you'll sit FOREVER you will eventually be seen by a physician. Which is why people have to go there.

Excuse me. Do you work there not ture? I DO! it is not mainly people that have no insurance that come to the Urgent Care Center. People come for a variety of reasons. And yes, the avg time u are there is about 4 hours, but you can and will wait much longer in the main ER. But this is why we launched the URgent Care Center... to cut down on some of the ER workload.

then maybe everyone should go to their family doctor and then kdmc can shut down the urgent care center! From the sound of your post a patient seeking medical attention is nothing more than a burden to you!

Thats not what Im saying at alll!!!!!!! Come work in the ER for just one night and you will see what I am talking about!!!!!! I love my job and I love helping ppl. The reason we had to expand is due to the number of ppl we see every night!!! Some are the same ppl day after day after day!!! this happens all the time. pll will wait till the doc offices close then come to the ER which is just not right to the ppl that really need the help!!!!!

Do yourself a favor and go to Bellfonte's ER, in my experience they are much faster and actually wanna help. I absolutely hate KDMC's ER. Last year I went to KDMC's ER with severe lower back pain, the worst pain in my life. I couldn't stand up straight and couldn't walk without taking baby steps, hell it even hurt to breath. It took forever and a day to finally get back there and the doctor treated me like sh*t. They gave me some shots which did absolutely nothing to ease my pain and when I told the Dr. it wasn't helping, he was a smart ass. He said, "what do you want me to do", in a real wise guy tone. F-KDMC, I'll not go back to that POS. Bellfonte actually helped and sent me to a specialist. Turned out that I had Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction. I got some SI injections and could get back to living life.

Sure. Go to OLBH if you want Drs. and RN's that have no clue what they are doing. There's a reason that you don't have to wait at bellefonte. It's becuse no one wants to go there! I work in the urgent care at KDMC, I have worked in the ED here as well. I did my clinicals in the ED at OLBH. I know what I am talking about. Bellefonete sucks!!!

OK REALLY AND NOT TURE NEED TO STOP TALKING. ESPECIALLY IF YOU WORK FOR KDMC YOU LOOK IGNORANT. YOU TWO ARE FIGHTING OVER THE PROSPECTS OF PEOPLE PAYING THEIR BILLS. DID IT EVER OCCUR TO YOU THAT THEY DONT PAY THEIR BILLS AT THE FAMILY DOCTOR EITHER? I STILL THINK IF YOU DO WORK FOR KDMC YOU NEED NOT POST, IT MAKES THEM LOOK EVEN MORE FOOLISH.

Can anyone tell me about a surgeon that works at KDMC? His name is Dr. Dunlop. I will be seeing him next week and hopefully schedule surgery with him for a hernia that is very large. I am so worried because I dont know anything about him. Im from Portsmouth and I didnt trust the Drs here so I made an appt. with his office. I have heard some good things about KDMC. I know the nurses are way sweeter to you there. The Portsmouth hospital has rude employees and C doctors. Please if you can give me any information about him or another Dr. that can help me, I would appreciate it. Was suppose to go to the Cleveland Clinic but couldnt afford to run back and forth there. Thank you.

I went to the Urgent Care a few weeks back, because my mouth was on fire, due to being over subsrcibed Biaxin. I went around 11 at night and the staff was very friendly and the doctor was too. I was out in about 15 minutes. I would not be putting these workers down from any ER or Urgent Care from what I have seen the patients put them through. Great Job Urgent Care!

I have been to KDMC's Urgent Care in Ashland 2 times in the past 2 weeks. Both times I got there a few minutes before 4PM, and was out in an hour. My family dr. was so booked with all the crud going around, I wasn't going to be able to go there for a couple of days. They were very nice and helpful. I did find it weird that the security guard checked me out, but at least he wasn't practicing medicine on me.
