Frederick was my doctor way before I had even got pregnant. He is very friendly but also very professional. When I was pregnant, his PAC Libby Maddox is who would examine me. Fredrick would do the ultrasounds and he performed the delivery. But I really liked both of them as my doctor. I would definitely recommend them!

When I first went to Dr. Frederick I was very happy with him. I was trying to conceive and he sent me to a specialist in Lexington. I became pregnant, and went back to Dr. Frederick for my prenatal care. Not long after I started seeing him, he hired Libby. I was not impressed with her at all. As my pregnancy went along I became pre-eclamptic. Libby was outside of my door speaking with Dr. Frederick and my husband and I could overhear what she was saying. She was telling him about a pt that the previous week had very high levels of protein in her urine, and her blood pressure was sky high and that she had to have her blood pressure rechecked before she left, and that now this week her protein was even higher and so was her blood pressure. Dr. Frederick told her to go ahead and go in the room he would be in in a minute to admit her. My husband and I was like, wow, that poor lady. Turns out she was talking about me. She had never mentioned anything to me about my protein the previous week or my blood pressure and she sure as heck didn't recheck it. So I was admitted, and had to have Mag sulfate in my iv for my pre-eclampsia. I laid in labor for 33 hours, out of which my water had been broke for 16 of those hrs. He finally decided to do a c-section. I got out of the hospital only to find a hard lump and red streak going up my abdomen. I called his office and they said that was normal, sometimes the internal stitches did that. So, then after I had ran a fever of 103 for 2 days waiting for his office to get me an appt., they call me that Friday and say go to the ER because we closed at noon today. I was in the hospital for 7 days. He had to re-open my incision drain out the infection, and my wound had to be packed for 3 mos after that. After that experience, I just could not bring myself to go back to him. It wasn't so much him as it was the combo of Libby and his office staff.

Last appt. I had with him I had to wait forever! I must had been waiting for at least 3 hours! Only to see him for a second and deal with Libby. I had a procedure done in the office by him only to have to go back a week later and have the procedure done again! And I got charged twice because they couldn't do it right the first time! I am going to huntington to find a better Dr. Ashland does not have any good OB/GYN's. I have heard good things about Dr. James but too afraid to try another Dr. from Ashland. I have also heard that the amount of lawsuites against him and his partner Dr. Ford is insaine!

I have to agree about the wait times! For my last three appointments, I waited around 2 hours for EACH appointment. Why do I keep going? I like Dr. Frederick and Libbia both. As many of you women know, it's hard to find a good ob/gyn you feel comfortable with. I do HATE the waiting, but that is the only bad thing I can say about it. I don't have children, so I can't tell comment on the ob/prenatal care and all that.

i went to dr fredrick with my first child and was very pleased with him..ended up moving out of town so he didnt deliver my son but i recently got pregnant again and ive went back to him..the wait time is pretty long most of time but im very happy with dr fredrick and libby..they're both very nice..very professional...i would defiantly recommend them...the staff is good and they do take the time to answer your questions when your there..i love doin my ultrasounds because they take their time and dont just skim over your belly...my baby is due in 5 weeks and i couldnt image to goin to a diffrent dr..

The ob/gyns are good, but don't bother with a PAC or an NP unless they are a certified nurse midwife. If you are pregnant, a WHNP can see you in the office, but will not be able to deliver your baby. I agree the maternity care is seriously lacking in this town. We used to have several midwives and options available to expectant mothers, but care in the past few years has been very poor indeed. Good luck to all the women expecting. I would seek out a midwife if it were me.

I had twins last December and dr. Frederick was my doctor. Granted my pre natal care was a combination of seeing him and the perinatologists in Lexington. I do agree with the wait time it is ridiculous. My twins were delivered at 39 weeks 3 days. 7.11 lbs and 7.2 lbs, very healthy. Thanks to the care of Dr Frederick

Dr. James is absolutely excellent. I've had many friends, as well as myself go to him. Not one complaint! Everyone I know keeps going to him! I highly suggest dr.James. He really cares about his patients! He will do anything to help you, and will closely monitor your pregnancy! Go see him and give him a try before you knock him out. I promise you won't be disappointed.
