I need some opinions on this doctor. How has he acted while you or a loved one was his patient? What kind of stories do you have? I am one of his patients, very quiet girl, until I get mad. Usually very respectful and only speak when spoken to. At least that's how it is with strangers or new people. He's been nothing but rude, uninformative, and he never listens when I try to tell him something. I told him the medications that worked best for me based on personal experience, and he asked me if I had a medical degree, I told him no. Then he went off on me telling me that I would take what prescriptions he gave me, that it wasn't my choice to decide what medication was best. He gave me a medication that my family care center says I need blood work done no less that once a month, and Khan didn't even inform me about that. Has anyone else had similar dealings with this man? I just wanted to make sure I wasn't one of the only ones dealing with this man.

I thought he was rude. He didn't ask me anything he just wrote a prescription and he pushed me out the door. I was even told before I went in to see him to not talk and just let him do the talking! What kind of mental health professional does that? I was seriously in there for 1 or 2 minutes, Not exaggerating. I would never recommend this man to anyone but if Pathways is your only option I guess you are kinda stuck with him.

He was covering for my psychiatrist a few years ago. He had me in tears. He started telling me my problems were all my parents fault & wouldn't let me tell him what was really bothering me. It was like he didn't listen & tuned me out. Very rude!

i got referred to him for my son and so far he has done him nothing but good when i talked to people and my family my family told me they had had him and he was just like you all said rude and everything but when it comes to children he is nice as can be and helpful so i believe he just don't like adults or something or maybe he should just go to pediatrics since apparently that is what makes him happy lol. but honestly he is a Dr and he should treat everyone right and i hate doctors that just sit there and write shit down i mean come on try listening to your damn patients every once in a while you know.

It is not you. It is very sad, but you will find that there are not any good selections in that area around here. It is sad, but the truth. It is hard to find a doctor that will simply "listen" to you at all anymore. It is all about dollar signs. I am on the other side and I see it. I hate it. That is not what healthcare is about but it has drastically changed over the last few years. Very sad :(

Trust me, everyone I know who has ever dealt with him feels this way. He is not a good Dr. for these reasons. I mean its bad when your therapist tells you not to try and talk to him before you even meet the guy....even his coworkers admit he is this way. That is weird. It blows my mind how he is even still operating down there. I never went back to see him again after the first time is how bad he was.

That makes me sick! People like that need their license taken away from them! You cannot possibly be treating people correctly if they cannot speak to you! There is noway! You cannot go on the word of a therapist because they are not doctors. I wonder what the Medical Board of Psychiatry would think about that?

You have some very good points and you are correct on everything you are saying but I would like to point one thing out and this is only from personal experience and knowing many on a personal level. Keep in mind, it DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT, but when someone is dying, many doctors are short because it does break their heart and they dont want to show that. The easiest way is to spit it out and walk away so they dont break! I have seen many walk out of rooms and the tears come when they get out of the rooms. No, this does not help the families at all and I have been on the other end with my own family and you feel like they are heartless! That is how they act. I think they feel that if they lose thier composure, they will not be able to continue to take care of their other patients. I have seen it several times. Again, this does NOT make it right, but always remember that. I just about bet you that 90% of the time if a doctor comes in and tells you that someone is dying and you chase him/her out the door, you will see tears! They are not as heartless as they act! I know, it seems hard to believe, but I have known too many and know too many today. People would give them so much more respect if they would show a tear once in a while. They fail to see that.:(

ok well i was just saying things from my point the dr.s i have come in contact with were absolute assholes when telling this information. I m not sayin everyone of them are the same but some of them only do it for the money and can be heartless so no not all of them r like this but there are a few bad apples so your telling me u disagree with every single doctor being compassionate because i am sorry there are a few tht are not

Whatever you think. You are on a totally different page. This is about Dr. Khan and if you go back and read, you are the one that went off on your little tangent over all doctors. So, you need to follow your own little words. I never disagreed with anything you said if you could read and comprehend. I was pointing something out. I made what I said VERY CLEAR. As I said, we are not on the same page and there is no point in wasting my time. Have a wonderful day!

Yes, when people do not read and pay attention and just smart off, it gets old. This is just someone who wants to read what they want and say what they want. They obviously cannot comprehend that I was not disagreeing with anything that they were saying. I made that very clear. I was only trying to help them see from a different angle but I made it clear that the behaviors still did not make it ok for the families. No need for them to smart off. People just look for reasons to argue. That is why I said, it isnt worth my time. Apparently, you dont get it either. Why does that not shock me? Some people simply do not know how to communicate. That isnt my problem. It is a personal problem. I put things pretty clear and simple. I believe that we are adults and know how to read. Or at least I thought we did. I never once used a big word that could not be understood did I?

for everyone's info i was not smarting off i did read what you said very clearly and i was not being mean or rude in anyway i was just saying ok i guess you was right but i had come into contact with some drs that were that way but some of them are different but your right this isn't worth wasting time over bc no matter what people say on here it is writing not speaking therefore everyone takes what you write way differently than they would take it if they would hear the way u would actually speak it so my message wasn't at all meant to be mean or anything in anyway and that i guess is how you took it so you decided to go off and try to belittle me which was rude and not appreciated thank you very much have a great day all!

bottom line is dr khan is a con and pathways as a whole is one big joke and rip off that should be shut down, they are running a monoply on counseling and psychiatric services in the area, if it wasnt for the courts forcing people on probation and parole and the courts forcing people to go there after they was arrested for crap they would have went out of business a long time ago, they are nothing but a state funded more less state run scam to get money, they can care less about people, most people are only there so they dont go to jail,

He saw my then 7 yr old child. We do not like him. He ignored her problems, ignored my concerns. Being a child, she was amused by something on his desk. She did not touch anything, but pointed to it asking him what it was. He slapped her hand and told her not to touch anything in his office. Needless to say, I was very angry over this and my child was in tears. We left and did not return to him for treatment. Dr. Khan is a quack.

Pathways is not federally or state funded. And they see many, many more people than court referred people. Pathways does a lot of good. Just like any large company, there are employees who may not do a great job. But there are many others who care greatly about their clients. Most workers in that field do not make much money. They do it because they want to help people.
