Having to deal with headaches, balance problems (occassionally) and even speech sometimes and not sure if related but memory problems. It seemed convenient that they lost my records. I wonder if many people have had records disappear to hide their mistakes?
It seems this affected many things, even energy is down, again not sure if related. My ears constantly ring, not high blood pressure. I am certain if they had not lost my records I could have sued for the damage and quality of life, suffering. Prior MRI's had never shown this till that day. Is 8-9 mm bad? thank you alot
I had all of those problems until I had Chiari decompression surgery. Usually, you are born with Chiari Malformation. The symptoms typically start in your late 20's or early 30's when the sutures in your skull start to harden as you get older, and your brain does not have as much room. People with Chiari do not have enough space in the back of their skull for their cerebellum. This causes it to herniate into the cervical spine which puts pressure on you brain stem. That is what causes all the symptoms you mentioned. A 8-9 mm herniation is pretty bad. They do the decompression surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. I highly advise you to check into having the decompression surgery. It will change your life. 99% of my symptoms have completely resolved since I had my surgery a few years ago.

<quoted text>I am happy for anyone who gets relief with the injections. My experience was in the pain clinic they had at the hospital in about 1998. Dr Pierra and I am not sure of spelling. As the RN Sherry told me,"he hit something he wasn't supposed to" I nearly died after the ganglion block, like a stroke. How convenient my records disappeared. I do have prior MRI reports that didn't show the brain herniation he, in my opinion, no doubt is responsible for.
I am hating that for you!! I think the Cleveland Clinic is a good suggestion. Why don't you try that? I have 4 brain aneurysms and I go to UK for that. No way in this world would I allow one of these doctors around here near me with something as serious as that! Most definitely go somewhere where they are more qualified to deal with something like that. I hope and pray you find relief! As far as the records go, have you tried to get them lately? Maybe they have them now since everything is on computers. I'd look there again. That was definitely a lawsuit!!

It was in 1998 so I doubt any records. I do need to get something done, coordination, speech, memory problems not getting better.Headaches that are just killer. Thank you

Sounds to me like you people are just a bunch of pill heads doing anything the Doctor says so he/she will still keep writing you all pills. I see it all the time; People who pad their file to get pills. I hope the Doctor doesn't tell you all to nibble on a turd...

Kellie....kellie.... It's ok my dear. We all know the reason you are so upset about this is because you were not intelligent or creative enough to think up medical conditions to pad your own file with. It's ok, maybe someone will share their pills with you.

By the way, not everyone is a pill head. Some people have real conditions like Chiari Malformation which can destroy the quality of their lives. How would you line to wake up one day, and not be able to feel anything from the neck down? Oh I forgot, you don't have any feelings.

If you can't feel anything then you don't need pain pills. You can't feel pain. Duh. You just need to get out of the house and let the stink role off of you.

Oh you are a pain pill pusher (Nurse). Now the truth comes out. Drug the patients up so you don't have to fool with them as much, and you can go look at the girls pictures on Facebook, and gossip. I see your game. All you nurses are the same. Think you are a Doctor and lazy.

You are very wrong in your opinion. Some people want to find out the cause of their pain and fix it. You have no idea what you are talking about. And where in the world did you get that Facebook comment? Go back under that rock and stay there. This conversation is for the grown-ups with some intelligence. And obviously you're not one of us!!

I work in the medical industry also. I know more about it than you think. I know the feds are offering a major incentive to drug companies to make a pain pill that cannot be abused and people cannot get high off of. I can't wait till that comes out, and all opiates are banned and you pill heads have to move to heroin, or suboxone for your fix. As soon as a pain pill is made that people can't get high off of they will all be crying say IT DON'T WORK DOCTOR. Just because somebody is in pain doesn't mean they deserve to be high.

No one here has expressed that they even want to take any opiates. We are discussing medical procedures not pain pills. Please re-read the comments before you spew out your opinion. Better yet, go on to one of the other topics that you have made so many comments on. Just go away!

Dear dumb ass, if you had bothered to read previous posts before you commented you would know that I never mentioned wanting or using pain pills. I am well educated and work 50 to 60 hours a week. I have 3 major neurological medical conditions. Yes, I woke up paralyzed from the neck down, and had to learn to speak, walk, and everything else all over again after having brain surgery to relieve the pressure on my brain.. I do not draw a check and sit on my butt like I'm sure you do. I was talking to another poster about Chiari, and it didn't have anything to do with pain meds. I to work in the medical industry, and yes there are plenty of pill heads out there, but maybe you should try to actually read posts before you act like a dumb ass and post comments that make you look like an idiot. I'm sure my tax dollars are paying for that Internet connection you use to post your idiotic ramblings. No one cares what you say on Topix. Once a troll, always a troll.

You are definitely a success story and I'm very happy to hear that! It's very good to know there are some successes out there! Not everyone is that lucky! The Cleveland Clinic is an excellent top-notch facility.

Seems like I hit a raw nerve (no pun intended) with you people. I clearly exposed you all. Doctor shopping. I would be ashamed if I were you people. Trying to Doctor shop like that and pad my files. No wonder this area has a pill problem with people like you all.

You made my point. All you people are addicted to pain pills. You people are not addicted to stretching exercises, or doing the right thing. The Pain Centers are just a facade to pad your files to say, "Look at me Doctor, I'm doing what you said to do, and it's not working, I need more pain pills". Yeah, I see it everyday.

You're totally off topic. This is about alternative treatments for pain, not pills or doctor shopping. Im sure most of us already are on pain meds anyhow. So go back to trolling your own threads, Kellie (or whoever you are).

I was speaking of the Primary Care Doctors that refered people to Pain Centers. People come back and say it didn't work and I still need the pills.

No, these type doctors don't give out pain pills. It's alternative treatments like internal stimulators & injections.
