I went there and did the shots but they didn't work on me.They don't work on everyone but its worth trying if you are hurting like me.Dr. Pandya and his staff and nurses are great. He wants me to try a stimulator that's is put in for the rest of my life.I haven't decided on that yet.I have heard it works on some and not on others. So the verdict is still out on that one.

I'm going to Dr Carraway at St Mary's for the spinal cord stimulator on Wednesday and I've been waiting for this since November. I will try anything to help with this pain so I won't have to take pain pills. I hope this works!!

I sure will. I went to Dr Briggs at KDMC a little over a year ago and I was not satisfied with him at all so my family doctor got me in at St Mary's. I've had 3 nerve blocks and the 2nd one helped the most. I'm glad I went there. I'm hoping for some relief with the implant. I had to retire due to an injury and I hate retirement. I'm also hoping it helps well enough so I can go back to work.

Years ago Dr Deitch ordered nerve blocks in back/neck region. A Dr Peirea (sp) on his own decided to do a ganglion nerve block...at base of brain. I thought I was going to die, face drooped, couldn't speak and hardly breathe. On follow-up he ordered an MRI which showed a tonscilar (sp) ectopia of 8-9 mm. Brain herniation. The nurse Sherrie was her name, told me "he hit something he wasn't supposed to" she told me this in private 3-4 times. I went for my records, they were gone. The Dr went to California. I would rather eat the crotch out of Oprah's panties before I would let any dr inject me, especially with KDMC

You have Chiari Malformation and what he hit was your cerebellum (the bottom of your brain). Chiari is a herniation of your cerebellar tonsils into your spinal cord, and with this condition you should never have injections in to your spine, I have chiari and had brain surgery to relieve the pressure. I can tell you from experience, you should never let any of the neurologists or neurosurgeons in Ashlsnd touch you with this condition. They have no clue. The Clevelad Clinic is the best place to seek treatment for a Chiari malformation. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Having to deal with headaches, balance problems (occassionally) and even speech sometimes and not sure if related but memory problems. It seemed convenient that they lost my records. I wonder if many people have had records disappear to hide their mistakes?
It seems this affected many things, even energy is down, again not sure if related. My ears constantly ring, not high blood pressure. I am certain if they had not lost my records I could have sued for the damage and quality of life, suffering. Prior MRI's had never shown this till that day. Is 8-9 mm bad? thank you alot

Dr Briggs injects my neck area every 6 months and has taken away alot of pain and made life alot better for me. His staff is great and he is a real nice guy. I haven't had a bad experience with them and don't expect to have one. I can have a more normal life now and Dr. Briggs is the main reason.

I guess he is good for some people. I also had a friend that went to him every so often and got injections that worked for him too. Not every doctor/patient relationship works out but if it works for you then I'm happy for you. Nobody knows how miserable true pain is until they have experienced it first hand. And when you find a way to alleviate that pain, it's a wonderful thing! Not everyone wants to live on pain pills and that's saying something for this area that we live in!!

I am happy for anyone who gets relief with the injections. My experience was in the pain clinic they had at the hospital in about 1998. Dr Pierra and I am not sure of spelling. As the RN Sherry told me,"he hit something he wasn't supposed to" I nearly died after the ganglion block, like a stroke. How convenient my records disappeared. I do have prior MRI reports that didn't show the brain herniation he, in my opinion, no doubt is responsible for.

I also saw Dr. Briggs at the spine & pain center and received injections in my spine twice. The first time thet helped a little, the second time not at all. They aren't sympathetic when it comes to pain at all. You people that want to yell pillhead..this is a spine and PAIN center, it's their job to prescribe meds for people in pain. You don't go to this place unless it's proven that you have legitimate pain. I know drugs are a problem but some people need them to walk. Yes I've seen a chiropractor, I have a permanent condition that is not relieved with exercise.
