I think everyone needs to come check out Mayday at the Iront VFW every Friday in May. They havent been around long enough to get a whole lot of recognition but theyre great! They play a variety of music and they mesh really well together! Theyve also played the greenup VFW, Ashland Eagles, Raging Bull, and a few other venues.

I would have to say Tim Sergent. He plays banjo and steel guitar for Dierks Bentley, also played for Dixie Chicks, Ricky Skaggs, Clay Walker and Mel Tillis.

I agree, but I guess I would since he's my dad! He's played with alot of big names in bluegrass and has a new band now, Summertown Road! Their new cd was just released not long ago! Everone should check them out!!!:)

I stumbled onto this discussion while searching for David Anderson. He was a great drummer. Southern rock to prog, he had the chops.... Anyone here know where he is now?

Tim Sergent is great as well. I played bass on his first record.

Don't know if this subject is worth getting all bent out of shape about. The Tri-state area has a rich history of great musicianship at every level. Be proud and never stop playing......

I mentioned David in an early post. He always carried his sticks and I was amazed that he could make music tapping everything along his path.

I have also been looking for him but have been unsuccessful. I have located a mutual friend and will post if he has knowledge of whereabouts.

David lives in Ashland and owns Anderson heat & air. He still plays drums but only for fun...

Lol!! He was an awesome guy, and quite the musician. One of my close friends still visits his grave regularly and I go with her when I am able. Gosto will always remain in our hearts.

<quoted text> They are a truly remarkable band , very intertaining. The only problem is the guy who plays the bass guitar, thinks he is a rock god.. I think he played with billy ray in the 80s local of course, corky took the reins and waa la. He needs to shut up and let someone else sing. Hes embarasing to the band and all who come and see them play.
Not so ...he is an awsome bass player nd a phenomenal entertainer, nd he has the sexiest feet i've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!LOL!
