This is the shadiest company that I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with in my life. Manipulated me into thinking I had to finance a head stone for my father's grave with them the day we made the arrangements. I've been repeatedly lied to by multiple employees of Golden Oaks and the parent management company. I regret everyday that my family is buried there and even more that I've already paid these people for mine and my mother's lots. Makes me sick.

I've never seen anything like it. The people in the office are amazing liars. The guy I talked to today tried to make me believe that I met with him before and talked to him about my problem and made an agreement with him. They shouldn't be allowed to be in the business theyre in.

They pulled that crap on us after we ordered a head stone from another co. We paid for a temporary marker and they pulled it up because we got a lawer after them. We won but they were very shady and rude.

That's exactly what they've done to me. The lady that was working when my dad died promised me that they would leave a temporary down until the permanent one was paid for. They decided to pull it up last year; because, their administration in my opinion is incompetent, without any notification. I didnt even know until my sister went to visit and couldn't find the grave. I told them that I wanted out of the contract and they refused. So I quit paying altogether while I've been seeking legal counsel. Today a guy named Damon Chomo called and said he's taking the temporary off again and if I replace it, he'll have the replacement removed.

I buried my sister there and also bought 2 more plots. My dad died and couldnt get anyone to come up and open the grave, had to bury dad at Ash. Cemetary. then mom passed and had to put her next to dad(of course) and they said I dont own those lots anymore. I chased the guy out of the office but, that dont change the fact that my family is seperated and the old rugged cross(where my sis is) is slipping over the hill,,now what??? smh very bad company to own a cemetary...

That's one of them. I asked him for the phone number to the corporate office last year when he jerked the head stone off my dad's grave He told me that he wasn't allowed to give it out. I called Rose Hill who's ran by the same company and they gave it to me no questions asked. He's a dbag

That's terrible that someone has to go through this drama just to bury their loved one.

Especially terrible when you go to visit your loved one and can't find the grave.

I wonder if things are any better from last December when the thread was opened....hummm

Sounds like a bunch of crooks are running the place.

It's just awful!

My friends wife died unexpectedly, and they charged him a fortune for a grave site for her. They took advantage of his grief.
When my 21 yr old nephew died, my uncle was getting ready to write a big check, but luckily I got there just in time. They were overcharging him like crazy.
I took over and saved my uncle at least 1000 dollars.
Any company that takes advantage of people in times of grief, can't sink any lower.

I had to bury two of my loved ones within a year. I chose Golden Oaks because I also had a grandson buried there. I have had nothing but caring and concern from them for our entire family. They were very patient with me when my payments were late. Today when I was there they came over and asked me if I had any concerns or questions. They went around the entire cemetery and asked people the same questions. That doesn't sound to me like the same people you are talking about. Thank you Golden Oaks for being so kind to our family through some of the worst times in our lives.

I have had a wonderful experience with golden oaks...I buried my mother there in march. and have had no trouble with them at all.. They were very helpful caring and even the ground man helped me out by putting straw down to help the grass grow. I wouldn't want mother in any other place...

Hi,

I created a petition to The Kentucky State House, The Kentucky State Senate, and Governor Steve Beshear which says:

"We want the burial/cemetery industry to remain a free market and enterprise allowing consumers to choose what products they receive and from which providers with laws that protect consumers from "contractual jamming" during the period of grief immediately after the death of a loved one. "

Will you sign this petition? Click here:

Thanks!
