Look at what he has.......DEBT and will forever be in debt, always getting loans to buy his way to Catlettsburg. Yes he makes a huge percentage of pawn by value. But check his debt. Even Riggs could not keep them out! There is a good manager there somewhere.

to all you people out there that our jelous of the people that does BETTER . its sad to say . i just hope that i dont ever have to wake up like he does and have the debt like he has hanging over my head. you people only see the colors of his life. try looking at the black and white. he and his family work VERY VERY HARD to have a buisness like they have . and if they would stop today it would be all taken away. it will pay off for there children in the long run and that is exactly what they hope for is for there children to not have to know what its like to have to get out there and struggle. i can honestly say they ALL have been wonderful to me and my family and our buisness (scoutline auto parts),(boyd county glass). you people should not put buisness owners like jc and his family of workers ( DOWN ). BE HAPPY FORM THEM TO BETTER THERE SELF EVERY DAY.......... THANKS FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO JC AND TRI STATE PAWN SHOP.

Thieves work for pawn shops. They steal, take it to them, they give them enough money to support their drug habit and then on to the next family to steal from. I would say 95% of their items are knowingly hot, but it makes them money. They take evidence away from crooks, melt down jewelry for gold and then the crooks can't be held liable. You can't tell me that they don't know they are buying items that are stolen. Any idiot would know that. Then when you call to see if someone has pawned your stolen stuff, they lie, even when the serial numbers match. Then they tell you the only way they will give you the stolen items back is if you will pay for them yourself. And...will not tell you who pawned the items.....stolen from your own home. If that's not being a crook, I don't know what is. Receiving stolen property on a daily basis......that's something to be proud of! Also, it contributes to the terrible drug problem, now that's really helping the community! I will never shop at a pawn shop, they are thieves!

I would get your facts before you speak.
pawnshops receive less than 1% of stolen merchandise. Out of that one percent 95% is recoverd by the police departments. check out the research the facts. The problem is that there are more laws that protect crimanals than victums. The pawnshops can't give you info about other people even if they had your stuff they couldn't tell you because their bound by the law not too. I will tell you what you need to watch out for is all of these check cashing places & jewelry stores that buy jewelry & gold and do not report it to the police. All pawnshops (at least in the ashland area) report to the police everyday what - when - who & where everytime they do buisness with someone. the others don't. so if your a smart crook take your gold to one of those places don't take it to a pawnshop or you will get caught! TRUST ME I KNOW.

P.S. thieves don't work at pawnshops i have friends that work at pawnshops. I wish i worked for one ha.. at least i would have a job. plus the deals man i love pawnshops all kinds of cool stuff.

Its a pawn shop! They buy from people who are desperate for money. They want your stuff for the least amount so they can make money off ya! I stop by there once in a while for blu-ray movies. I once saw a guy sale his dvd's there for 50 cents each.

Beyond maybe some music and movies they are way to much on stuff like cameras and computers. We wanted a window air conditoner once for our upstairs kids room. They had a small one for $85. It looked old with dials and everything. I bought one at walmart new for $95.

But hey they are taking it in from desperate people and stupid people are buying it. If not they would not be open. If you dont like dont go in there!!

The thieves I am referring to are not employees of pawn shops, they are the drug addicts who are stealing from our homes and our community, who then take their items to the pawn shops. They do not turn all their incoming items it to the police. I know this for a fact. Yes, criminals are protected more than the victims, as from experience, police say they had some stolen items, then all of a sudden, several of those items are gone, already sold before police can get them back for evidence or the victim can get them, fact. And lying when someone calls to see if something is sold there by someone who robs a home/homes saying they dont have it.....and then again, all of a sudden, the police checks and it is there. Authorities also agree about this, heard it first hand. There again, criminals are protected so the pawn shops can make money on what good citizens work and pay for and then are invaded by these drug addicts. Anyone that can't see the truth in all of that must be on the wrong side of the law. Shops pay the criminals cash so there are no record of them selling anything, cash instead of "pawning", even the authorities have said this pubically....and they melt down the stolen jewelry down as quick as they get it, so again, no evidence. Anyone that constantly brings in items to sell or "pawn", tv, electronics, jewelry, etc, anyone good upstanding business person should be respectable enough to turn these criminals in, however, they don't, because as I stated, "thieves work for pawn shops". It can't get any more simple than that. I know too, first hand. It is a shame, receiving stolen property is a felony, it happens every day, but it makes them money, that is the important thing i guess to pawn shop owners. One could tell a thief from someone who wants to sell something for some extra cash, its not that hard to do.

I guess some of of you people dont know what its like to be broke and have to get gas to get to work or buy diapers for your kids, mom and dad must of handed it all to you. i have known JC and the whole gang at Tri State Pawn, they have been nothing but nice and helpful to me. those of you that think he takes nothing but stolen stuff. then why is it those people that pawn are not in jail, since everything that is pawned is reported to APD and BCSD. so pretty much if something is stolen then one of those department take that item and arrest the person pawning it. the pawn shop loses even if their is not a arrest. they want you to come and get you stuff. would rather see it go back to its owner then put on the shelf and sit there. but as the old saying goes one persons junk is another mans treasure. lets see you start out from scratch and build what JC has. i remember JC before he owned his shop and was working in WV at another pawn shop. I SEE ASHLAND HASNT CHANGED AT ALL, EVERYONE STILL JUDGES PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THEIR PAST OR BECAUSE THEY HAVE MORE THEN YOU.. FUCKING POSERS

About a year ago I was in a really bad spot financially. I took my class ring down to pawn, they said they would only give me $10 for it, when I had paid well over $400. It was real gold and diamonds. I had other jewelry I had taken down and got better prices on them. I got all the items on separate pawn tickets so I could pick one up at a time or make a payment one at a time. Not even a month later, I returned to pick up my class ring first and they sent it to be melted, but the rest of my jewelry was still in pawn. The lady marked my class ring as if I sold it to them and sent it to be melted. I broke down right there in the middle of the store. A woman who was in front of me told me they did the same thing to her and when the lady behind the counter saw her talking to me she told her to mind her own business. The woman never aplogized to me or offered to make it right. I didn't ask for a manager or anything, I just left because I was so upset. From that point I've never done business with them. I've even heard from other people similar things happening.

KFields your statment about the police taking the property is wrong, and about the pawn shop loosing money wrong again. My brother had some things stold from his home, those Items were taken to this very same pawnshop and what Items that were not sold he had to pay to get back.sure they will make it right if you pay for it even if you are the victem of a crime. It's all about the Money With J.C.He's no different.

yep,. Same thing happened to a neighbor, the stuff was there, had serial numbers and everything, was told they had to pay to get it back, police saw it, then after going back again, all of a sudden the jewelry was gone, tv was gone, and they had already done away with it, that's only been a few weeks ago, true facts. All these burgularies in BC, the stuff ends up at local pawn shops. It isn't being pawned, it's being bought outright, no receipts, no id had to be shown, true fact, fact directly from authorities and directly from a neighbor, it's all the pawn shops, not just a certain pawn shop, the robbers take turns whom they sell to, I guess so all will benefit, except the victims.
