well, i could care less about their sex life, I am about to have a total knee replacement done there next month, i chose kdmc due the care i have received in the past, but now i am not sure. is this kathy person gone? i don't want overworked nurses taking care of me when i will no doubt be in alot of pain. I would just like to know about the patient care and quality of care of these nurses, so I can see if I need to go to Bellefonte, ugghhh, I really don't want to go there!!
Don't let them bother you. Everyone is interested in the PERSONAL affairs of everyone else, I get on here to see what people say for giggles. It is interesting to hear what other people think, even if you don't care. Most people that say mean things are just mad at someone for something dumb and trash the whole department (not just ours). But I don't want you to get the wrong impression. I work on that floor and you are 100% in great hands. They do their job, enjoy it, and as of the last 6 months, a lot of new nurses have been hired and the staffing is much better. As for Kathy, don't worry about her, she does make it harder to do our jobs... you should have support from a nursing manager, but we are eachothers' support and she's not the one giving you the hands on care. Except for the brand new ones, everyone else has many years on that floor... and the new ones were trained by them. So rest easy, we ALWAYS do our best to make the best of your stay. Almost every orthopedic patient is thrilled when they go home. All our surgeons are good, I just hope you have one of the better ones, that does make a big difference. Good luck.

I agree, I work around the corner from them on surgical recovery , they are very good over there. They have their specialty and we have ours, but they are very good at what they do... and I might add with a good attitude, they don't care to have fun with their patients and coworkers.

Thanks for your input. Dr. Aiken is doing my surgery right after Christmas, so this information has eased my mind!!! Thanks for the feedback, and I look forward to seeing you guys!:)

Thats what I heard too, I hope so for them, shes so clueless to what floor nurses go through. Anyway, those girls do a great job, especially considering what all they put up with!!
