I heard the youth minister @ bruce/hillcrest mission was arrested for rape of a minor...how long has he worked there? who knows him?? what info if any have you heard on this case? was this a case of a disgruntled youth accusing a innocent man or do you think he did what he is accused of? Has there been any indication of him acting funny/peculiar around young girls before? Do you think his position of power is what he lorded over them?>?? Just curious..

The guy hasn't even been convicted and yet his face is plastered all over the internet as if he's a hardened criminal. What if they find him not guilty - do they say "oh, sorry we've ruined your life, carry on and good luck". The media needs to be held accountable for this type of journalism.

What media? This is topix. If you mean WSAZ's article all it gave was an account of the charges against him by the State Police ..what he was being charged with and that he was arrested..how is that bad journalism. No one said he was guily or innocent thats for a jury of his peers to decide..if he is innocent of these charges and it is proven so in a court of law then how is that ruining his life? Personally would seem like vindication to me...As far as topix goes people will have neg/positive comments either way..this is a gossip site for petes sake. If you want journalism buy the daily Dissapointment and quit bitch*n.

Nathan Is a friend of mine, and while I can't conclusively say he DIDN'T do it, I find it Highly improbable that he did. He's a very spiritual person and very much in love with his wife. They both already know that they have my support if there's anything I can do for them.

3rd degree rape is sex with a minor, consensual or not. If the guy is married - he has other issues I'm sure his wife & family will let him know about.

He signed a confession? what did it say he raped the girl or had consensual sex with her? either way yes he is married and has a lot more problems coming down the road. I would say his wife would be taking it hard,,Its one thing to be a cheater when your just average joe blow but to be a cheater espically with a underage girl when your a youth minister....is well ..in my book pretty unforgivable.

I don't know what happened but I do know his parents are wonderful people. I am inclined to believe that maybe he had a lapse in judgement. The girl was 16 and they got carried away. Yes the age difference is to much. But consider that girls at 16 are 25 mentally and guys at 28 are 16. I think it was innocent but he got caught. I have seen this before. Am I saying it was right? NO. I am saying not all rape charges are as they seem. I lived in the same neighborhood years ago with him and his parents they raised him in church and with morals. Something gone wrong. God bless the family. So sorry you are going through this.

A lapse in judgement??? Is that what your calling it? A 28 year old married man has sex with a 16 year old and its a lapse of judgement?? It was innocent but he got caught? I think the church rasing and the morals must have been skipped in class ..Yea somethings gone wrong..this whole dam worlds gone wrong and the people who live in it that can come up with the kind of lame=brained excuse you just did. The masses just need to drink the kool-aid and be done with it..shessssssssssssssssssssshh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

This same type of scenario happened to a friend of mine 30 years ago - same ages. It was wrong then and it's wrong now.

But ...

my friend divorced his wife (no children luckily). Married the girl when she turned 17. They have been together ever since and have four children and six grandchildren.

Right now it looks like pure hell - but there is always hope, and in some cases forgiveness.

No one for sure knows it is a true story. You know how those young people are they start having children at 12. The world is crazy. Morals what's that. Kids aren't taught that anymore. Parents are too busy planning next baby with next daddy.

I can't believe the people on here condoneing and excusing rape. Mabey he didn't do it. Why not just say "I think the man didnt do it, or I think he is innocent". At least you have a position of clarirty a actual wrong/right situation. But thats not what people do they argue from a stance that allright he did it..so it must be the fact that girls are mature @ 16 and extroplating from that premise they are moralless and planning a baby daddy so they must have lured a poor unspecting 28 year old young man down the primrose path to sex. Or he just made a silly mistake of judgement, cause you know girls are so much muture than men why what 28 year old cant be swayed by a hot to trot 16 year old. You people make me sick. I bet your the same people that said why I know that Jerry sandusky is innocent he is such a good man and he has that charity that helps those poor underprivleged children. You know they all com e from broken bad homes/they are probably making all that stuff up to get money.
I am sickened by you people...sickened...sickened ...and I am sure you sick fuc*s will get on here trying to defend your selfs ...Save it sickos were all tired of the excuses...

Probably not the Ashland police do everything ass backwards. I think it would be a shame if it is not true and he is accused of such a horrible crime. That is one thing no one every forgets or believes it's not true.

I know Nat and Cynthia better than anyone on this board, i will promise you. I have known him for over a decade. I know his parents, his Dad is like a father to me. Nat cares for nothing more than the salvation and the spiritual prospering of the youth of this area. I have personally done several forms of ministry with him. He and I arent close anymore and have had a falling out a few years back, we are still on friendly terms, just not like it was.
When I saw this I was very surprised/shocked. There is no way on earth that I think Nat forced himself on this girl. I would only believe it if he confessed doing it out of his own mouth. Nat is not that kind of a person.
I do however think it was consensual between the two. One thing led to another and it should not have. I am sure Cynthia is taking this very hard and I know his parents are. If it is true its a very bad thing, because he will never be able to work with youth again, even if proven innocent. Once you have that label you cannot shake it. Its very sad he allowed this to happen. Its hard enough to get people to understand who Christ is when this kind of thing occurs. It hurts every persons credibility who is in any religious position of 'power.' Thats the sad part about it. Nat if you read this, you know who this is, you can contact me if you wish, you know how.

It's still considered rape even if she did consent, because of their ages and his position of trust. He is trash.
