Thinking about transfering 2 Fairview for softball, but I have some questions!
1.What kind of program do they have?
2.Who is the head coach?
Thanks -

They have a solid team, and have since 2003 or so. Also, to the best of my knowledge, their head coach is still Tonia Lucas. Someone correct me if I'm wrong in that...

Rick Thompson I believe is the coach. They are not that good. With Ashland and Boyd Co in the same district they will finish last every year.

i play for rick thompson on fairview, he doesnt pick favorites. he gives everyone a chance at a position, and lets the best player have it.

When u have 7th and 8th graders playing varsity, u can't be that good. In the next few years, Boyd Co and Ashland will both be powerhouses.

I know the 7th & 8th graders who play varsity and they are very good players they deserve the positions they play

Excuse me but i started varsity my 7th grade year and 8th grade...went on to start all 4 hs years as well... You cant make a comment like that... Depends on the player....both my 7th grade year and my 8th i had best batting average.... And no i didnt play for fairview... I played for russell.... Went on to get a scholarship... i will agree that fairview is not a power house... but they seem to be on track of building a great program... Tonia lucas did wonders for that place... It used to be a joke to have to play them just 5 years ago.. But not now... by no means are they a great conteneder but they sure have improved... Will be interesting to watch them in the upcoming years....

They are great girls and good players. But not varsity level yet. I guess what I'm saying is I don't think they could make varsity on a bc or Ashland or Russell team. It takes an exceptional 12 yr old to play against 18 yr olds and be competitive. They are a few that come along. But not that often.

I do agree somewhat but you tell me how many 7th or 8th do you know who is tough enough to take the brutal force of some of the 11th and 12th grade kids hitting line drives at them or sliding into them full force (not many)I commend these little ones for their effort without them we wouldn't have a team and just imagine when they are the upper classmen WATCH OUT.....
