It’s common sense that people should give others a reasonable amount of respect. When people purposefully try to intimidate, defame, show off, start horrific rumors, and practically destroy the respect of other businesses there is a problem.
The recent actions by the owner of Vida Loca Salon, who chose to display 2 large billboards promoting their new beauty salon, just one block from Identity Salon, where several beauticians at VL had previously worked , is in extremely bad taste! YOU could have chosen dozens of other places to hang your boards, but you chose 2 back to back which was merely to slap another business in the face. The owner of Vida Loca has continuously spread false rumors about local businesses. No business is above the cut. How sad to be so insecure that you have to attempt to hurt other businesses in order to attract business to your own salon. Good Manners display respect, care, and consideration !!!!!!!!

Where are your manners?

I saw the big signs on my way home this evening on the same street as BJ's Identity Salon. Who is the owner of Vida Loco? What bad taste to do something like that.

RUMORS have been flying from within VL. Why does VL have to be such a rumor mill? There is plenty of hair for everyone to cut.

Some local small businesses feel the need to demean or belittle their competitors to make up for what they lack. Identity owners and staff have supported other local businesses along with creating a respective name for themselves. Kudos to Identity Salon for not displaying unprofessional manners!

Actually, of I'm not mistaken, the owner of VL is a former stylist @ Identity. Obviously someone is holding a grudge....

I do not think a former stylist is the owner, he is just pretending to be. Teri Clark is the owner and must be the one with no class!!! hahaha

OMG! THE BILLBOARDS ARE TACKY, BUT YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT Vida Loca's Facebook page. What a real mess! What are they trying to prove with that photo on there!! The stylists and owner Terri are posed with all of them making a finger gun,a hand gesture in which they have used their hand to mimic a handgun, raising their thumb above their fist to act as a hammer, and one or two fingers extended perpendicular to it acting as a barrel. Many schools suspend students from school after making a gun gesture with their fingers due to zero tolerance. What image is Vida Loca trying to provide to our youth? The public deserves to require No Tolerence to this inappropriate photo. THEY have NO CLASS! Identity Salon is the Professional Group!

INTERESTING!! I just looked Vida Loca up on Facebook as you suggested. My my what a pose. That is their cover photo for their professional salon page. I also discovered that Vida Loca means a "WILD AND CRAZY LIFE" in Spanish.
Maybe that is the image they want the public to believe. My sister, daughter, aunt, mother in law and I all go to Identity Salon. YEAH for the professionals there!

I'm not writing to praise or bash either business. I would like to say it is painfully obvious that all those posts made on here are made by the same lonely, spiteful, vindictive person. It really should tell you something that no one else has backed up your statements. Now who has no manners
or class?

I don't believe those comments are all alike from a sore lonely soul, but even if it were the same person, their point about the location of the billboards were obviously to hurt whether feeling or business was in bad taste. Why don't you take time to drive by and see them for yourself and you be the judge of their tackiness. What's bad is they are beautiful Billboards, and truly should be displayed. But anyone can tell that was strategically placed in that spot to cause an uproar.

You are so right! They do great cuts and styles. It's your (back) you have to worry about. They have a tendency to talk behind it when you leave.

This is insane, people posting about billboards, how sad. Why would identity have to worry if they were so good? I do not know I am just asking? These bilboards are all over, not just close to identity, sounds like someone is taking things a little too personal.

Too Personal, they should take it that way. YOU are so right,
there are billboards all over town, it must have been really hard to secure two side by side Billboards right in front of Identity?? Identity does not need to advertise, they have long standing customers and they do not have to post 5-7 billboards all over Ashland. You are absolutely right, Identity had nothing to worry about, they do an excellant job. It appeared that the entire point of this forum was not to challenge who cut or styled hair better or how sensitive anyone might be to seeing a sign, it is about having respect for other businesses in this small town.

Many stylists are in this town. But other salons would not make things up about businesses in the same town. Yes someone is Not Trustful, at least one person there does not tell the truth. Untrue rumors from their salon have attempted to hurt other businesses.
