Aspen Dental worked on a couple of my teeth and damaged more in the long run. I had to go to an oral surgeon to have things straightened up. Beware of them they just want money and rotate dentists in and out. They will put you on the payment plan and mess up all of your teeth. BEWARE

A family member of mine went there and they told her that she had like 3 cavities and was going to charge her alot, she told them with her insurance she was only suppose to pay $50.00,,,,,,,,so she left and went to someone else; guess what? NO cavity and the charge was $50.00

They advertise first exam is free... beware because they end up charging you by sending you home with a special kind of toothbrush.. cost 190... a special kind of mouthwash.. and toothpaste and your initial cleaning is two separate visits. Don't fall for the special kind of toothbrush you can buy a power toothbrush at a retail store for about 7 bucks and it has more power. Also.. they are eager to take all kinds of xrays on your first exam. Once they start caring for your and you end up with a damaged tooth and are dying in pain... they won't even do an xray on you then instead they will tell you that is not your tooth hurting that you probably have a sinus infection. Very disappointed in Aspen Dental!

Oh wow...that sounds like my visit! I went for very minor work and they wouldnt do it. Took several xrays, like 20 or so, given a statement of $4000 in treatment and no work done that day! I went over the statement with the office manager and there it was..$190 toothbrush!! They told me that they probably wouldnt bill my insurance and I told them they had better not!! I came in to get a tooth fixed that had chipped and didnt ask for any xrays or whatnot, and walk out with that kind of statement!! Seriously, that outfit isnt going to last long here. My dentist, that only took 15 minutes to fix the tooth, said the same thing. WOW

I went there as well because I had an abcessed tooth. They spent over an hour torturing my mouth to take x-rays, and then took me back to the rooms. Their rooms aren't private so there was another patient in the room with me. The oral hygienist stabbed at my gums a bunch and then told me I had gingivitis and then tried to convince me to buy that stupid toothbrush. I got my quote and it was over $4000, for a root canal, 4 fillings, and 2 cleaning visits.

Needless to say, I went to a different dentist. Dr. Beadle in Catlettsburg is incredible and affordable. I ended up getting my tooth pulled for $85, and then he tells me I only need 2 fillings and that I DID NOT HAVE GINGIVITIS! A cleaning is only $30.

ASPEN DENTAL IS A JOKE! They are only out for your money, and it sounds like they tell everyone the same thing. Not to mention they get insanely pissed when you ask to have your x-rays transferred to another dentist.

Barry Schaeffer is the best dentist I have ever been to. I have work that he did 30 years ago that is still just as good as new.

I'm curious. How do they charge for the first visit? I thought I saw a ad awhile back for free consult, I'm sure that could not include xrays. Who is the dentist? I thought the whole mall dental thing seemed odd.

They do not charge you for the first visit or the x-rays, but they do not actually do any work on you other than checking your mouth. Then they make you another appointment to come back and get your cleanings and everything else done, and then jack the prices way up so they probably get their money back for the free x-rays. You think you are getting it free, but one filling there is $150-200 and it should only cost no more than $70. And a cleaning is broken up into 2 visits, each one costing over $100. It is $30 at my dentist and he does it all in one visit.

Well as the saying goes nothing is free. Besides the cost who in their right mind wants to make 2 trips for a cleaning? I don't expect it will be there long.

I use Aspen Dental and I have been impressed with the care that I have gotten. Yes they roped me in with that crazy tooth brush but its my fault for not going over the statement with a fine tooth comb. The payment plan they offer helps me get the dental work done that needs done. I recommend them and I will keep going back.

I have been a dental assistant for 17 years "not at Aspen" and a friend of mine told me about what they did to him and I seen the tooth.. They pulled a tooth of his and in order for them to pull the tooth they took a drill to the tooth behind it 'which is a good tooth" and grinded it down.."Their reasoning for this was so they could get a better grip on the bad tooth" Now since they did this his good tooth is hurting him because they removed the enamel off the side of it!! This is NOT how you pull a tooth, I have worked in the dental field for 17 years and 10 of those years was working with a Oral Surgeon, I have NEVER seen this done.. I have also heard several other bad stories of this place.. They are trying to cater to people with NO Ins by offering payment plans, but their payment plans are insanely over priced.. Before going to this place check around at some "good" dentists and have your teeth fixed the right way.. Most dentists in our area have a payment plan called Care Credit.. Just my 2 cents worth..also I went for a interview there before they opened and they wanted to hire me but I wasnt comfortable with the way they where going to do things.. mainly pushing X-rays that where not needed and the $190.00 tooth brush, it was ran more like a money making business rather than a Dentist helping patients.

Go to dr porter in flatwoods. He is a good dentist, his staff is always nice, and has reasonable prices. A cleaning is $60. And im getting ready to have two of my wisdom teeth pulled and it is only going to cost me $188, dont have insurance so thats out of pocket.

On my first visit there they wouldn't let me leave until i bought the tooth brush saying it was my obligation to buy the damn thing.. They threatened to call the cops and i said "not if I beat you to it" and needless to say they let me go but wouldn't let me have ANY of the paper work proving i was there!

P.S: That was also my LAST visit.

They have to do X-rays before they can do any work. But I find it hard to believe that you had a bill for $4000.00 with no work done. Do not believe it.
