Can we not agree this is an immoral lesson? If so, then why would you wish it to be taught to children?
Love God,
Love your neighbor,
Love your enemy...
That's WHY it's called "The NEW Testament"

this would be a good thing.when i went to school we had a lady come once a week, she didnt teach religion, she told bible stories,it was a good break, she told the stories with pictures, also the first thing in the morning, we sang songs said the pledge for about 15 minutes.it set the tone for the day,as a child grows into adult hood, they will adopt their own beliefs, this is a stepping stone. they will believe in something, why not let them start with the goods things, if they dont hear good things when they are small, they wont know they have a choice.as i got older and heard different things,i choose what was to me the best, our children need a good positive in their lives.for some it will be the only time they will hear the name god, jesus, lord.at least they will have a choice.

Nope.. Doesn't bother me at all... I would not use C-14 radiometric dating to date a piece of chrome alloy... Just as I would not use a dozen other methods to date Volcanic outflow... I can take a sedimentary rock and pick a method of dating that will give me a vastly wrong data set if I want to snow the uninformed for a agenda...
No dating method stands alone, you do not date something One way and make a stand on the reliability of the dating.. For an example.. I dig a hole and find what looks like a camp site... I find a fire pit and stone tools, I find pottery and other artifacts and I use radiometric dating on the charcoal, I use uranium isotope dating on the pottery, I use stratigraphic dating on the site as a whole, and I use other assorted methods for other items found... I do not automatically, because I find a Mercury Dime, say the site is from the 1920's when all the other assorted methods point to 15,000 bc...
Of course you don't date it by the 1920 dime! That would be how you might date a time capsule!
"stratigraphic dating"? I'll google it, but that's what you'd date the layer it's in?

Had some pretty good info on these dating techniques...
Now... what would it mean IF these layers were laid down quikly by some disaster... I don't say... A major flood?

How can you not know this after being on this thread for so long?
I KNOW what you SAY it is....
The Truth is found in Romans!
1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools:
1:23 And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an
image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and
four-footed beasts, and creeping animals.
1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the
lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between
themselves:
1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and
served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for
ever. Amen.
1:26 For this cause God gave them up to vile affections. For
even their women did change the natural use into that which is
against nature:
1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the
woman, burned in their lust one towards another; men with men
working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves
that recompense of their error which was meet.
1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their]
knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those
things which are not convenient;
...
There is more, but you just don't get it!
...
Here's what you say is hatefull...
Us: Please! turn from your sin, ask God to forgive you...
We want you in Heaven with us!
...
You: "I'll let you fill this part in!"

Then those layers would contain a scatter debris field.. Withing that field would be assorted items in the layer of sand, mud or other medium of the flood and very simple to identify just as we identify the coverage area of a tsunami wave from 1000's of years ago.. Such as in Greece after the Santoreni eruption.. Where we can follow the sediment and debri field right up the land to where it crested..

If you wish to mention the biblical version of Noah and the flood then we can because in the even of such a flood it would be simple to identify the single layer said to have been laid down in a 40 day, 40 night deluge and what ever time it took to recede..

So lets be specific... You tell me Exactly when such a flood happened (say within 1000 years)... How deep was the water? How much of the planet was covered, and How long did the water stay at a set depth... I Know what the Biblical Texts say and if I take them as written I can say with out a doubt it Did Not Happen (.. Unless Magic is involved... But tell me specifically how it happened in your mind...

His supporters do not detest Mexican-Americans and never have.. He actually has Mexican-Americans as supporters... What most of his Supporters detest is Illegal Mexican Nationals being allowed to pretend to be Mexican-Americans... And many are not so happy with the Idiotic concept of Hyphenated People altogether.. The Idea of defining Groups to pit against each other for political gain is detestable...
And while I thought McCain was the Dog in that race his VP pick was far more qualified for the Presidency that the one elected... When asked by interviewers Obama Supporters 9 out of 10 times stated that it was ridiculous that she stated she could see Russia from her front porch.. That is more a Condemnation of the mental ability of the Obama Supporters than her cognitive abilities... Since she Never said it and was said by Tina Fey pretending to Be Sarah... Well lets see... A Governor of a state that had great state benefits and worked with assorted Dem, Republican, Independents and Biz to get bills passed that gave Alaska enough funding to send each and every citizen a check every year for their share of profits... A Mother that had to deal with family issues of a rebellious daughter and out of wed lock special needs grand daughter... A college grad that received several academic achievement awards ... A Mayor of a small Town... As a Governor she took on the Good Ol Boy Republican Senate and signed into law several regulations to deal with it... And all of her academic records are open to the public
So Yes.. She was Far More Qualified than a Guy that that went from Radical street organizer, had his democratic opponents disqualified so he could win his Ill Primary and be senator for a few days before he became a presidential candidate... All the while spending so far as we have found out over 4 million dollars to block much of his background ....
And I do watch Fox News... I also watch MSNBC, CBS, NBC and several other news outlets.... I read The Drudge Report, Online blogs, The Wall street Journal, The New York Times, The Mountain Advocate... I listen to Rush Limbaugh and NPR... To Glen Beck and Joe Scarborough... To left fanatics and right kooks.... And I Never Believe just because of political bias and Dogma.. You should try it...

Ah.. But there is a Difference... There is No Evidence for what you claim... There is Evidence for what those you oppose ... Why.. There is Paper Work that states Berry was Enrolled in grade schools and was a Muslim.. There is statements from his Grand Mother that he was born in her country... The Mayor of his grandmothers home is on video stating they have name schools and streets in honor of his birth there... I could go on with evidence but I have stated long ago none of that matters... It does not matter if he was born in down town Moscow as long as his mother was a US Citizen... But I can understand that the Evidence is there to allow reasonable question as to place of birth... And to what was stated as his faith at some point in time...
What I have a problem with is his History as a Socialist... You may love the Idea of National Socialism.. I Don't... So I base my issues with some of the things we have evidence for that should be considered...
I believe we should be the Republic that we started as!

Well, I like Kent Hovind's hypothosis on the subject!
He says that the mass freezing of the Mammoths could only have happend if the earth was hit by a comet, flash freezing the critters with food still in their mouths, AND breaking up the fountains of the deep!
We do not know the topography of the earth 46-4800 years ago!
Grand canyon caverns (formerly Dinosaur caverns) was formed as a water drain with ports (they guess) emptied out into the colorado!
What IF these ports actually took water down to the "Deep" the Bible talks about... out of sight! What IF the oceans were not as deep as they are now... would explain Where the waters went!
I'm NOT sorry... I believe the Biblical account, as written!
Because, I know God is real, and in the end... it's not going to matter when, and how God did something... He did it!
Great day to you, and yours!

Not one bit of that fits the evidence or even makes as they say around here "A Lick of Sense"....

Let's start with flash freezing.. Are you serious.. From a cometary strike where temps would rise several thousand degrees at the impact site ... What possible set of event could cause a drop in temps from a impact strike... Maybe if enough debri were tossed into the atmosphere to cause a reduction in sun light but that would take months after the global fire storms ended... And any impact large enough to do that would have left easy to spot evidence if it happened within the last 50,000 years...

And yes we Do know the topography 50k years ago.. We can even tell where mountains were, sea beds and where plants and animals lived, the climate and the geology at most periods ... The Grand Canyon was Not formed by the drainage into the Colorado.. It was actually initially formed by a river running in the opposite direction after it went through a uplift of the valley then later a drop of the western range.. It also had some undercut fault washouts over time..

You might as well start from the view point that you Believe in Magic and not even bring up anything else because for what you Believe requires Magic by definition... Forget everything to do with science, computers, geology ect. and just say the World was magically formed by God 6,000 years ago and was made to look old because, heck, it's magic and he can do anything...
