Have you ever noticed that when you checkout ,after having your hair done, the person that done your hair has to stand there so when ask if you want to leave a tip you will be guilted into giving one.I really like the way they do my hair but I pay 28.00 dollars just for a hair cut doesn't the hair dresser get any of that?Does anyone know who to call to complain about this?

I is customary to leave your hairdresser a 10% tip unless they are the owner of the shop then you are not expected to tip. Don't be a tight wad! 10%=$2.80.

Should be a number on your receipt to call or a web address. To complain directly, I think the salon manager is Robin Roark or the store manager if Keith Kinkiner. But both of them will probably just dismiss your complaints, you're better off with the corporate complaint system on the receipt.

The woman who cut my hair there totally screwed it up. I didn't even want to pay, let alone leave a tip. However, it is customary to tip your hairdresser 10%.

They don't get commission on anything they do with hair - i.e. cut, color, perm, etc. They only get commission on hair products - i.e. shampoo, conditioner, etc.

Take it as this

You get what you pay for. If you don't want to pay $28 for your hair to look fabulous by all means go to Fantastic Sams or Smart Syle and pay $10 for a cut. People like me - I'm a hairstylist who charges $28 for a shampoo cut & syle - we will be here to fix that $10 hair cut when your mortified bc they totally screwed up.

If the woman screwed up your hair you should have called and spoken to the manager when you got home. I don't like to "make a scene" but with the price of everything complaining discreetly isn't out of the question. It doesn't happen very often but that's what I do.

What?? They are not standing there for a tip! They never even ask for a tip. I pay linda a tip because it how I roll;) If you dont like it dont tip. If you dont like your $28 hair then dont go back. I like Linda! She has cute my hair for almost 20 years. She knows whats good on me. We do change it up everynow and then. Now you want the cheaper cut then go somewhere else. Back to standing there. They used to have to enter there code or scan something then she would run off. I dont know if they still do that before ringup

I bet it really pisses ya when you go to Golden Coral and they ask if you want cash back for a tip;)

actually that is incorrect, stylist are usually paid either hourly or comission - last I checked @ jc penneys comission ranged 50%-55%- at the end of the pay period if comission is greater that is what they are paid. If it's not they are paid minimium wage $7.25 p/hour,
anyone who works know that $7.25 p/hour at 40 hours a week isn't alot of $ espically if your raising a family.
We count on our tips to help us pay our bills plus standing all day isn't easy.
If you are pleased with your service why wouldn't you tip?

My stylist works at Pier 17 located just off US 60 in Boyd County. The stylists there make 70% commission, and I have the luxury of listening to music or watching television in the waiting room. There is a neat little snack shop, tanning beds, gift shop, and they recently opened a beauty supply shop. There is plenty of ample parking, and it is handicapped accessible. Their new shipment of tanning products and professional line of beauty products are priced better than any place I have ever been, and the cost of the service is quite reasonable. Whether you are dissatisfied as a stylist or a customer, I would suggest a visit to Pier 17. I would recommend any of the stylists there. They all take pride in their work and will work with you to meet your satisfaction.

Wrong. They have to meet $400 a week in sales to get 40%(this is different for master stylists) on hair services. They get 10% on retail.

PLEASE! JCP stylists are paid on a draw. They get minimum wage plus comm to equal a total of 50-55% of their total service sales. If their % is less than 7.35/ hr they atleast get minimum wage. They also get 10-12% comm on all product sales. Their % comm earned has nothing with whether or not they are a designer or master. Those designation determine their price level.

It is customary to leave your stylist a 20% tip and no tip to shop owners. They stand at the register to be sure that their ticket is correctly charged, not to pressure you into tipping. To avoid this in the future, simply hand your stylist a cash tip and tell the receptionist that you have already taken care of your stylist.

As for complaints: the manager is Robyn Roark. You won't get anywhere with her. If you are unhappy with your service, you can return to have it fixed. You will NOT however, receive a refund if you deal with her. Your best bet is to talk to the store manager, Keith Kinkiner or assist mgr Tim Sparks.

If you really want to be heard about anything related to JCP, look on your receipt. There is a web address and a 19 digit code. Go to the address, use the code and fill out the survey. At the end there will be a space to add your comments. These go directly to corporate, are read then are forwarded on to the district mgrs then to the store.

NOTHING will ever change for the girls in the salon until more customers complain personally!! Robyn is a nasty, revengeful, miserable person and she needs to go!! So, PLEASE do your part and make your opinion heard!!!

I went a guy there and he dyed my hair some crazy color not even close to my natural color which is what i ask for... my hair was light brown i wanted it back dark brown, and it came out blonde! I called and just talked to Robyn and she was very nice to me and i explained that i didn't want to get him in trouble i was just so unhappy with the color i wouldnt even leave my house.... i get there thinking that she or someone else will do it and she ask him to fix it.... talk about nervous.... in the end he did fix it and i think was fired later on (not related to my complaint) my hair was fried and i havent been back since. I was offered nothing for the extra time it took out of my week. No she will not refund you but at least it was fixed.... i have no plans on returning there in the future
