I'm going for my 10 week baby appt the 18th and still haven't heard too many things about this doctor. I was kinda pushed into him bc of my health coverage. Any comments good or bad would highly help me out! This is my first and I want it to be somewhat painless when it comes to the doc :)

I would recommend Dr. Dotson to everyone, he is wonderful. Dr. Dotson is very knowledgeable and willing to listen to what you have to say and he will answer all of your questions.

Sometimes the wait is long but it is well worth it for the quality care you recieve.

I had my first child in 2009 and he was my OBGYN..He was a fine doctor not the worst.. not the best.. But I could not handle the wait..I would wait in the waiting room for hours and then get back to the room and wait some more and id see him for a total of 3 mins.. I don't know what kind of insurance you have but Dr. James delivered my second child this year and he was amazing. He accepts the Medical Card and many insurances. I had a lot of complications with my second child having children back to back and he watched everything very closely I saw him every 2 weeks most of the time because the baby was at risk. He's very patient and kind and will answer any of your questions. In my opinion I would recommend him to you Mother to Be.

Thank you all! I'm so impatient waiting around for my first appt! So many things are going through my head :) I hope the wait is something I can get used to. I'll have to make sure my boyfriend is off the days of my appointments bc I'd hate to keep him waiting although I know he'd never mind! I'm so excited to be a mommy!

He delivered my baby last year. He is wonderful!! Try and get your appointments in the morning. The wait is not bad at all. Most of mine were in the morning and I hardley waited...but I did have an afternoon appointment once and it was a rather king wait...but the reason why is because he actually spends time with you during your appointment and doesn't rush at all. So it tends to back up a bit...but the wait is worth it. Be glad he is the kind of doctor that spends the time to inform you of everything you want to know about. You won't regret going to him.

I has my baby this past April with Dotson!! He's the best I will NEVER go with another dr. All my appointments were in the am and I only Waited 15-30 min. But I was very late one time and had to wait 2 hours!! I've had 2 friends go to dr James and One switched dr and the other stayed bc her cousin was a nurse but neither liked him!! But everyone's diff I suppose!! Dotson always joked with my boyfriend and that eased him alot he always made you feel right at home!! I hope everything went or Is going well with your pregnancy it's a rough road!!

He was my dr with my last baby which was born in Jan and I liked him. The only time I waited more than 30 mins was when he had to run over to deliver someone's baby which is understandable bc babies can't wait and we can. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

He delivered my daughter this month and well he was 100% amazing! Everything was going great up to and after my epidural for a natural birth but my little girl switched positions at the last minute & her heart rate dropped dramatically & he had to do an emergency csection! The whole pregnancy was perfect & I couldn't of asked for anything better but I will admit the csection scared the crap outta me! I couldn't thank him enough though for succesfully getting my little girl out safely! He's an amazing and caring man & I would suggest him to anyone who was expecting!

i love Dr Dotson.. this is my 3rd baby and with each one i had a different Dr and Dotson is for sure my favorite...after my 2nd child was born a few mths after that we were in a bad accident and due to the emergency surgerys i had 2 have and having to learn to walk again on my right leg i became addicted to pain pills and i was extremely scared about this when i got pregnant and i was upfront and honest with Dr Dotson from the get go and i was afraid he would treat me different due to my addiction but he is amazing and is extremely nice to me and recommended the right treatment forme during my pregnancy and always asks me how im doing with it and acts like he really cares..i would recommend him to anyone
