The criticism and gossip of this little podunk town disgusts me. Somebody actually tries to bring something nice here and you idiots continue getting your $7.50 cuts and perms out at the local Walmart. Word spreads and these businesses fail. How about some support for small businesses these days so that corporate bulldogs stop destroying the economy by outsourcing every single job? Most of you probably don't understand that small businesses run this country so now schooled, do yourselves a favor.
Sideburns is by far the nicest, most attractive, appealing place I've received a cut since living in the city. Even then, it puts Sports-Cuts to shame. The staff are friendly, mostly attractive women in their mid-twenties to early-thirties so I understand why some of the big, local girls might dislike the joint. They've got my cut right each time (something else I've found rare at Fiesta and Master Cuts). Fifteen bucks? Hard to beat while being able to keep an eye on Sports Center as the ladies trim the wig.
Hope this company is here to stay a long time. Linda, even though I don't use hair products, I get the feeling that you're full of either a)bullshiz or b)diet pepsi. Go back to keeping the old ladies company at Fiesta and remember... GO BLUE!
Well said, I am a 40 year old local girl and took my tween son to get his hair cut there. Nice people. Great cut! Fair prices! The negativity here astounds me!:/

Jamie Stewart? Does she drive an old beat up ford taurus. She looks like she has been washed with the heavy cycle and hung up to dry! I remember when she was fired from the walmart salon in boyd counth

why was she fired from the walmart salon? I've heard she has stolen from several of the places she works at and this is the reason she was fired from most. I also heard that she targets married men to date. Does she have low self esteem? maybe one of you guys out there should make an honest woman out of her and give her her own husband. Is that the problem? Can't find a man to marry her, only men looking for a cheap dirty fling. yea..... sounds like low self esteem to me.

She was fired for accidentally mixing windex with hair color.

I met that Jamie Stewart at Sideburns and she gave me her number. Now she comes to my house and cuts hair for the whole family for half the price and does a great job. I wouldn't allow anyone else to cut our hair. So the girls not half bad....

you do know she could get in a lot of trouble for that. She is taking money away from the salon she works at when she does that. I gave her 20 to cut my kids hair and she never cut their hair. Said she would but never showed up. my fault for giving her the money up front, but just thought I would warn people no to trust her.

Well if it is so wrong for her to do that, then why were you so willing to pay her to do exactly that? And really?$20 to come to your house to cut your children's hair? That is hardly worth the gas to drive to someone's house and then work when you get there. Sounds like you are just someone who wants to say ugly things. Leave her alone.

I almost didn't reply to you because you have AOL but wth, I'm not doing much right now other than watching old gangster movies. It's nice being able to afford DVR. You can even pause movies as they stream live on cable. Sorry, didn't mean to get off track but hey, you have AOL.
Yeah, you should support small businesses but I'm still trying to figure out why you think $15.00 is expensive for a haircut. That's actually pretty average (Please refer to AOL comments above--AGAIN). Also, you must tell me about your barber shop. I'm dying to go get a haircut and get handed high wages and medical benefits! I'm really not too sure what your argument is about or where it came from but Sideburns isn't expensive. I pay seventeen-something at Fiesta and fifteen-flat at Sideburns. In case you missed it, MY POINT WAS, stop spreading gossip about new establishments especially if you haven't been there (as you clearly haven't).
Anyways, I'm going to go check Websters for the word FALUTIN then get back to my show. Sorry the word podunk offended you faluter. Not New York by the way but the burbs of Chicago. Pretty close.*In his best AOL voice* Goodbye
Satisfied,
No need to even waste your time on people like this! First of all, they dont comprehend what you are trying to tell them, second, they more than likely do not know what health benefits are because 65% of the people in this area carry a medical card and not health insurance. If insurance is offered at any hair cutting salon, most are not affordable period! So that is not even a topic for discussion. I personally went to Sideburns not knowing exactly what they had to offer and I am female. Yes, I should have checked prior to going in. However, they cut my hair and welcomed me and treated me better than any place I have ever walked into in this area and I have lived here my entire life By the way, I do happen to be educated, with a job and health benefits ;) I do appreciate places like this and feel very strongly about supporting places like Sideburns! Many around here do not know how to act when something like this is introduced, so they just bash them. Very sad. They cant think outside of their box. Wow, what they are missing! I must add that when I read the statement above "only the owners benefit from small business" I laughed so hard! When has anyone other than the owner/owners of any busniess/company ever benefited from it? Some people just dont get it....lol....and never will! Next time you in are Sideburns, mention them adding a small little area in the back for women. I know many of us who would support them :) We need a little more than just a cut, great service and sports but do love all of the above ;)

I have had Jamie do my hair before though not at Sideburns. She is really a very good stylist. I have no idea why she did not last very long at Sideburns. Maybe it was not a good fit for her. Perhaps she did not like working in a place that is always plastered all over Topix. I would be embarrassed to be associated with such a place myself.

As for the husband stealing I don't know but I have always believed that a husband who can be stolen already has one foot out the door.

And I hope I misread that statement about her asking for money. Did you really end it with LOL? Do you really find humor in the misfortune of others?

I am glad to know where she is now so that I can continue to get my hair done by someone as qualified as she is.

I think some people are just jealous. She is a very pretty girl and very nice. People are just hurtful. But then, what did I expect. This is Topix after all.

I love this place. A good hair cut with beautiful women giving them all while watching the game! What more could a guy ask for! It's like hooters for hair cuts!
