I'm considering sending my kids there. I've heard good and bad things. I know no school is perfect but I would like to hear from some of you who have had experiences with this school. I was told they don't watch the little ones well during recess.

We had great teachers & aides until we met up with
Amanda Hood. Advice....veer away from that one.. the other teachers were very much appreciated and loved by many of the children. Never had any problems during recess or any other times, just with Amanda Hood.

My son is in the second grade and has gone there since kindergarden. I have never had any problems with anyone. I am glad that I made the choice to send him there.

Amanda Hood ALWAYS tends to pick on at least one boy in her class....
Not any girls just boys.. this has happened years before my child was picked on and the following years.
I guess she must have a "male hate factor" buried deep within her subconcious......
She resembles a tree stump with arms... has the personality that she is always right....
Other than MISS HOOD, our years At Charles Russell were very enjoyable.

i sent my kid there for kindergarten and mrs bonner was always a yeller and didnt like to follow special rules for certain children with doctors notes let just say i went to the principal over it mr salyers and she was yelling at me the whole time even though she was in the wrong . nothing of course was done i ended up transfering my child to a diffrent school because lack of caring from both bonner and salyers they also had a huge lice problem and when i asked them to keep that child away from mine they said it was harrassment even though all they made them do was go home that day use lice shampoo and return the same day like that really did anything it was a on going problem the whole year.

re: old cs student, we never had any interaction with Mrs. Bonner, but did with Mr. Salyers.. He doesn't need to be a principal.. those female teachers run right over him.... He needs to grow a set of B.... for sure. He Always sides with the teacher, once u cross over that line with a conflict with one of the teachers.. In Salyers eyes.... you are DONE! He is just hanging on so he can get a good retirement, u can't get rid of bad teachers as well as bad principals. Its a losing battle.

To each his/her own. My kids go to CRE and they love it there. Most of the teachers there Christians. There will always be someone unsatisfied no matter where your kids go to school, the Doctor, ball teams, and etc. Ive learned we all have to experience our own troubles no matter where it is, when it comes to our kids. Good luck!

They know how to take a confident child and break him/her down to feel like they are nothing. Personal experience!

I'm sure there are bad teachers everywhere but my experience with this school thus far has been very good.

I heard they let the little kids play in the street during recess.

Wow! I have one there now and the other went from K-6. Never had a problem, they have always helped us out in anyway. Could it be that the child did not want to be corrected. if there was an issue with either of my children I was notified and we discussed what should be done. I've never heard a teacher yell at a class just because and I'm over there on several occassions. I'm sure it's just not CRS. Go find another school that would treat your kids like family. or just go observe the different schools. I sure hope those who have dogged CRS, have had the perfect world after leaving. Elementary is where you start building yourself up to being mature and making it through tough times. If you decide CRS is for you. I hope you have had the experiences I have had. for Ms. Hood, she was great to us (both kids which are boys). Could it have been just the child was misbehaving. we none want to think are kids would do anything in school, but I assure you they do. Mine is far from perfect. Ms Hood don't listen to their BS. we loved you. Go CRS!!!!#1 School

Read the post, Miss Hood picked on at least one boy..Guess yours were not the chosen ones.
Evidently you (stuff) wear rose colored glasses.
We had problems with her as well. So consider your self very blessed. No problems with any other teacher.. none!! NO behavioral problems, no academic problems....
Miss Hood does have a problem...
