Please don't I work there and I quit b/c they separate the kids by age groups and then they put them accordingly into 1 room for most of the day and they only change diapers a couple times during a day at predetermined times. If they go in between those times the child just has to sit in it till then.

My child has been there since he was an infant. I have never had any problems and neither has he. I have referred many people to send their children there, too. As a mother, I know that it is scary sending your child somewhere strange with people that you do not know, but I can honestly say that my son loves his daycare and his teachers. He is 4 now, so he has been going there for 4 years. I am pretty sure that you can go there and take a tour and meet the teachers and get the feel of the place before you send your child there.

Yes, go check it out. It usually smells like dirty diapers. I took my child out when the "preschool" teacher had a sign on their door with several misspellings and poor grammar. They are trained at only the minimum level.

I would advise you not to take your child there. I will leave it at that. I experienced one of the most horrible situations there. I also agree with a previous post on the diaper changing, biting is definitely a problem, which tells me children are not watched like they should be, and expect your child to be filthy when you pick them up. I overlooked too many things while my child was there. Just a warning, you should be able to trust your child care provider with your child/children.

Please wait...
I have never had any parents complain about the care their children received while under our care. We routinely change their little nappys, powder their little bottoms and rock them to sleep with a num-num bot.
Don't believe everything you hear on the interwebs.

I would not recommend them to anyone. I can't tell you the amount of times my son would come home with soaked pants or a diaper rash due to them not changing him. I would send a pack of diapers and then they would need more a couple of days later even though it was apparent they were not using them for my child. I have heard the preschool teacher yell at the children in her class. Biting is very much an issue there. I received several notes about how my son had been bitten by another child. I understand that some kids bite but when it happens that frequently there's a lot to be said about supervision. I hope this helps, there are other good daycares in this area but sadly this is not one of them.

All you have to do is visit the center check their record it is posted and they have cameras running 24/7. I'm sure the negative comments coming from a ex-employee is the one that was fired for neglect.

I agree former employees aren't the best resourse on your daycare needs. Go in unexpected and check any daycare you consider, but as far as Pollard Daycare each employee is fully trained, background checked, and above all wonderful and respectful to each child. I know this because I sent both my children there and as far as the Pre-school teacher she taught my children in the 2 years she was with them more than Ashland headstart program taught my nephew! No each employee isn't a college professor but they are loving hard working women most of them are mothers themselves,I highly recommend this daycare to anyone. You as a parent should know with in a few weeks if there is something wrong with ANY daycare and I can assure you this each child there is very much loved and care for.

I have to agree that I have never had any serious issues and my 30 week preemie child has gone to PNDC since she was 3 months old and is now almost three. Any issues I have ever had, and believe me, I'm extremely picky with the care of my kid, have been addressed and corrected immediately. The director goes above and beyond to make me feel like I have left my kid in a safe environment where she will continue to learn and grow. They treat my child like she is their own and I trust them with her. In a world full of ugly people with ugly intentions, I'm thankful I have PNDC to watch my kid. Has my kid been bitten? Sure. She's almost three and so are her friends. They are kids and they go through that. I assure you that it isn't that they aren't being watched. Anyone with more than one child knows that at some point the little stinker is going to do something to test their limits. ESPECIALLY when someone is watching. What I do like is that I am told when things don't go smoothly (another child bit her today, she didn't take a nap, she refused her veggies). I need to know these things do that when we are home I can take them into consideration when parenting my child. One day my child had a scratch when she came home near her eye. The very next morning, I took it up with the director and she spent the morning questioning the staff and going through the video tapes of the day to tell me how that scratch happened.(another child scratched her) That shows me that she cares about what happens to these kids and she cares about how it is handled. I've never had an issue with PNDC that would cause me to pick my kid up and take her elsewhere. She is learning how to write and how to recognize shapes. She knows what some four year olds don't. She gets a balanced diet there and they encourage her to try veggies (which she hates). Is everyone college educated? I assume not. But I work at a bank and not everyone is college educated. That doesnt mean they arent trained, nor does it mean they dont know how to do their jobs. I have no doubt in my mind that the director and staff at PNDC are devoted to the children who attend and their parents. By the way, if my kid only had her diaper changed twice a day, I'd be the first to know about it and bring it up because diaper rash would never go away. I'm fairly confident saying that if they only changed diapers twice a day, they'd have no kids coming there because they would all have diaper rash. That's common sense. I'll be sending my 8 week old there next week to join her sister. I'm not a bit concerned that she would get sub standard care. Believe me when I say that I am not a nice person. Believe me when I say that when it comes to my children, I am extremely overprotective and also believe that I would jerk my child out of there if I felt she was being neglected, abused or forgotten in any way. My suggestion would be to visit the daycare and see how it fits you and your child. Then make your decision based on what is right for you.

I don't expect every employee to be college educated, but if you are going to help prepare my child for Kindergarten, then I expect that you should be able to spell simple words and speak correctly. My child learned the word "ain't" while there, which took me months to correct. The people are nice, but I chose to do what was best for my child and leave. It was an excellent decision! The daycare at Bridges Christian Church was so much nicer and my child came home singing songs and saying Bible verses they learned instead of poor grammar!

I enrolled my son there when he was 2 and he loved it. I left work early on multiple occasions to check on him, and I would watch from outside the room to see what he was doing. One day when I dropped him off he said "Bye Mom" and ran right into his caretaker's arms - he didn't even give me a hug goodbye! Unfortunately, we had to pull him out because I needed a daycare that stayed open later. We put him in Ashland Child Development Center and had to pull him out almost immediately because of a number of issues. Now I am a stay at home Mom, but I would not hesitate to put either of my children back at PNDC! I recommend making unannounced visits to the center (we did) at different times of the day to get a feel for it yourself.
