I am wondering what the best place to get a GOOD QUALITY tattoo around here in Ashland/Ironton/Huntington. The tattoo I want to get is my children's handprints or footprints. I want them to actually look like their prints, not cartoonish. So I was just wondering where to go. I've heard both good & bad things about Tattoo Unlimited out in the County, but I want to know some others!

Don't go to Rick and them, the best place to go is Ink Sensations in Ohio, Georgie Sanders is the best, cheapest, and cleanest around. He is located out 141

You need to check out Bad Buddha Tattoo in Westwood. By far they do the best work around here and are top notch on cleanliness. They always get a perfect from the health department. As far as being educated, the owner is works in the Radiology Department at KDMC. If you are a serious client and want good artwork done, get on yahoo and search for Bad Buddha Tattoo. Check out some of Big Rick's work and also check out Joey "Rook" and Josh "Jables" work. They take pride in their art and it never looks like the ink is watered down or that they did it with a bic pen and guitar string. They're art is astounding. I was so indecisive about my first tattoo that it literally took me 6 years to figure out what I wanted and where I wanted it. I also am the type of person who does research before I make a decision and I went to every shop around here, I went to Tat's Unlimited "former Turner's" (anyone who has freaking parrots in a building where they stick needles into people need to be shut down, birds can carry diseases and I don't care if they are "clean" and trained, a tattoo place is not a place to keep animals in!!, Mad Dogg Tattooz (just starting out but the art work wasn't as clean and creative as I would have hoped, Bloodline(you can never catch anyone there, and why would I make an appointment to just look at a profile, if you are serious about your art then you need to be available to your potential customers.) I also checked out Thee Ink Well (dirty dirty dirty, also not in business anymore, hmmmm wonder why). As if this is not enough I took my search to Huntington, Epicenter, cool people, decent artwork if you catch the right person before they get a "buzz" for the day. Also the people are more interested in seeing if customers will do the milk challenge for a free tattoo.(This is where you attempt to drink a gallon of milk in 1 hour without puking) Now that the customer is a certain shade of green and sweating from their nausea not only do they get to pay for their tattoo but they're shaking and the artist is laughing too hard to do good work. I'm telling you, an educated person does their homework and that is exactly what I did when I decided to get a tattoo. My tattoo may be small but I absolutely love it and I will not let anyone but Rick at Bad Buddha tat on me, no one! If you are serious about anything that will be on your body forever, do your homework and research before you make a decision. As far as the Ashland area goes, Bad Buddha is the only place worthy of being called a "Tattoo Studio"!

of the shop but it's down in Cannonsburg close to the Fannin car lot. The guy who owns it, Miko, is awesome. I'm talking Michaelangelo with a tattoo gun!

Miko who then took it over or is there a new owner now? Last I talked to him, about 2ish-3 months ago maybe, he was painting the place to open? I don't know, hell, maybe he shut down already and someone else has it?

If so that is a damned shame! I like Miko and he did a badass job on me.

If someone told you that...you go back and talk to Big Rick...and I'm sure if your friend goes in and shows him the problem Rick will fix it for him...he takes pride in his shop and the work coming out of it....

that is just sad. I know Miko had some issues with the drugs but he looked SO GOOD and seemed to be coming right along! I hope it wasn't that he went back to them.
