They bite pretty hard, but if you get them when they first come out of pouch, you can tame them. I raised sugar gliders for a while. They take time and attention, like most pets, but they are a lot of fun. They're nocturnal, so they will make a LOT of noise at night.

On the male sugar glider, the scrotum hangs by a thread in the middle of the abdomen, not between the hind legs. I just thought I'd mention this before one of you dingles it and says, "Oh, look at this cute little pom pom!" and becomes a sugar glider molester like me.

They are really great pets if you aren't gonna molest their little scrotum like that sicko above you! I bet you also played with their winkies because you thought they were red rubber bands, too!

Seriously, they are friendly and sociable. They have cute personalities and they even interacted with my cats, most of whom where scared to death of the mouse-sized critters. One cat used to let the sugar glider ride on her. They jump from person to person and can glide some distance when they jump from a high enough spot.

If you are thinking of getting one, be prepared to make food for them to make sure they get what they need vitamin/mineral wise. These are not low-maintenance pets, and need a large cage and lots of handling.

don't be a loser and get one and not do anything with it like keeping it in it's cage forever and being lazy! If you can't PROPERLY care for a dog or cat then you don't have any business getting one of these. Do extensive research, first and foremost. If you do decide you will be a great sugar glider owner, then by all means, have at it!

Thanks for the info. I am definitely not getting one. And I sincerely hope that a bunch of irresponsible people don't get these as pets and get bored and decide to just let them loose into the wild. It sounds like they require a lot of attention.
