The name was Wes Meeks and it was not son that helped him but yes, they were both mentally challenged in more ways than one. It was a very sick murder.

Revenge murder. 2 former prisoners killed a prison guard at his home then sodomized the body. His son, if he even had one, was not involved. It's in greenup county.

There was a Wes Meeks that went to Fairview and graduated in 1979; about the right age. Is he the one involved with this murder?

Yes Joe, it was Wesley Meeks from Westwood. He and a young boy, not his son, committed this horrible murder.

Wes meeks was a drunk for years and then had moved on to durgs . They were robbing the house and monty montgomery walked in on them ,he had come by to check on the familys new kitten. Both men should of been taken to the woods and shot for all they put that man and his family through.

You're probably going to have to go to the libraries around the area to research what you're looking for.

The brief story is about half-way down the page and the article is titled "Teen indicted as adult in shooting death".
GREENUP A teenager was indicted by a Greenup County grand jury as an adult in the shooting death of a federal prison employee at his home last year.
Larry Curtis Clifton, 17, of Flatwoods, could face a death sentence if convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Monte Montgomery, 40, at his Happy Ridge home.
Mr. Clifton, who is lodged without bond in an undisclosed juvenile detention center in eastern Kentucky, also was indicted on charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, three counts of theft by unlawful taking, abuse of a corpse and first-degree sodomy.
Mr. Clifton, who turned 17 this month, will be arraigned at 2 p.m. July 10 before Greenup Circuit Judge Lewis Nichols.
Wesley H. Meeks, 41, of Flatwoods, was indicted in November on the same charges and also faces a possible death sentence if convicted.
Mr. Montgomery, a budget analyst at the Federal Correctional Institution at Summit, was shot five times in the head when he walked in on a burglary at his home in October, according to a state police report.
